GETTING OUR FILIPINO DRIVERS LICENSE! Driving Test in Manila So Different to UK

[Music] so [Music] [Laughter] been here over a year still using these for data good morning guys welcome to a brand new vlog i'm just learning some data on my phone the reason that we've been using these is that we've been connecting to wi-fi pretty much for the whole of quarantine and we don't have like a post pay prepaid post paid account so if we want internet or 3g outside we've got to use one of these top-up cards these remind me of when mobile phones first came out and you have to actually load credit that's exactly what we're doing four two three good morning guys and it is definitely the morning this morning nice early start 7am start this morning today is an exciting day because it's something that we've been wanting to do for a while we've had to wait for georgia's license to arrive so we can finally get it converted over and same as mine we've got both of our valid uk driving licenses today we're gonna get our philippines driving licenses which is a huge step and it's a really cool um it's gonna be a really cool thing to have it means that once things start opening up again we can head back out on the road so this morning we're heading over to the lto office in quezon city and we've got to do a medical test we've got to take a practical driving exam i feel like i'm 17 again taking my driving test because our licenses are designed for people that drive on the left so right hand drive and because we're from a country that's like that you have to do any actual exam you can't just convert it with paperwork so we're going to do that today fingers crossed we passed i don't know what the exam's like apparently it's on their test track and we get to like rent one of their cars we get basically get tested we do an exam and we have a certain amount of points that you can i think it's like i was reading last night about it and i don't know if this is an outdated version that i was reading but it said something like you have to get 30 out of 40 correct or i think it starts at 40 and then every mistake you make knocks points off i might be wrong i'll correct you guys later once we actually have some more information but yeah we need a medical exam a driving exam and the actual physical conversion so they're going to be going into the office today getting them to transfer it all over and i think they're going to give us a temporary license today until our official one arrives in the post so a bit of an admin day it's going to be great having it all sorted out and mike and nelly are on their way over to us now we're very kindly uh driving us there today because we don't have a car currently so that was super super kind of them guys they're driving us over early start for all of us today and we really appreciate it so we've got everything we need so we're just waiting for them to get here downstairs and we'll be on the way over to caitlyn city [Music] we're now going to on medical first this one her driving license [Music] that sounds right [Music] another room not sure what this part is but we'll find out [Music] just taken now for the licenses yep yeah that's good correct number 12 45 6 3. thank you so much it's our medical section complete so far so good we're now heading it's a very short walk to the lto right next door pretty much where hopefully it'll be just as smooth in there as well [Applause] just one round and we're going back from where it started parking can we reverse it okay time for the practical exam wish us luck okay george is just heading off on his one we're going one block around this little test track here if we hit any cones gutted or drive on the wrong side of the road automatic fail so that's what we're going to avoid today and i think we've got little ramps here that we've got to go up as well we're driving the manual cars so should be nice and easy but let's see [Music] [Applause] [Music] somewhere [Music] we both passed we're gonna get our licenses we did it everyone's been so helpful and friendly here we'll tell you a bit more about the process later but when it's less noisy when it's less noisy yeah that's all good so we do want to quickly say a quick thank you to everyone at the lto because you guys have been really helpful with us today you've helped us every step of the way with all the form filling the practical exam all the scanning the copying yeah quite a long process but it's been made a lot easier with the help of the people absolutely so we caught some of your names but all of you all of you guys in this office thank you you're awesome and also um it's just so like friendly an office like this that you might go to in the uk it's a little bit more like scary to go into but we've been making very welcome everything's been very nice and like even on their facebook they're like oh if you've got any questions it's better just to ask than than worry about it it's like it's just so nice that you feel so at ease getting stuff sorted it's been a nice smooth process for us um also reminds me of when i used to work in an office yeah it's like the camaraderie between the staff and staff hanging out at different desks it's nice to get an insight it's cool to see an insight into different people's worlds but no i'm glad we passed that i mean i didn't expect to say but also i haven't driven a manual car in years so it went well and the biking point was extremely high compared to what i've been used to so i was like riding it a little bit but it was all good but i think mike and nelly are back outside waiting for i think they grabbed a coffee and now they're back outside waiting for us speaking of coffee [Music] guys thanks for the ride [Music] are you serious i'm serious and we're picking up today not tomorrow that that that's i
