This video highlights a series of unusual and entertaining sports moments, ranging from the first-ever ejection in the WPBL and the mechanics of blind football to a high-stakes amateur golf match and a chaotic \"Slippery Stairs\" competition.
The WPBL had its first ever ejection and it came from this play.
They think they got two outs and doubled up the runner on third.
And then the pitcher's like, Wait, what?
That's an out. That's an out. Whoa, that's crazy.
She turns. She said, That's crazy. They can't believe it.
What are you talking about?
The umpires get together like, What did you have?
Well, I didn't. I don't. What did you have?
I said, Well, what do you have?
They call this a scoop.
Now, manager Jamal Weeks, he's talking very calmly.
He's like, What are you talking about?
You got to make that call because she didn't even see it.
Look at the field umpire.
She turns the wrong way.
And at point of catch, her head is looking to right field
because she turned the other way.
Now it's hard.
There's only two umpires out there and it's a hot shot.
She doesn't have eyes on it.
She has to make a call. That's a guest call.
You got to ask home plate ump for help.
Home plate ump, I guess, just wants to stick with her teammate
and say, No, you have it.
But I mean, she didn't even see it.
I mean, we know she didn't see it.
Anyway, it goes back.
And now that umpires talking with the coach and you can see he says to her,
Watch your mouth when you're talking to me.
Watch your mouth.
You better watch your mouth when you're talking to me.
And then she ejects him.
We don't see the ejection.
And they're like, What?
She it seems like she's the one that said something.
And he said, Hey, hey, hey, don't say that.
And then he got ejected for getting offended.
She writes down in her paper, I think we missed the call,
but we created history and that's cool.
So the first ever ejection
in the WPBL has happened
in a game between the New York Kites and the Boston Hunters.
And he just stares her down the whole way. Pretty calm.
The European Blind Football Championship opened up with a great match
between France and England, and there's a collision right away.
And France's best player, Farouk Farouk, loses his mask.
So the official has to retape him.
Now, as we watch this, I'll pause and I'll answer all your burning questions
about the Blind Football Championship League.
Here's how it works.
The referee is required to tape up the masks
and they have to wear two layers of masks.
The outside players, you cannot touch your own mask.
You cannot touch opponent's mask.
You can't touch anything.
And the referees can check your mask at all times.
So Frederic Verroux, he, I don't know why I'm rolling my R's in a French name.
He gets his mask done up.
It looks like he's like, can you tighten it, please?
He doesn't like how they're doing it.
Now you see the guys in white. Those are the guides.
Each team gets a guide on the sidelines, on the other side.
The ball makes noise.
The walls keep everything in play.
Look at him dice up the opponents.
A lot of people saw this and said, that dude can see.
You can't tell me he can't see. He's just weaving.
He's just weaving.
I think he's just running a weave pattern.
Defenders don't know what's going on.
He celebrates and then he runs to the sideline
and he starts screaming at someone.
Can he see them?
The whole point is he can't see it.
And now he's screaming at the ref.
He's mad. They give him a yellow card.
He doesn't care.
His name is Frederic Verroux.
And he scored all four goals for France as they went on to beat England.
Goalkeepers like, hey, man, chill out.
Here's the replay.
The ball makes noise, too.
So he's just zigzagging, right?
Which it seems the best strategy in offense,
because all the defenders are going to chase the noise of the ball.
So once they run that way, then you got to go the other way
and just hope you don't run into him. Bam.
Wait, do you see the guide?
Oh, smokes. Look at the guide behind the net.
He kicks with him.
Like when you feed food to your baby and you open your mouth to
the guy behind the net, see how he kicks, too,
because he's the guide.
That's cool.
I actually like that kick.

Ryder Cowan ranked eighth in the World Amateur Rankings.
He's coming off earning first team All-American honors as a junior,
and he's facing Myles Russell, who they say is the best high school
golfer since Tiger Woods.
That's a pretty good sense.
Teeing off here on the 17th, and he puts it
into about the thickest stuff he could put it.
Not great. He's like, oh, boy, his first attempt to get out of here.
He if that had a sound effect, it would be.
He said it was a pretty impossible shot.
The next one felt just as impossible.
But he needs to get it in to win this match,
and he gets it out of the rough and it's rolling and it is in.
Oh, my goodness.
Drops it in there for Birdie.
Horrendous tee shot.
Second shot sucked.
But this one is about as perfect and all it takes is one good shot.
He says, thanks, man.
Myles missed his putt.
He wins. What a way to finish it for Ryder Cowan.
Next up, we've got ESPN, the Ocho's Slippery Stairs competition.
We've got six competitors.
Choose which color you think will win based off what you're seeing.
All right. Now the goal is first one up.
The Slippery Stairs wins.
Top three get the top three.
Now you can see they all slipped right away, right?
There's gonna be a thorough breakdown, so hang tight.
You can see pink slow and steady in the back.
She's like, you guys are all going to fall
and I'm just going to get through you while you're on the ground.
And it doesn't fully work out.
Now we are a couple seconds in and no one has made any ground.
They are all falling.
Green is just falling a lot in the back.
And now red's trying to go slow and steady, slow and steady.
And you're asking yourself, can they play defense?
Yes. You see orange try to get red down.
Now red, she got to the second platform and then took off.
Brianna Cherry, all by her lonesome, destroys the field, wins by so much.
It's maybe the least interesting part of the race.
Look at her go. No one is in sight.
They're all stuck at the beginning.
She sees the bell, she gets to it, and she says, this is mine.
Ring-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding.
I win.
And you guys are all the way down there getting help from the spotters.
But now it gets fun.
Green is in the lead, but slips and takes purple down with her.
And that gave orange a big lead.
And orange, who was trying to play defense against Cherry in red,
she comes in second place and she also had a big lead.
And she's going to ring that bell.
Ring-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding is what the bell says.
Now we've got ourselves an all out brawl for third place.
And green falls down.
And then you see green down and you can see purple pulls pink down.
Now, whoever's at the top needs to get pulled down.
And there's a big slip up in strategy coming up here.
Green is in the back.
And who's going to play defense?
Who's going to play defense?
You can see at one point pink decides, OK, they're a little bit ahead of me.
She pulls purple.
Purple says, if I'm going down, you're coming with me.
Blue grabs blue's leg. Smart.
If you're going down, take the others with you.
Now pink sees they slid past her.
She's got a head start.
And they're like, nope, you're gone.
Whoever's at the top gets yanked down.
That's how it works.
But there's a big flaw here because green
is going to make a little leapfrog jump frog week.
And that puts her in first place.
And instead of purple getting green, pink decides I'm going to get purple.
And now you've screwed up.
At this point, a professional slippery stair
player does not take purple down.
They team up with purple to take green down.
You've got to attack on top.
If not, you've just given the lead to green.
And again, this is third place because Brianna Cherry in red
dominated the field.
Gets even better, though, because green goes to ring the bell.
No, ring-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding-a-ding.
She broke it.
The bell fell off.
She's like, oh, the bell is falling down and lands right on purple's hand.
And she's like, what the hell?
I thought the obstacle was the wetness, not a falling bell.
And that's everything you missed that you never planned on watching.
Thank you very much for tuning in.
Sorry about the little delay or mini break that we took.
Once we get through the summer, though, we're back.
We're weekly. We're the best.
You're the best.
And we're covering everything that you didn't watch.
Go tell your neighbors.
