SpaceX revealed Brilliant Solution for Starship To Orbit This Month...
Last month, Starship Flight 9 was so close to making it to orbit, deploying dummy satellites and performing a controlled splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
But then... everything changed.
The spacecraft suddenly suffered a fuel leak, causing a rapid drop in pressure and loss of control. The PEZ door also failed to open. In the end, the vehicle was destroyed mid-air.
Despite the disappointment, SpaceX quickly identified the root causes and rolled out solid fixes, all to make sure Flight 10 would finally make history this month.
So, what exactly did they change to ensure it reaches LEO this time?
Let’s break down on today’s episode of Alpha Tech.
SpaceX revealed Brilliant Solution for Starship To Orbit This Month...
Starship Flight 10 is currently scheduled to launch at the end of this month, just 10 to 15 days away. To meet that deadline, SpaceX is racing against time to keep everything on track.
Ship 36, the vehicle assigned to this mission, has made some big progress. On June 15th, it was mounted on the static fire stand and rolled out to the Massey test site. Just a day later, it went through successful cryo loading, the aft flaps were tested, and it completed a single-engine static fire. A full six-engine static fire test is expected to happen soon, before the ship is rolled back to the Megabay 2 for final preparations.
Meanwhile, Booster 16 is more ready than ever. It recently completed a full-duration static fire, firing all 33 Raptor 2 engines for 20 seconds, and the raw power it unleashed was just incredible.
Notably, B16 hot staging ring has been moved into Megabay 1 for installation today in preparation for Starship test flight 10.

Many in the spaceflight community believe that B16 could be the last Block 2 booster to ever attempt a Mechazilla catch.
But either way, we’ll still get to witness this unforgettable moment once again, something we didn’t get to see during Flight 9, since that mission was focused on testing the reusability of Booster 14 instead.
On this upcoming flight, SpaceX’s top priority is to verify whether the upgrades made to Ship 36 are actually doing their job, or if some of the old issues from Ship 35 might creep back in.
But this mission isn’t just about fixing problems. The ultimate goal is still to get Starship to orbit and prove that it can survive and function once it's up there.
