Hi, this is Alan with Interview Success Formula.
Do you have a panel interview coming up?
In a panel interview, you won't be facing one interviewer, but a whole room full of interviewers.
I know this sounds scary. It is actually good news.
It means the company is very interested in hiring you.
Here are some tips to help.
First, imagine what the interview will look like.
You'll be sitting in a meeting room with people around you who want to know you better.
Now, you may be tempted to focus only on the big boss, the most senior person in the room.
But this is a mistake. Make sure you pay attention to every person.
To really connect with the interviewers, one valuable trick is to learn their names.
To help you remember, repeat each person's name in three or more sentences.
Alex has a blue tie.
Alex has a white shirt.
Alex is sitting to my right.
Then you can talk to Alex with his name.
Or when another interviewer asks you a question, you can say,
I think what Alex said before about...
And now Alex feels recognized and listened to.
So I know a room full of interviewers can ask lots of questions fast.
When you need to catch your breath, follow up your answers with questions back to them.
That way, they can do the talking for a while.
Remember, like a one-on-one interview,
you need clear and simple answers that address the questions you're asked
and use examples to prove your skills.
