The Beauty of White Nordic Nights and Summer Life

In the northern hemisphere, during midsummer, the sun doesn't set at all.
The nights are light, almost white, and there's a very special beauty and feeling to them.
The birds sing through the night, and the atmosphere in our village and the forest is magical.
There's a peace in these white evenings and nights that's hard to describe.
It feels it was just yesterday that the darkness lasted for the whole day,
and now the next dark night will be in August in two and a half months.
There's something wonderful about living in the north.
These constant changes make me happy somehow.
Life is never boring here.
In summer it feels there's more space and time in the mornings.
The sunrise is at 4 a.m. now, even though the sun stays just below the horizon for the night,
making everything glow in white, luminescent light.
In the summer I like to train in the morning, when it's not too hot.
It's peaceful and the air is still cool and crisp.
Making a coffee in the quiet, watching the sun climb higher.
These are my favorite moments in life.
Now as summer is finally here, it's the perfect time to go slower.
To enjoy everything nature has to offer us.
Truly be present in those beautiful small moments that happen every day,
if we pay attention to them.
That's my only goal for this summer.
To truly live and be present.
Appreciate everything life has to offer.
Be with friends and family and celebrate life.
Midsummer celebrations are approaching and it's one of my favorite celebrations.
A celebration of summer, of life and of being together with loved ones.
The beginning of June has been really beautiful here in the west coast of Finland.
Flowers are in full bloom and everything around us is filled with color.
It's an old tradition here in the north to gather seven different flowers on Midsummer's Eve
and put them under your pillow.
In your dreams you may see the one you'll marry.
I don't need to do that anymore since I'm already happily married,
but I still like to gather the flowers anyways as a Midsummer tradition.
I hope the summer's warm and beautiful where you are and you get to enjoy it to the fullest.
I'll see you again soon. Take care. Bye bye.
