Why Our Family Can't Travel With Us

not the best angle hello everyone welcome back to another video it's totally awkward I don't know why I feel this is my first ever Vlog and I don't know how to start it I literally just filmed the Reel about that about like starting your first Vlog or your first podcast or starting a business like don't be put off by the opinion of others or thinking that everyone's judging you because in reality they're probably not even watching or they don't care I didn't think anyone was judging me but now I know some people don't start because they're worried about that so we are currently in what they call the gym of this house uh we're in Alabang hotel room views very cool that's Laguna Lake and I'm currently looking down SLX and I can see it for quite a while actually and it goes right into the mountains there is that Batangas the mountains hard to say I think it might be because manila's behind me so that would make sense for it to be Batangas but I'm not 100 sure but today we are meeting our good friends the keto family and actually and actually we learned recently that that word means something a little different in bicol I'm not gonna say any more than that but if you know you know anyway moving on and they're actually going to come over to Alabang to meet up with us today and we're gonna get some food together before heading back to BTC together later sorry my hair I'm not having a good hair day so we're very excited to see those guys possibly equally as excited to eat a bungalow again no I'm kidding but no we do love Bungalow Joe seems to be making an absolute racket behind me is everything okay over there guys life with a one-year-old life of the one-year-old but we're gonna get going now we're actually checking out of this hotel today and so we packed up all of our bags we had some breakfast here and now it's time to go George went to the gym I went to the gym yesterday what are you doing I'm just trying to entertain the boy with ladles yes and I you know them wheels that you look it's like an ABS thing where it's like a wheel like a two sticks and a wheel in the middle and you go on your knees and you go down and then up and you try and like tense you tend to abs while you're doing it my top ABS here oh my god it feels like I've been beaten up it literally feels like I've been in a fight with someone I look like I'm a wrestler and I'm recovering from a match and you call it a matching wrestling would you call it a fight yeah it feels like I've been beaten up slightly but that's all good and yeah we're gonna check out now so finishing one little cup of coffee and then we're gonna get some food and hang out with our mates um and also today we wanted to talk about a topic that we've had a lot of questions about recently all about our family and why whenever we come over here it's only us and our family haven't made it over yet so we're gonna go into that a little bit later but we do need to check out now welcome back to there's another one down there which we like as well um I've forgotten the name but I think someone's cooking barbecue because there's a bit of smoke in the air and it smells amazing I'm very hungry you hungry are you hungry and I have to say it feels like Philippines somewhat has definitely begun now we've been saying this whole trip how it feels more mild and we can manage the Heat and it's easy I don't know it feels super hot today and like you can't stand out in it for long because it's now midday and it's like really really hot we came in tomorrow on the way we're trying to get through to them because they've said that their journey is taking like 45 minutes but that means they're not taking the Skyway and we're trying to tell them to take the Skyway but I think their phones are off they're going to be a little bit late but that's all good um but we really want to be able to tell them to take the Skyway because it's going to be so much easier it should only take like 25 minutes to get here and it's saying 45 so fingers crossed they turn their phones back on or they get some signal if not um it's all good we'll just wait at Bungalow and get a few little bits to nibble on while we wait probably there is a sprinkler on over there and I'm half tempted to go and run into it and cool down Cody's trying to remove the fan from the buggy do you not want to have that on you vlogging just us anymore you can't get away from us so it's Sunday we thought we'd all come and hang out our Bungalow Cafe the drinks have arrived and we got some food on the way that looks amazing sockets yeah like the wall socket so nice healthy Obsession and when we say no like any parent how do you say no to your kids like we're learning because you see all this stuff on Instagram like don't say no that is the word no but use the word yes I'm not going to allow him to put his finger in a plug socket I know what's the best way to not tell him to do that because when we say no coder stop I'm here he laughs and giggles and wants to touch them more and he finds it funny yeah he now finds it funny that we're like telling him off we don't want to tell him off yeah we're not we're not like no don't do that we're not shouting at him at the moment we go code and no pick him up and move him I don't know how else so any like parental X or do you know like how instead of I literally said to him why do we play this instead and like try and distract him but then he's like laughing at all yeah I heard about ins like he likes playing with our shoes as well and obviously like the bottom of our shoes are dirty and I saw someone on Instagram said instead of saying no you can't play with that so you say you can play with this instead yeah it's like Coda we can play but we have to play with this yeah or why don't we do this one instead but if he doesn't understand that yet because he's too young he's too young we just let him do it once um not with electricity anyway we said in this Vlog we would talk about um a topic this has kind of been coming up we've been reading a ton of comments and we've been doing little q and A's here and there no we haven't [Laughter] I don't mean that I don't mean that we've been reading a lot of questions and we thought we'd do a bit of we were thinking of doing the Q a basically yeah um but one question no this is not the Q a this is this is a single question and a single answer so technically yeah because a lot of people aren't have asked it we said like if we see enough people ask the same question in messages or comments then we're more likely to talk about it because it means that more of you are interested so yeah people have been saying are your family are your family ever coming to the Philippines because I would say for the last three or four years we've kind of been talking about it on and off we said it so many times we're like yeah yeah it's happening and it never seems to happen so what I need you to do family if you're watching this sort it out all we need to do here are all the addresses of all our family yeah all where they they live on the screen now yeah um we just need you to write letters write lessons and say and convince them yeah here are the social media accounts go and send them messages no seriously there's several reasons why they haven't so far so just a quick recap if anyone's new around here and we've had several occasions where family have almost come out we've had friends visit and we actually had some friends come and they arrived two days before the Philippines went into a national lockdown terrible timing um they saw Manila for two days I think we did a good job of showing them two days we tried to show them a few things we had a full itinerary you might remember the Vlogs our friend Hannah and then they went we went into lockdown they flew to Australia and then flew to the UK said she's had a baby so that's amazing she still hasn't seen the Philippines properly um so it feels like every time we try something happens my sister your sister had flights pretty much but my sister Emily and her husband Mike they pretty much I don't think they had books but maybe they had I we had hotels planned and like lined up we had itinerary I'd made a PowerPoint presentation of all the islands they had their date so at the time booked off work yeah yeah yeah because it was like a five-week trip they actually had to apply for special time off and again because why did they not because of the pandemic again yeah yeah that was why um so that didn't happen and then your parents were talking about we're gonna come out uh that same year but later in the year my dad retired and my mum also retired but then the dates didn't work out we weren't sure when we were going to be there no no it was it was Emily and Mike were going to come in May and then I think your parents were going to come that same October so that was covered again and then we've been trying to talk about it again since but then now like work and things are getting in the way yeah my mum's now got another job because she was bored Legend she was bored in retirement so I couldn't relate I could understand that I feel like I'm never going to be able to not do something because yeah I know the thought of like I don't know if anyone's retired are you like a fan of being retired or do you have to give yourself a project I would need a ton of projects like my granddad said he was busier in retirement yeah than when he was working because he did so much he had a list like every day this this is what I'm getting done that's us I'm like you're like you're like Lucy we're finally retiring and I'm like yeah no so on Monday we're gonna do this so you're saying I've got another 80 years of this for a long time well yeah think about it 110 how long does this generation live yet we've got to start stopping towards true move on to like Popeyes or something yeah I haven't tried that anyway I don't yeah so basically long story short we've tried they really do you know how much we want to share the Philippines with our family it's wild to me like it's such a big part of our Lives it's such a big part of it it's like the biggest thing in our lives really is like a player because like this whole journey over the last five years are traveling and our lifestyle has been yeah so much and it's wild to me that when we're here Only We Know Only We Know It they watch the Vlogs but it's not the same until you come here it's 10 minutes of a 24-hour experience if you come when you come here you feel different and they haven't experienced that and yeah we can say all the people are friendly the food's good until you eat the food until you meet the people like there's there's not you can't travel around the difference and just like stuff you can't even explain to them like how like laid back it is here or how convenient or you need something done and someone will find a way to do it like things you can't really explain but you you feel when you're here it's a feeling um It's A vibe it's a mood but they will they will come out I mean like I need to come with my dad and stepmom to come out I need to convince my mom and her partner to come out like but also it's harder now because we're here less because we've got like the UK and we're trying to live these double lives and we're trying to do both my sister and niece are talking about it yeah whether or not it'll happen I don't know they've mentioned it a few times so cool can you imagine theater here my little cousin my cousin my coda's cousin my niece Thea who's seven my cousin um they really want to come out like I'd love to get so many people out here my mum and dad really want to come out yeah my mum would have an incredible time here my mom loves we need to get your car and the ocean and swimming in the sea she swims in the sea in England and I'm like sis like you don't even know like how good it is to get it forget it um but I don't think she'd do that long of a flight so I need to convince her to do that well just like we'll just book like five small flights yeah just take like five months to get over here yeah that's fine or do a cruise here how one time when we come over I want to do a crew I want to just Cruise do you think you can do that I'm pretty sure there isn't a cruise that leads from Worthing to to Manila no Southampton to Manila do you think there's a cruise that goes from southampton's Miller is there why wouldn't that be I don't think there is eventually I mean yeah different cruises and different Cruise Lines anyway um so they haven't at home yet um your sister's busy now yeah she's busy she's like renovate in her kitchen she can't make it no she can't who else got my other sister yes Jazz would love to come she would love to come but she can't make it either busy so we just sat here alone so basically it's very expensive it's a very long way so if someone say for example had like 10 days off work two of them days are traveling you've got eight days left you get over jet lag in about seven days you've got one day yeah like it's so far to come for such a short time that you'd want someone to have at least three weeks I would say as a minimum to really get into it I mean obviously any time would be amazing but you don't want to rush her you don't want to feel like you're feeling tired and all over the place and you're rushing around it's like we're in a very unique and privileged position where we don't have to book time off from an employer or we don't have to we just have to ask each other yeah or each other's bosses well we don't need to have limited time we don't have a limited time that we can do things we can choose where we are because our lifestyle isn't location dependent particularly so yeah so it's money it's time it's figuring like people have their own lives and they've got things going on in their lives they can't just take like their only massive trip of the year to come to a place that we want like they do want to come come but like it would be an entire holiday allowance for a year yeah it's very expensive it's like it cost us nearly 2 000 pounds for all three of us to fly out here just flights and then they would have to get an Airbnb or hotels they'd have to get food they'd have to travel around internal flights it'd be like three or four thousand pounds it's expensive yeah um so I do believe I I'm pretty certain that one day like all of them will have seen it like I feel like in our lifetime I can't all our family will have seen the Philippines whether or not it's soon I don't know they might come without us no way they could they might not want us on their vacation do you know what I mean hey that's so rude no do you know what I mean like they might they're much on their own space and time we can just help them on their way you know I don't think they do that nothing they'd want us to show them they've got really good tour guides here we know what we're doing it's very true yeah so yeah um just wanted to add that chatty bit into the chatty chat English is there is there a is there an equivalent in other languages like some in some English when you're speaking fast you drop certain letters like I just did with the tea chatty you never say like I don't know I don't know why that slipped out anyway yeah I just wanted to add that in um added that in for nine minutes that is it whoa so um yeah if there's any other thing burning questions on your mind then do leave a comment
