All the best action from a drama filled day at Wentworth for the final round of the 2025 BMW PGA Championship, featuring Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland and Alex Noren.
Pin to the sun and straight over to the pin. Look at this for McElroy.
Almost an albatross. Perfect tee shot from Dietrich trying to enlighten his draw.
So this is a really accessible pin for him and they will be going at everything today.
Oh it's another beautiful iron shot. Look at this. He's going to be catching Dietrich soon.
And it is another step forward for Rory McElroy who's on the outskirts of the top 20 now.
Big strong man Sean Norris. He sort of uses his strength to just
pat it down there and nearly in. He's been trying to hit it harder.
So he's now within five. This is Joachim Niemann who had an excellent round yesterday.
What a way to start. Looks like he's been lucky off the tee between the two bunkers down the right.
Left himself the perfect angle to this left hand pin and taken full advantage. Really nice
from Aaron. Guarantee he'll be taking dead aim after that. He'll be angry.
Oh super shot. That's what Victor does best. Takes the flags on. Very rarely comes up short this man.
Yeah excellent. That's what you do. You make a bogey. A three putt bogey and he comes straight
back with a birdie. I love this kid's balance. Great great balance to swing. Not a lot can go
wrong. The 1-5-1 wedge. Taking dead aim and why not?
Terrific as you'd expect. He's reached the par five fourth hole. He's made a couple of bogeys.
Should get one of them back here. It doesn't matter where you put the flags with Tyrell.
His goal is just just to fire at them. Down the grip at four.
Go it did. A lovely shot from Fitzpatrick who really has started to find a little form over
the last couple of months and more. Bubbling up nicely this isn't it?
If he gets one in close here Dom, it could be very interesting. Oh I think they'd go hard.
Go. Oh it did just about didn't it? Look at that. He'll have that for an eagle to get within one of
the leads. Faith and Aaron Rye. Yeah this pin in a little bowl at the back right of the screen. So
you land it about 10 yards short. You get a kick forward and in she comes. Oh that's superb. Two
really good shots from this group. And what a bonus this would be as you guys in the box have
rightly described. You're trying to be one under after four. He's got it. Hold a couple of really
nice ones late in his round yesterday. Actually had a spectacular finish. Birdie, birdie, eagle.
Won't be long till he holds one. He putts for fun. Beautiful putter. Yeah there's a
first birdie of the day for the 2020 BMW PGA Champions. So happens to 14 under.
One point Gryffindor. That's going to be pretty good. He's had a six, a seven and a four so far
this week. Hopefully a three to finish. Now he's played it. Another great shot. Quality of the
goal pull is quite incredible. Top 11. None of them have dropped a shot to that. It was a good line.
Two yards further left and it would have kicked on and further left.
But still an outstanding shot. Sweet as a nut.
Quite a swing from right to left. Little down the hill.
Is it going to make it? Is it going to make it? It has!
Finished with an eagle last week and finished with an eagle this week. Rounding 65. What a roar.
What a player. The ultimate crowd pleaser. Rory McIlroy. Beautiful contact. Just beautiful contact.
Outstanding shot. Such a lot can go wrong when you're swinging that hard open clubface out of
fluffy rough. Best putter over the first three days, Norrin. That's why. What a volley at 14.
A really good iron player, Shane. Best part of his game statistically. There's an example of it there.
Same weapon. Five iron. Stunning. That is a feature of Tyrell Hatton.
Reyes found the flat ferry at the base of the hill at seven. Second shot up the slope.
And played just to perfection. The quality of the golf was outstanding.
These are always awkward. Open the clubface. Green running away from Fitzpatrick.
Little floater. Magic. Absolute dream ticket. Landed in the fringe. Landed very softly.
You're a spy, McGinley. A spy. Super. Excellent. Great chance that Tyrell Hatton will avoid
making bogey there. He's a very experienced, gritty campaigner. Minwoo Lee, short of the 15th.
Well, there you go. Dropped one at the last. Not playing the 15th that well,
but a lovely little pitch there.
That's more like it. Nine past. Now let's start the birdie run.
And we'll see if Ewan Ferguson can make a birdie, which he can at number 11. Very well done.
And this is Fickard back down the 11th hole. Very good from Fickard.
And there we go. Sadier goes to the top of the leaderboard.
Just 97. Trying to stun it. It's beautiful. Just 91 and the wind has lulled, which means he can
land at 93 if he so chooses and get this thing to zip back at it. Two superb shots. Must get
up and down here for Fitzpatrick. Running out of holes. Nicely done. That was the 72nd eagle
of the week. Siwoo's on 18. All right, up the hill to par 3. 14th through the rain.
Beauty. So easy for this to tail off. Beautiful. Right in the middle and he's just a couple behind.
Well, that proves to me he's not feeling pressure at the moment.
Here's Sadier in the bunker at 12. It's fiddly.
It can shoot out of wet sand. He's knocked this by and he's played a perfect shot.
All round good game, this guy. Strange day for Victor. Stalled a little bit at the weekend.
It's the time for a final surge. Good three there on 13.
Got to take dead aim. Green light putt. Green light putt. Green light shot for
Hovland here. Yeah, he likes those pins on the right.
So need to give this a bit of a wallop slightly out of his left.
He's walloped it right into the hull and maybe a significant move
from Alex Noren. It was a lovely second shot. It was against his natural way of playing.
Yeah, just what the doctor ordered. Noren's giving him a chance.
Open the door a little bit and he's had a pearler.
I'll tell you what, I like that putt on the previous green. You know,
he didn't sort of back out of it. Fabulous. Just fabulous.
One of the toughest parkours in the course made to look easy.
We talked about the difference towards the end of the front lane. That's continuing.
Maybe a little bit of check on the second mouth and release it then.
Quality plus from both of them. Can he get this in tight?
This should have some spin on this back flag. This is his game all over.
Dancing around the cup. From this range, it's just a gap wedge.
Taking it all the way, getting it to stick.
And he's got it. What a putt. What a time to hold it.
Noren now leads by one, 19 under par. Definitely a two horse race now.
He's been a different man today, really. That body intent said I'm going.
The last shot of regulation play. Supplied by Alex Noren going for his third win in 21 days.
72 holes, not enough.
That's what he's trying to do out there. That's a weird shot, man.
And you're right, all of you. He wouldn't have made it had he taken that.
The wind has just lulled a little momentarily. What's it all about?
Two wonderful layups from the two players in the playoff.
The danger with a lie that isn't quite as clear as the other.
Had to make sure he had some speed. Beautifully played.
He's had a slightly better lie. He's got a decent contact on the ball.
Quality.
Difficult to get the putter up fairly quickly.
A lovely birdie for at the first extra hole.
Knowing the champion that Alex had to go the extra mile.
The BMW is champion here at Wentworth for the second time.
Alex, many, many congratulations.
You've won the BMW PGA Championship 2025.
The second time you've won this magnificent championship.
Just what does this mean to you?
I don't know. It's so many emotions right now.
It's like the playoff. I felt a little bit easier than maybe coming down the 72nd hole.
A little bit better conditions. I thought I hit that one in the water.
But I had a great lie, so I tried to put it up here on the right side of the green.
And then got fortunate with a good break. The chip was sitting quite nicely.
I saw his ball. It didn't catch as nice of a break maybe.
So it makes a difference.
Just briefly, were you going for the green at 18?
I was, yeah. I wasn't laying up there.
I know. You both had it there. We were kind of quizzing.
Radar was saying we didn't think you could reach.
It was really cold and into the breeze.
I had such a good lie, but I think the water kind of got us both maybe.
And then trying to hit it up here.
But obviously it was tougher than we thought.
You and Adrian matched each other shot for shot through that back nine and in the playoff as well.
Just what was going through your mind?
How were you processing, you know, what do I need to do to win this?
Take a risk? Wait for a mistake? What?
Yeah, I mean, I think I played, I hit my iron shots way better the first three days.
And today I was kind of struggling a little bit with a hit.
So I hit it good off the tee.
My iron shots just felt a little tough.
But my putting, chipping, you know, got some long putts going in.
It was, you know, you just got to fight.
Sometimes it comes too easy and sometimes you just got to fight.
And today it felt like a fight.
I think he probably outplayed me, TD Green, but that's how it goes.
You won for the first time in seven years,
three weeks ago at the British Masters at the Belfry.
You've now done it again.
What's going on? How has this come about?
I don't know.
I like coming back to Europe and I like splitting time.
You know, it feels great to see all the friends here.
And my caddy, my coach has done a great job, I think.
And I kind of just trusted the process and not weird away from it,
which I usually do otherwise.
And yeah, it pays off, I think.
You're off to the Ryder Cup as a vice captain.
In this form, we'd like you to be playing.
If someone gets injured or sick, they're allowed to substitute somebody.
And if they do it before the opening ceremony, you're going to take your clubs?
No, well, I take my clubs this time, but then I'll bring it home to Florida.
I think the other guys have played better than me throughout the year.
I've put in great results now, the last month, when it came a little bit too late.
So I think the guys on the team are going to be fantastic.
And I'm really looking forward to that match more than, I don't know, in a long time.
Just finally, a word for BMW, wonderful sponsor of the tour.
They do a cracking job here.
Yeah.
No, I mean, I love it.
Like this tournament is unbelievable.
I told all the guys that I play with in the States to come over here.
I think it's one of the best tournaments in the whole world.
It just gets better every year.
And I'm so grateful we have these kind of tournaments.
Many congratulations.
Fantastic playing.
Well done.
Thank you.
