BEST INTERVIEW EVER!

i wanted to interview my dad because he's been working so hard on his song this is war so i wanted to ask him a few questions about it okay what inspired you to make the song oh wow that's a great question right off the gate whenever me and mommy first got married um it's a process learning to live with each other um when you have kids with each other that's a whole another process you have to make a choice to love every single day and sometimes you don't always feel like you want to love somebody but you have to make the decision and the action to love somebody and so that's essentially what the song is about okay how long have you been doing music so i started playing music when i was like 12 or 13 i was playing guitar got my first guitar and then i eventually started playing in like my youth group uh worship band and then after that i started playing outside of the church um when i was like 18 or 19. i actually played a couple of bands up into like my mid-20s and then i kind of stopped doing music for a little while and then i just decided i really you know love playing music and it's always been like my first passion um the thing i've always just really loved and always kind of come back to so i and i was just like i can't give up writing i need like i just really i'd always hear music i'd always hear songs in my head i'd always want to like write and so i just started within the last year writing again and you know i've been in my little closet that's where i've been recording and now um here we are about to release my first song i've been happily busily working on for the last few months what was your very first song oh my very first song oh no but i'm gonna tell you my very first song i ever wrote you know what the song is called what it's called he's in my pocket and it was about jesus and it was about and it goes like this i'm going to sing it for you i still remember how it goes it's like he's in my pocket and i never change my pants sometimes i get them dirty but he washes them clean again that's how it goes and i was like i was like 12 years old when i wrote that let me ask you a question do you want to play music yeah do you want to write music yeah we gotta teach you how to do it right yeah maybe we could write a song together one day yeah that'd be cool yeah okay so many years somebody yes when you see dad working on music does it inspire you sometimes yeah like how for one i think it's cool how you go on the computer and you know do all those little things when you see daddy chasing something that as a dream of his does it feel make you feel like that you can chase your dreams too yeah do you have any merch i do have some merch i actually have a shirt right here we have two shirts we i have two shirts this one says worth fighting for it's got hands holding down here and then i have another one that's got the same hands but it's uh black with white text and it says this is war where can you not where's my slide my hair oh sticking up oh i appreciate this i've never had an interviewer fix my hair for me before this is great you never had an interviewer have you i have it she got me called me out when is your song this is war coming out and how can people listen to it yeah this is wars coming out july 13th and people can listen to it on all streaming um devices you can actually go to jonathan jonathanmurraymusic.com right now sign up for the email list when you do that you'll get an email to get a sample of the song that's the only way you can hear it before it's released but you can also pre-order it through itunes and you can pre-save it on spotify but it'll be streaming on all places so you can hear anywhere music is streamed and i'll have a lyric video on youtube wow she was excited for that one thank you for coming today i had a really good time with you oh you did yeah don't tell my wife just kidding thanks bud i enjoyed this thanks for setting this all up you're welcome we'll do it again sometime okay all right but maybe with a new sock i like it high five that was good
