A cosy, rainy autumn day in my little English home! 🍂 Today, I'm embracing the slower rhythm of the season, bringing a little autumn magic indoors with simple seasonal decorating, working with herbs, and making a homemade elderberry syrup in preparation for the colder months.
Living in a small London flat has taught me that one doesn't need a countryside cottage to enjoy the beauty of seasonal living. Sometimes, it's the simplest things — making something with our hands, decorating with nature, and creating a warm, welcoming home — that make everyday life feel a little more magical.
I hope this gentle autumn vlog inspires you to slow down, enjoy the little things, and find beauty wherever you call home. 🤎

Thank you for spending this rainy autumn day with me!

~Elderberry Syrup:

-1 cup dried elderberries
-4 cups water
-2 star anise
-4 cloves
-1 cup raw honey

Put everything into a pan apart from the honey. Bring to the boil and then simmer for about 1h or at least until the liquid has reduced by about half the amount. Let it cool slightly and strain the liquid through a cheesecloth before adding the honey and mixing together well. Keep in a clean container and store in the fridge.

Butternut Squash Soup:

-1 big or 2 small butternut squash
-1 white onion
-2 cloves garlic
-2 or 3 white potatoes (makes it creamier)
-2 tsp ground cinnamon
-1 tsp ground ginger
-1.5 l vegetable stock
-salt and pepper to taste

Chop up the butternut squash and potatoes. Fry the onion, garlic and spices in a bit of oil until softened and fragrant. Add in the chopped veggies and stock and cook until everything is softened. Blitz the soup in a blender and enjoy!
