00 In this video, we'll take a look at some impressive and diverse Christmas and holiday celebrations worldwide. From traditional Christmas events to creative and festive celebrations from all over the world, this video has something for everyone!

10 Today, we are going to take a look at the important things that make Christmas a lovely time of year for all. Then we are going to go on a journey Worldwide and check out a couple of countries that celebrate the holidays. First in countries with warm – even hot weather, then in countries with icy cold weather.

46 When we think of Christmas And The Holidays, we think of a “white Christmas, snowmen and snowflakes.” Also, the beauty of lights and candles; and Christmas Trees that brighten your day. Of course, vacations for some. Then there is Hot Chocolate. Also candy and cookies, eggnog, and gingerbread houses. Beautiful ornaments along with stockings of every type to fill. There are the Christmas Parties where we can enjoy time with workmates and friends or family. And the Ugly Christmas Sweaters – just for fun. Also, the Mistletoe for kissing that favorite person. We love Christmas Carols. And Santa Claus and his reindeer. Giving to the less fortunate is especially important also. But of course, the birth of Jesus, Christ-child – the whole meaning of Christmas.

10 Let’s Check Out Australia: You will hear choirs ringing in the season in the Malls and Christmas Markets. Plus, delicious baked goods and handmade gifts. There will be no snow there. Aussies surf the waves instead of riding in a sleigh. They exchange gifts sometimes in their homes while enjoying a hot meal of turkey or seafood, pasta, salads, desserts, and ice cream! Decorations in their homes consist of many flowers and other plants. They may even take a dip in the ocean or play cricket. And some even build a snowman made of sand!

20 Let’s Head For New Zealand Next: As in Australia, Christmas is Summertime in New Zealand. Many people enjoy spending time at the beaches for their Christmas Holiday! Kiwis (New Zealanders) have their own special Christmas Tree, the Pohutukawa. They grow to be exceptionally large trees and have bright red flowers on them. These trees blossom in mid-December until the second week in January which is perfect for the Christmas season.

31 Next, let’s head for Hungary and cold and snow! The whole month of December is like a Fairytale in Hungary. You will find three central tram lines decked out with dazzling fairytale lights. They prepare for Christmas with the celebration of Advent. Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas. Four candles are lit one at a time. Each Sunday before Christmas, they light one additional candle until the last one is lit on Christmas Eve. The Hungarian version of Saint Nicholas is St. Mikulas. The children wait for Mikulas by leaving their polished boots in their windows on December 5. The good children will find treats in their boots. But if the child has been naughty, he may find dry twigs in their boots instead of treats.

33 Let’s Head For Estonia next. Estonia is of Scandinavian origin, and they both use the word “Jul,” which signifies the Christmas Holiday. Tallinn, Estonia is an old city but has ornate architecture and cobblestone streets. It has lovely churches and vibrant rooftops. A club of unmarried retailers set it up, and they would sing and dance around the Christmas Tree!
Some older traditions include going to a sauna or steam bath on Christmas day. The Christmas Tree is still the most important part of the Christmas Holiday there. Each year on 24 December, the mayor of Tallinn declares Christmas Peace from the balcony of the medieval city hall. St. Nicholas Day or St. Mikulas Day is celebrated on December 6th. He visits the kids in their schools.

00 Next, Let’s head for Tunisia – The International Festival Of The Sahara.
Famed As The Shooting Location For The Star Wars Movies, The Mid-Eastern Town Of Douz, Tunisia Is Often Labelled The Sleepy “Gateway To The Sahara.” They don’t celebrate Christmas, but for the last four days of December (December 27-31), the Arabic tribes living there transform this sandy desert into a magnificent spectacle. People enjoy the sand-hockey tournaments, delicious food, craft fairs, and more. Plus, there are Mesmerizing music and acts of dare and dexterity. Unique events include horse racing, camel fights, more dancing, and music.
