We Are LEAVING THE UK!

pack our bags and get in that car leave a little note and we'll drive real far let's get out we [Music] do i like this hat i like it does it look weird it means we're going on a trip and we're leaving the uk for the first time i've ruined my hair i've got hot hair since last year middle of last year nearly a whole year nearly a whole year that's crazy coder is very excited he is we have spent ages packing lucy as always amazing at packing a huge long list of things extra stuff you need to take with a baby luckily we're taking the big car with us i've packed it it's all ready to go and we are hitting the road 8 30 in the morning are you ready codes first time abroad first time out of england imagine having never been out of england and this is his first day at five months old his first international trip excited oh nice shot it's good right have they already seen that uh i'll put it in now no it's really really been in there hasn't it i reckon it's already been the intro all right guys it feels good to be on the road lucy is taking the first bit of the drive we have our google maps set up here it's sweaty but look at look at the weather check i'm i'm going i'm going 10 out of 10. it is really i mean i'm in a very good mood because we're heading out on a trip i'm going to give it a nine it's a bit too hot it's not hot in here because the aircon is fixed in this car yes this car does have its own sat nav but it's ancient i would not recommend and it's kind of it looks like one way is it it looks like what um the early explorers used to use to discover countries i don't think that's right but it's not far so coda oh i forgot he's riff he's facing that way you won't be able to see him so lucy is actually we're going to swap the driving share the driving a little bit lucy's going to hop in the back with coda for most of the journey um i we've had some coffee i'm thinking we pick up some breakfast on this journey says okay so i don't know what the breakfast option is going to be but we did want to just get on the road we haven't eaten just yet and obviously we're going to need another coffee very soon but uh for now we're going to hit the road head over to the motorway and that's all thank you thank you we are picking up coffee we've been doing pretty well actually there was a little bit of traffic and we got slightly concerned however it passed and now we're at a little cost to drive through picking up two iced americanos i'm going to run in and get a little bit of food as well yes not from here though hey hi you're going to bed so much thank you there appears to be some sort of ferrari meet here one two three five ferraris nice okay so we've just arrived at the um terminal still in england and we went through we've never done this before so we didn't really know where to go but there's those are signs saying france this way and they've given us a little hanger here that we can pop on the windscreen three people and we've been given the large car um sticker so that means that we're going to not be in the double decker it's going to be the single level um i think we're literally about half a centimeter out from being on the double um obviously if it was an access mode it'd be okay but but i think it's something like yeah like point four of a centimeter out of um it being the other way around but i'm happy that we've got a bit more space anyway so that's gonna be quite nice but let me just pop this little hanger on now i need to just pop it out of this i'm going to try and do it one-handed but no i need two hands and also no one told us what time we need to board so we don't really know when to board so we don't want to be obviously missing it i think it's like half an hour before or something i think we're just going to go and use the loo and get a bit of fresh air and then head over and but yeah should be good so i assume it needs to be facing outwards pop it on here okay perfect okay we are pulling in now to the terminal do you call it a terminal yeah yeah i suppose so um this is our first experience pretty cool i'm just on the phone i've been using this phone for sat nav so i thought oh i can just film a little blog oh nice defender there so yes this is our very first experience of crossing the channel tunnel if i mean i'm sure everyone watching those but if on the oh look at her cool she's got her dogs and some passengers in a very very cool defender nice yeah if there's anyone watching doesn't know then the euro tunnel is it connects england to france under the sea just like that song thank you lucy where do we go loose it's just straight ahead yeah i think any of them not like tall vehicles right it's just snorkeling yeah but we're not a lottery okay i'll just i'll just i don't know i've never done it before we're early it's incredibly busy um yeah we've left plenty of time to be able to do this because we just never done it oh my god [Music] what is this oh right is this where you put your card in do you have to pay i don't know maybe it's passport scanning anyway oh yeah maybe um apparently it's 40 meters under the sea it's freaking out there's another range rover i think i'm going to feel a bit claustrophobic because we're trapped underneath a lot of land we are yeah will it be claustrophobic i don't know i don't think you even get out of your car i think you can if you want to but you just sit in your car it takes about 35 minutes good fun new experience new travel experience for us feels good to be on the road feels good to be mobile i suppose and koda's first time abroad i think it's whichever left like left or right hand drive you are so i need to go over there yeah because how am i i can't reach over to that window straight ahead it's good no because that's pointing left no it's not it's that's where the ticket yeah the ticket machine's on the left got it yeah why people beeping like everyone's trying to get around okay i need to go over there then don't i you need to win the next one over i think oh why people beeping i don't really know i mean there's gonna be people who do this all the time and then there's newbies like us there's a nice looking family on the right if you give them a smile they might let you in oh yeah all right let's try okay wish us luck [Music] hmm [Music] okay guys got my little co-pilot with me this is so sweet we've um we've boarded now and we are sat on the train just waiting to go over it's 35 minutes and it's so cool i hope you enjoyed that little time lapse of us boarding if you've never done this yeah so fun like it's so much more fun than flying i just realized this is all out of focus because it's on the wrong setting one second all right that should be better and now look this is so sweet because when i was coders age and older i used to drive on my dad's lap on like private roads car parks that kind of thing where it was legal and safe so now it's like history repeating itself and he seems to have a very big interest in the steering wheel don't you you're driving oh yeah you're gonna help me drive go on you can drive there we go wow wow coda you're leading the way sir coming through why is he just looking [Music] well done you're driving bye oh she's waving okay driving off wow thank you bye driving off in a very sunny france we made it that was a really really good experience actually 30 minutes 35 minutes we're gonna put these on it's a beautiful day here and now we're being funneled um onto like a main road basically so you drive off that is so easy that's so cool exit sortie okay and now i have to remember i have to get my head back in the mindset of driving on the right hand side of the road which i haven't done since manila but i drove there for two years in the philippines um so i should i just need to try and like muscle memory remember the roads remember the rules but obviously i'm sat on the different side of the car so i just need to like try and flick my brain back into that but here we are juicy vlog in france heading down to lim how did you find it loose good how did you find it coda nicely cool this is super exciting [Music] towards leon thank you i'm driving in france there's a whistle can you hear that whistle i don't know where that's coming from i'm just trying to get used to it we're back on waze again and that's what we used to use in manila all the time so it's very very familiar um but the cars obviously the speed done in front of media miles per hour so i need to keep an eye on my speed on the kilometers per hour on waze and into these lights massive lorries pull over to the left if you can just floor it and go left so we're going to share a little bit of the driving but this is cool we're we're being like those classic english people driving abroad and being extra careful of like lane crossings and all sorts got a few french drivers giving us looks already but i'm just going to do our thing be as safe as possible and it's a beautiful day this is so reminding me of our old road trips back in the day philippines actually it's quite like that because this road is going through big open fields which was a highlight of those old road trips but we i think are going to hit the road put a little bit of music on don't even know if we get radio here the raiders already been hit no i know we're gonna continue to continue to hit the road and enjoy this cruise down to lille it's only i think it's only what does it say here one hour and three minutes i think we're gonna our plan is because we have no idea about food or anything on the way so i think we're gonna get to the city powered through we stopped at services but there were some not very nice looking sandwiches for 13 euros yeah it's like the first thing you see yeah isn't always going to be the best thing so we're going to rather be hungry and get something really good get into the city do a little bit of food research and then get something to eat because i don't about you but i'm super ready for food we meet myself as far as i'm supposed to let him go welcome to little [Music] tried to order a quick coffee to go but they don't do takeaway so i'm just having to stand here but it's beautiful early evening the sun is shining we've arrived at our hotel uh mama shelter which we will show you just in a minute well have a look around let me put this down i'll i'll grab the camera show you the atmosphere here it's beautiful okay so here i am on the streets of lille found this what's this place called actually i know it's also a brewery as well a little bit too early for a beer but managed to just park the range rover which has been an amazing car for this journey by the way just pulled up on the road here our hotel car park is just through there and i'm just enjoying a quick coffee here um yeah they can't do take out so i'm having to quickly down this double espresso then we're gonna get to our room check in and maybe go out this evening maybe stay at the hotel we've got a couple of days here to explore so a lot of you guys said in the comments you wanted us to daily vlog this trip and that is exactly what we're doing so look out for the vlog subscribe if you're not subscribed it feels good to be traveling again brand new place for us [Music] okay guys we are in our room and you've missed it we've missed it it is finally once again time for a juicy vlog room tour felt so good to say that genuinely felt really really good to say that loose okay the tour begins here in this dark entrance way which gives full effect for the light coming in from this way we've got a little safe area and some places to hang some clothes this is like the entrance way the perfect place for buggy down here and then this is a nicer this is the xxl i think it's called it's their biggest room which is perfect for four people i believe this is actually a sofa bed but we won't be using it and it's nice to have the extra space we've got a nice sofa here the view is amazing but there's a nice huge window here we'll show you that in the bedroom with the same view artwork on the walls we've got some coffee facilities these nice little chairs with a massive tv and then into sort of the main room oh you can't close actually if you wanted to this is the main room so this is a nice big bed another tv here with a little bench i think we've got some little treats in the corner there but what happened this looks good oh i'm loving the look of something what is this cookie let's look now look look look look look look there i've just noticed something what's this cool okay we've got games as well but yeah what about this what about this mama [Music] wow cookies we will enjoy those tonight in bed with a movie how does that sound there's more more cookies later on with the tour okay my favorite part of this room i think is the view now we're going to be facing into the light is it going to come out on camera as well as it is let me turn wow are you opening it gorgeous view across the city here oh that's terrifying why are there masks here maybe maybe we don't want to know why they're hanging on the bed there's also over here a spider-man mask yes okay and then we go into the bathroom here nice double sink area these are cool it's already like funky isn't it it's a really unusual decor we've got some pink walls some nice white tiles and they write on the mirror everywhere in white pen which is i've never seen before it's very cool nice walk-in shower nice and echoey and then the toilet's through there which leads to a secret door with direct access too this is what you terrified me coda hello did you make you jump sorry was that a bit of a surprise are you in front and that concludes the juicy vlog room tour wow been a while we need to unpack been a while yes let's do that okay guys i'm gonna speak a little bit loudly so you can hear me over the music but we are at the sunset party and we have brought coda with us appropriate or not i don't know but they said he was allowed so he's allowed he's invited as well and it's actually not too loud this is kind of the volume we have our music at home actually they have given us a gift here which is very very kind of them this is cool i'm about to match you so i can walk around i'm not going to wear an album i'll put that on later that'll be handy for the sun tomorrow [Music] wow this is unreal we have a view of sunset and this epic view it's like i'm in a loft room in someone's house but i'm actually on the sixth floor of a hotel room of a hotel look at that sunset behind me so beautiful wow what a nice evening it felt really nice to be able to have a few drinks in like a sort of party atmosphere um but then obviously getting to go to bed early and having the excuse of having a baby and code is to sleep in his travel pot now and um it's actually really nice because it means that we get to enjoy the sort of fun drinky kind of stuff oh coda's awake daddy um it means we get to enjoy that kind of fun drinking stuff but like i said we've got the excuse of having a baby meaning you have to come home early and get an early night which is very much new today and there was quite a few delays in the tunnel this morning and it meant that the journey took a little bit longer than expected we hope to actually sort of get out this evening but we ended up being invited to this party instead which is actually just down there so we're on the same floor as a party it's literally just down there on the roof terrace and but this is amazing you can see the moon up here i'm hanging the camera out the window but don't worry it's strapped onto my wrist very securely and it's just beautiful i it's so french it's unreal like i've i've only been to france i've been to monaco for a day on a cruise and i came to france when i was a little kid for literally the day we got the ferry over got went to a shop and then went home i don't know why i've got some memory of it but getting to look out and be here and looking at all these sort of like french looking buildings and stuff is super special and it's code's first time abroad which makes it even more amazing i think we did good to get him abroad and fight by five months old and that's quite good going um and he's been amazing today he's been in the car for quite a lot of the day we've got him out loads and he was socializing with some french people this evening at the party um he's a very well traveled baby now but i think we're going to pick this vlog up again tomorrow i don't know if this might be enough for a whole video i don't know if this is the end of a vlog or i think this is the end of the first vlog as well i think we filmed quite a lot today we often don't know what we're doing with these videos and we just film and see what sort of comes out of them um at the end of the day but what a lovely day thank you for watching today's
