Hi, this is Mrs. Pamukchu. Let's explore science, ideas, and discoveries together.
Hi, friends. I'm Sophia. And I'm Jamal. Welcome to Buzzy Bee Friends.
Today we're going to talk about honeybees. They're little bugs that fly around and make yummy honey.
That's right, Sophia. Bees are very special insects. They help flowers and plants grow.
Wow! How do they do that, Jamal?
Well, when bees visit flowers, they move tiny bits called pollen from one flower to another.
This helps plants make seeds and fruit.
That's so cool. Bees are like little helpers for plants.
They sure are. And guess what? Bees live together in big families called hives.
Ooh, tell me more about bee families, Jamal.
In each bee family, there's one special bee called the queen.
She's like the mom of all the bees.
What does the queen bee do?
The queen bee lays eggs. These eggs grow into baby bees.
That's a big job. Are there other kinds of bees in the hive?
Yes. Most of the bees are called worker bees.
They're all girls, and they do lots of important jobs.
What kind of jobs do worker bees do?
Worker bees fly around looking for food.
They also build the hive, keep it clean, and take care of the baby bees.
Wow! Worker bees are very busy. Do they make honey, too?
Yes, they do. Worker bees make honey to feed their family during winter
when there aren't many flowers.
Yum! I love honey on my toast. It's so sweet and tasty.
Me, too. And guess what? Bees make extra honey, so we can enjoy it, too.
That's so nice of them to share. Bees are amazing.
They sure are. Did you know bees can fly really fast?
How fast can they fly, Jamal?
Bees can fly as fast as a person riding a bike.
And their little wings move super fast, too.
Wow! Bees must be very strong to fly so fast.
They are. And bees have another cool trick. They can dance.
Bees can dance? That's silly, Jamal.
It's true. Bees do a special dance called the waggle dance.
It helps them tell other bees where to find yummy flower nectar.
A waggle dance? That sounds so fun. Can we try it?
Sure. Let's pretend we're bees and waggle our bodies like this.
Buzz, buzz, wiggle, wiggle.
Buzz, buzz, wiggle, wiggle. This is fun. We're dancing like bees.
Great job, Sophia. Now let's talk about how we can help our bee friends.
Oh, yes. I want to help the bees. What can we do?
We can ask our grown-ups to plant flowers in our gardens or in pots. Bees love flowers.
That's a great idea. I love flowers, too. What else can we do?
We can also tell our friends how important bees are, and we should never hurt a bee if we see one.
You're right, Jamal. Bees are our friends, and we should be kind to them.
Exactly. And remember, if you see a bee, just let it be.
That rhymes. Let it be, just like a bee.
Well, friends, we've learned so much about bees today.
We sure have. Bees are amazing little creatures that help our flowers and give us yummy honey.
And they do a fun waggle dance, too. Buzz, buzz, wiggle, wiggle.
That's right. Thanks for joining us on Buzzy Bee Friends. Remember to be kind to bees.
Bye-bye, everyone. Keep buzzing. See you next time, friends.
Thank you for listening to Mrs. Pamukchu. Never stop learning. Never stop wondering.
