'seq' - print a sequence of numbers - Video Man Pages

'seq' is a command that generates a sequence of numbers and prints it to standard output.

- Output a sequence from 1 to 10:
seq 10

- Output every third number from 1 to 25:
seq 1 3 25

- Separate the output with a space instead of a newline:
seq -s " " 1 3 25

- Format output width to a minimum of 4 digits padding with zeros as necessary:
seq -f "%04g" 10

- Equalize output width by padding with leading zeroes.
seq -w 100

- Create five new files titled [1-5].txt:
touch $(seq 5).txt
