Hey everybody, it's Tess. Welcome back to my channel. Today I am showing you how I glaze
this mug using underglaze transfers and underglaze to paint hand-painted flowers.
As you see, I'm just cutting out my underglaze transfer. These are from Elan transfers. I love
this little chicken. A while back I saw a mug of a chicken with flowers all around it and I just
thought it was really springy and fun and I kind of wanted to just do my own version of it. Here
I am just placing my underglaze transfer onto my bisqueware mug and this transfer is from Elan
transfers. I just use a little bit of water and I'm just checking it to see if it's ready. It's
not quite ready yet so I'm going to go back and just press it on a little bit more. I love waiting
to the bisqueware stage to put transfers on because I feel like it gives me the time to be
creative. Now I'm just taking it off and then I just go in with a number two pencil. Make sure
it's a number two that way your glaze will still cover it. Sometimes some pencils will act as like
a wax resist. So I'm just going in and I'm just kind of like lightly sketching what I would like
to be around this chicken. Just some flowers, some hearts, some tulips, some little vines,
and yeah if you use a number two pencil on these you can just you can sketch it, you can erase it,
and your glaze will cover it and then everything will be burned off in the kiln.
And then I just go in after this with my speedball underglazes. I'll have these linked below. You can
find them on Amazon which is really nice. I really like these ones because they're very consistent
in their coloring. I feel like a lot of the time they really come out really similar to the color
that you're using. Where a lot of times I feel like sometimes I'm like what color is this going
to turn out or is this pink going to turn out? Every time I feel like I've had a good experience
bit and then give the bottom some wax resist. So here I'm just dipping my mug into our wax resist.
We just put some wax into an old skillet pan that we heat up and then I'm just dipping it into our
2167 mixing studio clear. And yeah this is the best clear ever on the market. And just gonna
clean up my bottom here. So nice with the wax resist. Very minimal cleanup and she's ready to
go into the kiln. Here I'm putting my mugs into the kiln and I will show you what they look like
after. Everything I used will be linked in my bio. Please check it out and if you have any questions
please let me know. Anyway hope you guys are doing well and I hope to have more of these videos up
soon. Thank you!
