This video shows the second part of the “Taming of Sméagol” scene from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers – Extended Edition. In this sequence, Gollum, captured by Frodo and Sam in the rocky heights of Emyn Muil, is bound with Elven rope. He vehemently protests, saying the rope “burns” and was twisted by “nasty Elves.” Under duress, Gollum makes a solemn vow—swearing on the Ring, the “precious,” to serve Frodo and lead them to Mordor.

Sam, skeptical, doubts Gollum’s promise, while Frodo, trusting his plea, removes the rope. Gollum then dashes off through Emyn Muil, torn between his inner voices—Gollum and Sméagol. Just when the Hobbits believe he’s escaped for good, he returns and urges them to follow him.
