What FAA just did to SpaceX's Starship in Texas will Blow Your Mind!
Unbelievable! Not ten launches, not twenty launches, but up to 25 Starship launches per year from Starbase alone. The FAA has just declared this information, demonstrating an unprecedented number of launches for a super heavy rocket that will shock the entire world this very year.
Let’s find out on today’s episode of Alpha Tech:
After a lengthy review process, federal authorities have officially granted SpaceX permission to significantly increase its annual launch rate from the Starbase facility in South Texas. Previously limited to just five launches per year, the company can now conduct up to 25 Starship launches and landings within a single calendar year.

This decision follows the FAA’s completion of a comprehensive Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA), which concluded with a "mitigated Finding of No Significant Impact" (FONSI). In practical terms, this means that the proposed expansion doesn’t pose major environmental concerns that would require a more rigorous Environmental Impact Statement. It's a clear win for SpaceX, as it avoids further regulatory delays.
“The FAA has determined that the Proposed Action is a reasonable, feasible, practicable, and prudent alternative for a federal decision in light of the established goals and objectives,” the agency stated.

To be clear, approving a higher launch frequency hasn’t come without scrutiny. Concerns about the environmental impact on the surrounding area and local communities have persisted throughout the review. As a result, the FAA’s approval includes a detailed list of conditions some carried over from prior approvals, others newly introduced.
Among these, particular attention has been given to wastewater discharge from SpaceX’s launch deluge system, especially after allegations that the system had been used without the necessary permits.
