We head out to the range and test the new Battle Steel Armored car seat cover & organizer to see what it can, and can't stop 🇺🇸
Welcome back everybody. We have a strange one for you today but I think it's one that a lot of you
guys will like and once you understand sort of the why behind the product might make a little bit more
sense. So what is it? First off, it is this right here. It is a ballistic seat cover from the folks
at Battlesteel. Now they did not come up with this idea. This was my idea. Now where did this idea
come from? Well, this crazy head and basically we're going to get into what it is here in just
but essentially this came from an event that happened in April of this year as of when I'm
recording this video anyway. It was an event in Texas. Many of you guys who follow me on social
media already know about it. If you don't follow me on social media, I recommend doing so because
that's where we post things like this. But essentially a video came out. It was a badge cam
video of a police officer who came up to a kid who was sitting in a parking lot eating a burger
and for no apparent reason the officer shot the kid in the back multiple times through his
car seat. Many of you guys may be familiar with that video and that sparked an idea in me when
combined with something I already do and have been doing for years. So I keep a level 3a vest
in my truck, just a lightweight one that I can put on in the event that I might need level 3a armor
and the way I keep it is done for a reason, right? As with most things in my life, even though they
might seem a little bit crazy. So in my truck basically I have a Toyota Tacoma with four
seats, right? So the two at the front and then the bench seats back and I keep, because I have a cover
for my dog to lay on, so behind the cover for my dog to lay on, on the back seat I keep that armor
just like this. I keep it vertical and the reason for that is I was like, well a lot of people would
probably just lay it on their seat and like have my dog or something sit on top of it and my thought
was, well what if somebody's shooting at me from behind? At least I have cover or a point of cover
to get behind should I be maneuvering around the vehicle. Again, I realize the chances of that are
very slim, but it's possible and certainly does you more benefit than if it was just laying flat
in the back of your car, if that makes sense. So when I saw that video out of Texas and then I
thought about how I already have my armor set up, I thought, I wonder if anybody makes a car seat
cover or a back, you know, tactical back of your car seat that offers armor protection. I looked
around and didn't see any, so I reached out to the folks at Battlesteel and asked if we could come up
with one and this is it right here. So dimensions of it, I believe, are 16 by 24 in terms of the
actual armor coverage. It's got a lot of features on it. There's helicopters coming overhead, I'm not
sure if you guys can hear it. Let's take a second, let those go by and then we'll get into the details
of the product. Those helicopters should be far enough away that they're not impeding our audio
and before we actually get into the product, one thing I want to mention is this is going to be a
Mug Club episode. So for new folks here on the channel, what that means is we're going to do
the normal free review here on YouTube and Rumble and then after that we're going to head over to
Mug Club where we do exclusive content and because there's millions and millions of people over there
on Mug Club, I do content just for them and this week we're going to be doing sort of like a body
armor 101, what all this stuff means because I realize over there a lot of the folks who watch
aren't just like gun people, if you will, so we're going to do kind of a breakdown, different levels,
why you might want them, what they're for, etc. And again, it's not just me creating content over there,
it's a lot of folks, Steven Crowder, Brian Callen, Nick DiPaolo, who are all very funny folks, the
Hodge twins also very funny, as well as Alex Jones, which a lot of people are excited about as well,
doing exclusive content over there and folks do like it, it is a free speech medium, which is why
I'm over there because of all the censorship that we've had on mainstream media outlets and I do
enjoy it. If you guys are looking to check out that content, there will be a link here
on the video, link here on your screen rather, as well as a discount code to sign up for Mug Club
that will get you guys a free month. Now into the product itself, it is 16 by 24, I believe I
mentioned that earlier, in terms of dimensions with the armor panel. It does have MOLLE webbing on
there, so that way really anything you want to put on there in terms of accessories, you can do so.
Up top here, obviously we have MOLLE webbing, as well as a hook and loop or velcro panel to add the
patches of your choice. A limited number of Mr. Guns and Gear patches will be going out with the
first orders here, but again, there's not a ton of them, so if you guys are ordering it a month or two
from now, you don't get one, just know they probably sold out. But it does have a zipper here, so you can
access the actual armor. It also allows you to use it as storage, if you want to just put things in
there, you certainly can do so. We have these attachment points here, which are modular. You should note
these little plastic things here, you can move wherever you want, so the same is true with this
piece that attaches to the headboard piece of your car seat. But this, if you were storing a rifle or
something like that in your truck, which I know a lot of folks who live in rural areas, that's kind of
like a must-have, but it allows you to store it vertically. If you want to do so, just strap it down.
Additionally, we have these pieces here, which would allow you to store something long in a horizontal
fashion. It doesn't have to be a gun, it could be anything, that's kind of the beauty of it.
Then additionally, this part opens again for storage, as well as to access the armor. If you
want to put anything in there, then we have these just sort of admin pouches back here. This one
is vented, so you can see what was in there, and this one, of course, is just sewn in. This is
1000D Cordura, so very durable stuff, very corrosion-resistant, very scratch-resistant,
cut-resistant. It is a very durable product. The Cordura is just very, very proven. The downside
of it is it's a little bit heavy. That said, you're not carrying this around. The product weight on
this is five and a half pounds for the whole thing, so it's not like it's going to really sap your
fuel mileage. I suppose with that intro, let's see what kind of bullets it can stop.
In previous testing, we've had requests from viewers to be able to see the whole thing, so we're
going to show it to you that way today. Who knows if you guys like it or not, but first up, we're
putting some .380 into it out of the Beretta 80X. As y'all saw, our entry point was right there,
and of course, no exit at all, and we can feel the bullet. Let's keep going. Up next, we have
some minimum ammunitions. It's going to be coming out in what we call Fast Semi-Auto out of the
Sten here on YouTube, and let's see how it does. 115 grain. As y'all saw, a bunch of impacts on
there. Turn it around. We have a passenger, but I'm pretty sure I know exactly what that is. I'm
pretty sure it didn't go through the armor. Let's open it up, because when it crunched in, it very
likely just went left of it. So let's see. Let's double check that. Let's see my assertion, see if
it's correct. I saw it move when we were shooting behind it, and I was like, whoa, but I'm pretty
sure that's what happened. Yep, that's exactly what happened. So there is your hole right there.
Hopefully, you guys can see that. So obviously, it didn't go through the armor at all right there.
So that was our passenger. We've got it all back together, and we're stepping it up to 45 ACP.
Should mention, all the non-9mm ammo that you guys are seeing in this video is courtesy of
our friends at Firearms Depot. They sponsor the channel now for everything but 9mm, so we
definitely appreciate it. You guys should check them out. 45 ACP out of the Beretta. Let's see.
Two World Wars.
At this point, you guys know better than me, but I think that's the hole, because it's actually a
bigger hole right there in the entrance, and obviously, nothing came through on the back. So
let's keep going. I just now realized that I neglected to mention what 3A plus armor is. So
basically, it should stop all handgun rounds up to and including .357 Magnum or .44 Magnum,
and that kind of is the standard, if you will. The plus has to do with stab ratings,
also 5.7, things like that. But anyway, let's keep going. Now, shotgun rounds are not actually
specifically part of the 3A protocol for testing, but we're going to do it anyway. We have some
full power high brass buckshot there coming out of the Mothberg, and it's going to thump.
As y'all already saw, center mass right here. And one thing to note about UHWMPE armor is that it
multi-hit rated. So you can shoot this thing a bunch of times, virtually on the same exact point,
and it doesn't really matter. And you can see we definitely have done that so far.
And there we go. Absolutely no pass there. Again, that was the one from the bent armor,
which it's already doing. So you can see, actually, that's how that bent like that,
just from the pressure of the ammo hitting it. We'll push it back together in some sort of
reasonable shape. Keep shooting it. We have some Federal Vital Shock .357 Magnum coming out of my
4-inch SAR USA revolver. So this is what it is rated to stop. This is the limit, if you will.
Let's see. Let's go a little bit lower.
As y'all saw, we went a little bit lower there to spread everything out. And, uh, absolutely no
pass there, as you guys can see. So stop there, 7 Magnum. So at this point, it has stopped everything
it's rated for. We're going to push now. I'm going to go well beyond that. Let's do it. Off camera,
I've been laughing just thinking about what's about to happen. So this is some Federal 460
Smith & Wesson Magnum, obviously. This is their 260 grain fusion load. It's going to be coming out
of my 8-inch Smith & Wesson 460 Magnum. This thing is no joke, folks. This is one of the most powerful
handguns, period. It is absolutely not rated for this, and neither is my hand. So let's do it.
Let's check it out.
I genuinely don't know if it actually stopped it or not. You guys saw some stuff that I saw some
stuff, so we shall see. But we had our entrance point right here, so not a lot of compromised
armor around it. Not that that would really matter. And then we saw this, and I think it
stopped it. Hopefully the camera focuses there. I'm pretty sure. Yeah, that's it. That's the
bullet. I can feel it. It's super hot. It's so weird how it's always so hot. But yeah,
it stopped it. There's no doubt, if this was on the back of your car seat,
your car seat might be a little messed up, but you would be totally fine. Very impressive.
I should note there, that's this little plastic piece that you guys can see there. That's just
added for extra rigidity, especially if you're strapping stuff down and stuff like that. So it
stays a little bit more rigid than typical UHW MPE. But yeah, stopped it just fine. Not that
you're seeing a lot of 460 Smith & Wesson on the streets, but hey, if it happened, you'd be good.
Up next, we have some Remington 220 grain subsonic 300 blackout. This, in theory,
has the same amount of energy as, or close to the same amount of energy as 45 ACP. But as many of
you guys know, the bullet design, the spitzer shaped bullet, tends to be a problem for armor.
And that's coming out of our 80 inch Adams Arms gun. We shall see. Let me know down below in the
comments if it's going through or not. Interesting. Let's see.
Full disclosure, I 100% thought that was going to go through and we were going to end the video and I
would stop sweating in front of you. Speaking of, while you're sitting inside in the AC, while I'm
out here splitting, hit that subscribe button if you haven't already done so. So as you guys can see,
it stopped it. That's impressive. That's kind of part of the plus, 3A plus armor there. So I've
had a couple 3A plus armor pieces that we tested on the channel stop subsonic 300 blackout, and
most of them don't. So that's good company to be in there for sure. And I can feel the bullet in
there, but it's in there. I'm about 99% sure this is going to be the last shot we take on the armor
is 150 grain Remington from Firearms Depot. We're in black, of course. Supersonic. Let's move it
around. Let's check it out. That might have stopped.
I'm not sure if I was in frame at the end there, but I was shocked with what I just saw, guys.
So I put it right next to the .357 Magnum down here, as you guys saw, and that thing stopped.
That stopped supersonic 300 blackout, 150 grain. That's craziness. Well, I guess we gotta keep
going. All right, folks, I have to admit, I was wholly unprepared for this. I did not think that
would ever happen. We've never had any soft armor stop 150 grain 300 blackout before, but I went in
my range bag, dug it out. We have some Sig Sauer 125 grain 300 black, so it should be going faster.
Again, this is an 8-inch barrel on this Adams Arms pistol. That's craziness. Let's see.
I don't know. I don't know if it's just the heat impacting my brain, but I am
shocked by that. Shocked. As you guys saw there, impacted it. Absolutely no pass through. I wonder
if it's that polymer that's on the back that is helping to catch it, but yeah, in no way, guys,
in no way should this be stopped. Those two rounds, those last two rounds should have sailed through
there without question. That is crazy. Let's keep going. All right, folks, in no way is it rated for
this at all. We have some Tula 122 grain 7.62x39 coming out of a 16-inch FB Radom 8K Polish gun,
and again, no way it's rated for this. Let's see, though, at this point, who the heck knows?
This is magic armor. Where am I going to hit? Let's do that. That's what should have happened
the last couple times. Y'all have seen the slow-mo. I saw it in person. I think it went
through. That's why we changed the camera locations. In armor testing here on the channel,
if we change the location, typically it's dead. I think it's dead, and let's see. Yep, it is dead.
It did go through, so it did not stop 7.62x39 out of a 16-inch barrel, but what's crazy is
if that was a shorter barrel, it probably would have stopped. That's just insane. I mean, I test
a lot of armor here on the channel, and a lot of 3A, a lot of 3A+. I have never, not once,
had it stop supersonic 300 blackout. Again, it's iffy as to whether or not it'll stop subsonic.
Color me impressed with this armor panel. Now, one thing I didn't mention in the intro
is that, obviously, you can configure it a lot of different ways, and it's designed primarily
as a seat cover, but the reality is you could use it as an improvised shield. So, if you're
driving around out, and you see yourself, and find yourself, rather, in a situation
where you might want mobile cover, this is definitely a way to do it. Now, there's a
couple different ways. Obviously, you can use this clip and throw it around your neck and move,
you know, just with it draped over your body, move to the threat, or, you know, depending on
how you configure it, again, you can use these, but you can use these. Put your arm through,
and, again, have yourself a mobile shield to go around and face a threat. Of course,
most mass shootings are committed with handguns, the overwhelming majority. So, should you find
yourself in that situation, that would be some armor that could stop, basically, all the handguns
that you might encounter in that type of situation. So, impressive product, for sure. There's no doubt
about it. Is it a nice product? Yes, but I think it's cool, and I think there are a lot of competitive
offerings out there that offer something similar, but don't offer armor and cost a similar price
point. So, at that point, rather, you might as well get some armor, especially armor that performs
like this. So, it did really, really well, as you guys saw. One thing we didn't mention that we have
to before we close it out, of course, like I said, it's my idea. So, if you hate it, let me know below
in the comments section. That's cool. But, additionally, it's price point. So, I alluded
to it earlier. Right now, these are available. You can purchase them. I think there's several
colors available, as well, and they are $299. So, American-made armor. It is all Barry compliant,
if you guys work for a security company or a department that requires that, because, again,
it's all made in America. So, I think it's fairly reasonable for what you get. That's my opinion.
Is it for everyone? No. Is it for probably a lot of people? It might be. If you guys have any tips,
anything you would change on the design, let us know down below in the comments, as well, because,
again, this is just from my head into reality. It took a few months to get it done, but we got it done,
and they are in stock. So, with that, guys, I think we'll close the video out. Thank you all
for watching. I truly appreciate it, especially the new folks here. You got a little treat today,
but I appreciate all of you guys watching. If you guys aren't seeing two to four videos a week here
on the channel, you can sign up for the email at this website here on your screen. This goes out
once a month, and it has all of the videos since the previous month's email. So, that way, if there
is a big tech giant censoring your eyes from my content, because there is, just in case you didn't
know, that email will go VFR direct from me to you. So, that way, you guys can see my content.
Additionally, we already mentioned, hit the subscribe button. If you guys are looking for
sales, things like that, the first place those go up is on my social media site. So, you can follow me
across social. We're also on Gab. We're on Mines. We're on MeWe. Other places that are not shown in
the lower portion of your screen right now, but you can follow me wherever you want. Obviously, the
non-Zuckerberg platforms are where we can actually post most of our content. So, that's the recommended
course of action. And with that, the last thing we got to talk about is the daily deals email. So,
every day, as the name indicates, we send out an email. It has eight of the best deals that we find
around the internet. If it is in that email, it is the cheapest I know of anyone on the internet on
that given day. It's free to sign up. It goes out every day, as the name indicates. And like I said,
if it's in there, it's the cheapest I know of. So, that way, it saves you guys some time and saves you
some money. There's also a good meme in there every day that many folks enjoy. I know a lot
of you guys have followed the email just for that, just for the meme. But anyway, you can do that as
well. And that's all I got for you. Thanks as always for watching. See you in the next video.
