Fiddyl Reesht: Manx Music for Fiddle - Book launch & concert

The launch event for the new book, 'Fiddyl Reesht: Manx music for fiddyl / Kiaull Manninagh son Fiddyl' edited by Laura Rowles.

After a short introduction, young students perform pieces from the book, including traditional and modern Manx jigs, reels and slow airs in new arrangements suitable for Grade 4 and Grade 5 ABRSM Performance Exams.
The pieces performed include:

* Peel Castle
* Flitter Dance - Variations
* Kinnoull
* Tom's Reel
* Graih Foalsey

'Fiddyl Reesht' is a collection of Manx traditional and contemporary tunes arranged for fiddle by three of the Island's leading players and teachers, Laura Rowles, Katie Lawrence and David Kilgallon. As well as complete music notation, the book contains background to the tunes, performance tips, and advice on ornamentation.
