Anthony Vulpi steps to the plate for the
Yankees. This breakdown is brought to
you by DraftKings. The Yankees are two
games out of the division right now and
the Blue Jays have lost. They also win
and they clinch a postseason birth, but
they're down by one. Leadoff hitter gets
on. Vulpi with a single. That's the
tying run against the White Socks.
They're playing for not much. Luis Heel
celebrates then beats up Asaldo Cabrera
who says, "Hey dude, what's going on?"
Welly's up now. He's going to take ball
one, take ball two. A little flashing in
the crowd. Takes ball three. A little
flashing. Dad says, "Hey, no, no, no,
no, no, no flashing." 3-1 pitch. Fouled
back. Full count. A little flash and a
big foul ball. Home run. But dad said no
more flashing. We got a little more
flashing. The fans get very involved
here. Wells with a single. So, they're
doing it. They're on. They're
celebrating their claw hands or whatever
the hell that is that they Yankees do.
The bench loves it. Let's go. And now up
comes the big sleep. Gisham. He's been
clutch all year. Can he do it? No. He
hits into a double play. It does move
the tying run to third. That's helpful,
but it's a double play. And now there's
a base open. So they say, "Hey, Phil,
Phil, Phil, four, four. We're going to
walk Judge. Uh we're going to walk Judge
because we don't want to face him
because he's really good. So now
Bellinger's up and the first pitch below
the zone. The next pitch high called to
strike. One and one. Next pitch outside.
Big swing. Okay. Full count. That's
fouled back. And then way above
everyone's head. Vulpi. The double play
moved him to third. The tying run. He
scores. He doesn't slide. He just runs
straight to the dugout to celebrate with
the crew. Now Heel is giving hugs. Look
at this. It's ball four. It's a wild
pitch. It's the tying run coming home to
score. This guy in the crowd, I don't
know where his kid went, but he loves
it. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Woohoo.
She loves it. High five. High five. High
five. Probably kept going forever. They
bring a new pitcher in to face Jose
Cabiro. And now they're dancing the
crowd. Say, "Hey, why don't we do this
thing? Why don't we do this thing? You
know, this is good luck. Let's do this
thing. And then over there, they're
like, "Why don't we just stand up?"
"Yeah, just stand up." "Yeah, just stand
up." And then this guy's like, "All
right, I'll do it. I'll do whatever.
Here we go." First pitch, he takes it.
Breaking ball away. And now we're just
clapping. We're just clapping. We're
doing the double thumbs up. We're
tickling our boy. And the pitch. Ooh.
Breaking ball in the zone. Now we've got
the hat, the voodoo hat, the rally hat.
Oo. And now we've got the backwards hat.
Anything and anything and anything to
help the team. fouled back. Cool bat
spin though. Two strikes a strike away
from losing. Vulpi looking on. Jazz
looking on intensely. Goldie is looking
on. Everybody is looking on. Everybody
is staring. Everybody is focused. A
strike away from winning. But the hat's
dancing. Oh yeah, the hat's dancing.
We're doing everything we can in the
crowd. We're high-fiving. We're thumbs
uping. We're pointing. We're giving
kisses. A good luck kiss. Oh yeah, good
luck kiss. Oh yeah. Look at him. Look at
her. She's like, "Did you like that? Is
that okay? Was that cool that we did
that? You want to do it every pitch?"
Well, if it works, but then the game
would be over. Okay. Maybe maybe more
pitches. Ball low. Good. Now we get more
dancing hat. We get more voodoo. Do we
get more good luck kisses? Yes. Oh. Oh,
we're doing it again. Okay. Okay. Okay.
We did it again. Two. Two. Foul back
down the line. Out of play. Dancing hat.
Voom voom voom.
And now just a little hangout with the
boy. Check out this kid. Oh yeah, we're
doing it. Two two pitch. Fouled back
again. More voodoo dancing hat. Oh,
the 2- two. Fouled back again. The fast
ball.
[Music]
22 again. Fouled again. This time down
the line
into the crowd. What a battle it's been.
Vulpi looking on. Wow, this is going on
forever. This fan praying, hoping,
wishing. The hat is still going. It's
going strong.
But what do we do on the other side?
Okay, we're dancing now. Everybody
dance. Let's dance. And then we're going
to swing with the batter. And then I'm
going to jump into my dad if that's his
dad. Two two. That one is put into play.
It's going to drop. Judge was on the
move. The throw didn't come home. The
Yankees win. They clinch. They gained a
game in the division against the Blue
Jays. They clinched a postseason birth.
They came from behind to win it. Jose
Cababiierro gets it done with an awesome
atbat. Fouled a bunch of two strike
pitches. This ball. Michael A. Taylor
looks like he decides I'm not going to
catch it. So, let me get ready for the
throw. Cuz he could have decided to go
all out and catch it and put a diving
effort. It was a shallow ball.
He's very good though. He I think he
says, "No, I don't think I'm gonna catch
it, so I'm gonna slow up and make the
perfect throw." But instead spiked it.
Just spiked it right to the lip of the
grass and Judge scores easily. Now the
bench, they were excited. Rosario and
Dominguez, they've got a little bit of a
battle going. Rosario came to the Yanks.
He's like, I'm going to be the first guy
of the dugout. Dominguez has been
challenging him lately, being ahead of
him. And here, a little respect paid by
Dominguez, but still competition. Vulpi
jumps. McMahon jumps. And look at these
guys. They're still tethered at the hip.
And now they're both late to the party
because they played too much defense,
not enough offense. Jose Cabierro, he
never considered maybe Michael A. Taylor
would make a diving catch. Maybe Michael
A. Taylor would throw Judge out at home
plate. Never considered either of those
options. As soon as he put it in play,
he started celebrating, screaming, and
enjoying his walk-off. It was very
likely that he could have made a diving
catch or a throw. Not very likely, but
you know, it could have happened, but it
didn't. And he knew it. And he is fired
up. He's going to get water here. He's
going to get water there. He's going to
get water everywhere. The Yankees, with
the help from the fans, win a fun one.
This breakdown was brought to you by
DraftKings, and I thank them for
sponsoring. I thank you for watching. I
thank the Yankees for making me happy
and winning.
