Oregon's Outback Hot Spring

I'm the Rockhopper, and today we're setting out to find a hot spring in the Outback. We're going to a remote hot spring today on a rough and muddy road. Through the snow, and the slush, and the mush, and the mud. Woo-hoo! Hot spring time! Out here in the great void, in the desolate and yet beautiful, most remote and hidden wastelands in the interior of Oregon, is concealed a hot spring, tucked away by the vastness. If we can find the hot spring, warmth and comfort await us in the otherwise frigid desolation. Look at that view out there. That's some good country. We're in the big and wild country again, back in the Outback. Here's a view of the great beyond. And the cows. There's a few ranches out here, but not many. It's getting a bit rougher now. Oh, it's getting real messy now. Real nice and messy. Keep it on the road. Wow, hello. We must be getting close by now, I hope. Hello, come on. Yeah, getting a little sideways there for a sec. School bus ahead. Out here, somebody might go to school. There's a lonely looking ranch way out here. Check out that old sign. Camp C.F. Smith begun May 1866 to protect Oregon Miller and Lux Cattle Empire in 1887, I guess that says. Yep, that's a lonely looking ranch way out here. It's getting late. The sun just set. I think we're going to have to take a chance here. Try this path here. There's some locals. I hope this gets us there. I guess we'll find out. It's getting late. I think I got a feeling we might be onto something here. I think this is it. I see steam. And I see a pool. Oh yeah. Oh yeah, we found it. Hot springs, baby. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Out in the frigid snowy wastes is a hot spring. There it is. That's going to feel real good tonight. Because I would imagine the temperature is going to drop down to about 25 degrees. And that's going to feel so nice. I can hear a lone coyote out in the distance. Did you hear him? Found this place just in the nick of time. It'll be getting dark real soon. Look at that nice steamy water. Inviting, eh? But it was a rugged trip to get here. On a messy road. Looks like the road took quite a toll on the car there. I've got to tape that thing back up now. A little guard for the axle. Looks like it took a chunk of it right out. Oh yeah, that feels pretty good. Oh yeah, that feels real nice. Needless to say, in an area so remote and with no people around, the hot spring is clothing optional. So I'm going to turn the camera off now and jump in with my birthday suit. Old fog veiled in a shroud of history. So I parked it for the night at the hot springs. Probably got down to about 29 last night. And today, it's a really cold fog. It's probably about 30 degrees right now. So I'm going to jump in with my birthday suit. I'm going to jump in the hot spring again. Because it sounds like a really good idea right now. That was wonderful. But it's time to hit the road and get on to our next adventure. Wherever that may take us. I hope you enjoyed this journey to a remote hot spring in the Oregon Outback.
