Science Bob’s top secret at home elephant toothpaste recipe:
A clean 16 ounce (473 ml) plastic soda bottle or a water bottle.
6 Ounces of 20-volume hydrogen peroxide liquid (20-volume is a 6% solution that is stronger than what you find in most pharmacies. It is typically used for lightening hair and is found at many beauty supply stores. You can use the 3% hydrogen peroxide found in pharmacies, but the reaction will be a bit smaller)
1 Tablespoon (15ml – one packet) of dry yeast
3+ Tablespoons (15 ml) of warm water
Liquid dishwashing soap
Food coloring

BIG Elephant Toothpaste Reaction
CAUTION: This reaction uses dangerous chemicals thatch cause chemical burns or even blindness. This demonstration should only be done by by trained professionals.
In a 5L flask:
250 ml 30% (not 30 volume) hydrogen peroxide
30ml liquid dish soap
30ml food coloring.
Add
75ml sodium iodide solution (2M)
The foam may have unreacted peroxide which could cause a chemical burn and so it should not be touched.
