00:00 Thank you for stopping by IM Best Reviews YouTube Channel Today.
00:10 Today, we are going to take a look at the important things that make Christmas a lovely time of year for all.
00:18 Then we are going to go on a journey Worldwide and check out a couple of countries that celebrate the holidays:
00:22 First in “warm – even hot weather, Australia and New Zealand.
00:27 Then in “cold or snowy weather,” such as Hungary And Estonia.
00:37 The last country we will visit is Tunisia – where the Star Wars movies were filmed. They celebrate “The International Festival Of The Sahara.”
00:47 Many think of a “white Christmas, the beauty of lights and candles; and Christmas Trees. And vacations for some. There is Hot Chocolate. Also candy and gingerbread houses. And beautiful ornaments along with stockings of every type. There are Christmas parties. Also, the Mistletoe for kissing that favorite person. And presents. Also Christmas carols. And Santa Claus and his reindeer. Giving to the less fortunate is important. But of course, the birth of Jesus, Christ-child – the whole meaning of Christmas.
02:11 Let’s Check Out Australia:
You will hear choirs ringing in the season in the Malls and Christmas Markets. Plus, delicious baked goods and handmade gifts. They do roast prawns on a barbecue in heat sometimes up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit on Christmas Day. Aussies surf the waves instead of riding in a sleigh. They exchange gifts while enjoying a hot meal. They do hang stockings, decorate their homes and the Christmas tree. Decorations in their homes consist of many flowers and other plants. They may even take a dip in the ocean or play cricket. And some even build a snowman made of sand!
03:23 Let’s Head For New Zealand Next:
As in Australia, Christmas is Summertime in New Zealand. Many people enjoy spending time at the beaches for their Christmas Holiday! Santa parades with floats are seen in many NZ towns. The children leave carrots out for Santa along with some pineapple chunks or a beer. Kiwis (New Zealanders) have their own special Christmas Tree, the Pohutukawa. These trees blossom in mid-December with bright red flowers. Shrimps and fish may be barbecued for a Christmas lunch. Christmas crackers are popular as they are festive table decorations but when pulled open have a small gift inside.
04:33 Next, let’s head for Hungary and cold and snow!
The whole month of December is like a Fairytale in Hungary. You will find three central tram lines decked out with dazzling fairytale lights. They prepare for Christmas with the celebration of Advent. Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas. There are four candles that are lit one at a time. Each Sunday before Christmas, they light one additional candle until the last one is lit on Christmas Eve. The Hungarian version of Saint Nicholas is St. Mikulas. The children wait for Mikulas by leaving their polished boots in their windows on December 5. The good children will find treats in their boots. But if the child has been naughty, he may find dry twigs in their boots instead of treats. St. Nicholas Day or St. Mikulas Day is celebrated on December 6th. He visits the kids in their schools. On December 24, the families get together to enjoy eating together and celebrate and exchange gifts. The Hungarian Christmas Dinner consists of carp fish soup, fried fish, turkey, stuffed cabbage, and beigli, which is a pastry roll filled with nuts. The children are told that Baby Jesus brings the tree already decorated along with the gifts on Christmas Eve and not Santa Claus.
06:34 Let’s Head For Estonia next.
Estonia is of Scandinavian origin, and they both use the word “Jul,” which signifies the Christmas Holiday. Tallinn, Estonia is an old city but has ornate architecture and cobblestone streets. The first Christmas tree in Europe was displayed in Tallinn in 1441. The Christmas Tree is still the most important part of the Christmas Holiday there. They also have some of the most exquisite Christmas markets ever seen.
09:00 Next, Let’s head for Tunisia – The International Festival Of The Sahara.
Famed As The Shooting Location For The Star Wars Movies, is The Mid-Eastern Town Of Douz, Tunisia. They don’t celebrate Christmas, but for the last four days of December, the Arabic tribes living there transform this sandy desert into a magnificent spectacle. They enjoy the sand-hockey tournaments, delicious food, and craft fairs. And the Mesmerizing music and acts of dare and dexterity. Plus horse racing and camel fights. Belly dancers and acrobatics will be everywhere. You will see men with white clothes and headdresses along with women with their sparkly hijabs there
