COPD Clinical History - Medical Finals Revision - Dr Gill
COPD is an incredibly common source of breathlessness and has a very broad range of presentations. The MRC Dyspnoea scale can be used to clarify breathlessness. This scale identifies that COPD can range from mild shortness of breath during vigorous exercise to the inability to perform daily activities, e.g., dressing, without significant difficulty.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, COPD, is one of those core clinical histories that all medical students should be incredibly familiar with.
This video examines the features that should be clarified during a respiratory history, specifically breathlessness, and includes some of the questions that may be asked following a history that includes COPD as a differential diagnosis.
