Play doh, Lego, and magnet numbers; could you teach the child the English numbers by using these different tools? Let us take you through a trip of education that will give parents a new lesson idea to teach kids the different numbers.
Start with the magnets, go further with the Lego, and end up with the play doh. These are the three different things needed in this game in addition to the white board and the marker that the parent will need to use at specific times.
At the beginning of the game, ask the child to choose a magnet letter and ask them what number is that they have got. This is important because it will examine the kids' knowledge. The next step is asking the child to do that number out of Lego blocks and check whether the Lego they have created is correct or not. The last step is making the number with play-doh and this is considered the hardest because some kids are not yet aware of how to write down the numbers and thus might need a little bit of assistance.
Help your child if they felt like they need some kind of assistance to write down the number with the play doh snake that they have created, because not knowing how to write it in the first place could cause such a struggle. First, let the child trace the number with their finger and draw that number in the air, and second help the child by writing the letter on the white board to help the child in writing the letter with the play doh over it.
This is really a good game to teach the kids through because in addition to learning the English numbers and how to write them down, it also teaches the child the counting skills (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3q7imQuRBQ) and at the same time work on their fine motor skills since they will be trying to form the number from the play doh and will be also choosing the colors of the Lego blocks which they are going to use.
There are lots of different creative games and activities that parents could use and depend on in order to teach their kids the English numbers and they always turn out to be effective because kids love to play with Lego and play doh - you will find them in almost any home - and because they also find them a little bit challenging and thus will need to keep up with such challenge.
There are different educational videos on our channel which are used for teaching the kids numbers and how to count. There are the regular counting methods and songs which are used out there, there are those which will teach the child to count with using the fingers and the toes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jkrRRXgFq8), there are those videos which could even let them know how to count backwards and increase their counting skills (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5gutmYmsaA) and all these come in addition to the different games which the kids tend to play with their parents to learn counting (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ART8iVG3yHg).
When it comes to math, there are other things and lessons which the kids will go through, such as learning the different mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and then go further with the difficulty of all of them.
The first step is always the easiest but when the kids start in the right way at the beginning, they manage to understand the steps coming after much better and could handle them in a better way. So always choose the right methods and lessons and help your child to enjoy what they are doing in order to manage recognizing it later on.
There are lots of math games for kids that could teach them to write numbers. When you choose a specific number, make sure that your child knows it in general even without knowing how it should be written down. James knows the numbers from 1 to 9 but he still didn't learn how to write them down, so that's why we were sure about him knowing the numbers that he was choosing from the magnets.
