San Lorenzo Mini Layout | Final Details & Finishing Touches

Lots to cover in this one as I put the finishing touches on my On30 San Lorenzo mini-layout! It's time to finish up the dry and dusty southwestern scenery with natural looking sanded grout ground cover. Then it's on to the cactus, bushes, weeds, figures, and other small details that really make the scenes come to life. I finish up by adding details and some light weathering to Porter locomotive No 5, and dressing up the layout fascia with peal and stick wood veneers.
San Lorenzo was originally an award winning diorama built by my friend, the late Verne Niner. Now I'm bringing it back as a tribute to his Estrella & Sonora Grande with this 2' x 4' On30 mini layout.
