Hey everybody, this is a story of our home on wheels. It's a 2001 Ford school bus we turned
into a home for our family. It's 30 feet long, just under 230,000 miles and the ceiling height
is about five foot ten. Fully insulated with no rust and honestly it runs beautifully when you
stay on top of the oil changes. We want it to feel like home so we installed both an electric
and propane water heater, an apartment size fridge, microwave and four burner propane stove.
Everything we needed for everyday life. We added recessed lighting with a night mode,
a 100 amp breaker panel and hey google smart integration so we can control everything just
with our voice. One of my favorite features is the shower, it's marble tiled. It gives the space just
the right touch of comfort and elegance. We left the front of the bus originally to keep that
nostalgic school bus charm. It reminds us of where the journey began. The couch has storage
underneath and acts like a twin size bed and there's outlets tucked inside that storage area
plus outlets built onto the sofa itself and it's perfect for just hanging out and charging devices.
For the kids we built a set of bunk beds. One of them has a desk but that could easily be
converted into a small closet or a cozy dining room depending on division. In the back there's
a room for a queen size mattress and a 55 inch tv. We even installed skylights in the bedroom,
the kitchen and the bathroom so you can literally stargaze at night from anywhere in the bus.
There's an rv fan that blows in and out and a 10,000 btu air conditioning unit.
It's been more than enough for us though depending on where you live you can always add another.
The gold tinted windows help block uv rays while still gives you privacy and natural light.
It's very peaceful in here and yes Tidal's already been converted to an rv. It's clean
and ready for its next adventure. Now the bus isn't completely finished but we're open
to finishing the rest for a little extra or you can make it your own project and add the final
touches if you want. We're selling it at this point because we found land to build our dream
home. Just enough space to grow our family but this bus has been more than a project. It's been
a safe space, our adventure and a big part of our story. We hope whoever gets the next will feel
just as home as we did.
