BRINGING HOME A NEW BUNNY - bunny adoption vlog 2023 (meet Toffee )

What's up, Ellen Joys? Welcome back to my YouTube channel. My name is Ellen and you guys should totally subscribe. In today's video, as you guys can already tell by the title, I am getting another bunny. Did I expect this to happen this soon? No. But am I excited? Yes, yes I am. I'm getting this bunny today. It is a full-bred hollow mop. And I'm so excited. I've seen pictures of him. He's so cute. He's a boy and you guys know how I am. I am for sure a boy bun mom in my heart. Like, of course, I love girl bunnies. Always will. I love latte. But I'm just a boy mama at my heart. Very excited to be getting a boy bunny. I've already been thinking names. You know how I am with my creative little names. So I cannot wait to, like, share it with you guys. And I know in the vlog where I got Latte, showing y'all, it was mostly, like, all the preparations I had to do. But since I already have, like, two bunnies at home now, it's just kind of like I already have most of that stuff that I need for a new bunny. So therefore, it's not going to be so much showing y'all, like, preparing for a bunny. It's just going to be me welcoming my bunny home, adopting him, bringing him home, all that type of stuff. So yeah, I hope you guys are excited. Make sure to like, comment, subscribe. And let's go ahead and get into the vlog. Just for a little context, it's currently 2.24 on Saturday, March 25th. And we're going to go and pick him up. We're supposed to meet the lady at about 3 o'clock. So we are right on target time to head out and go and get him. And hopefully you guys enjoy it. Here we go. Literally part two. Part two, part two. Get into it. Here he goes. Y'all can, like, kind of see him. But he's so cute. Give y'all a better view of him, too. Yo, look at him! Hi, cat! So cute. You want to come all the way out? Alright, y'all. So right now, I am bonding with Toffee. Look at him, guys. He's so cute. He's adorable. And he's so chill. So that's, like, the plus. I'm trying to keep it mostly on him so you guys can see him. I know you want to see him. He's so cute. But yeah, guys. He's, like, super chill. If you guys want to know, like I told you guys, he is a full-bred Holland Lop. So he's a full-bred Holland Lop. He's only one year old. Super cute. Oh my goodness. Literally so adorable. He loves the cuddles and the rubs. So sweet. Look at his little face! Okay, so good morning, y'all. It's literally the next day. And I just got up. I'm about to go outside and check out his harness. I'm just unpacking him because basically I'm waiting on his harness so he can go on a walk. That's really what I've been waiting to take him on a walk for. Even though we already do have, like, another harness for, like, Scoot and Mate. So I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't just put it on him. But I'm going to see. We're going to admit that it's coming today. It's Wednesday, March 29th, so it should come. I don't know. It's actually kind of chilly out here. And I just know it's not here. I just know it's not here. I changed my clothes. I think I'm going to get him to try a grapefruit for the first time. We'll see how he likes it. They can eat grapefruit, by the way. I'm pretty sure, OK, so I'm pretty sure grapefruit is a no for Toffee. He hasn't been eating it. Scoot ate it perfectly just fine. Like, he's just not a fan. You want to try? He's not a fan, you guys. He's like, no. Maybe it's sour for him. I really don't know. I'm going to do this unboxing outside because why not? Packages came and I'm pretty sure I know what this is. Like, this has to be Toffee's reach and harness and everything. I'm praying it is. Guys, oh, it is. Guys, literally, I was like so disappointed. I thought it wasn't it, but it is it. They just put it in this like box. OK, I see on Amazon. But yeah, it says I don't need to explain this. Literally, let's just get it. I don't know. Literally, you guys can see like my face. I was about to be so disappointed. This is cute. This looks even better on person. Like on the site, it looks like a light blue. But like in person, it looks more like a like, I don't know, an aqua color. This is pretty, you guys. I like this. So I think this will look good on Toffee. But yeah, I just want to show you guys. It finally came. Finally. What is that on my camera? I feel like there's always a glare. So let me set y'all down for a minute so we can have a little chat. Firstly, how are y'all doing? I literally like just cleaned my room like no other and we're doing good. We're thriving. It was stressful. I overwhelmed. I kind of like freaked out a little bit, but it's OK. We're doing good. And that's not even what this vlog is about. So I'm sorry. I know that a lot of this video has just been like montage footage of like me with Toffee like holding hands. Yeah. Like I said, I know a lot of this vlog has been a montage footage. Hope you guys are OK with that. But that's just kind of what we've been up to, honestly. Lately, it's been raining a lot. So it's been really hard for me to like take him on a walk, which is what I fully intended on doing. That's why I got him a harness and everything. And you think now that it's like spring, which the weather is definitely getting hotter outside. So it's like perfect for like walking weather and everything. But the only thing is, you guys know, springtime, April is coming up. By the time you guys watch this, it might be April already. April showers. Or is it May showers? I don't know. Either way, you know, it's supposed to rain a lot. And it definitely has been doing just that. So over the past couple of days, it's been raining nonstop. So I've just been trying to find a good time to like walk him. But anyways, yeah, so far it's been really good. He is kind of still a little bit skittish. So like if you try to like rub him or anything, like as far as if you're up high, like if he's in his pen and I'm like trying to rub him or whatever, he just like will run into the corner. So that's something that we're working on. But that's also because like he's getting used to me and he also has to get more comfortable. But it's like when I actually grab him, when I hold him or when I like just sit and cuddle with him, like he's perfectly fine. He's totally fine with that. You know, everything's good. I just think he like physically needs to see my hand. But the only thing is because his pen is on the ground, which that's how I want it to be. So he isn't like super elevated because I know rabbits don't like to be like up high. So that's why I moved it so it could be like down more. Don't worry, guys. He's super protected. He's literally like on our, what do you call it, our like veranda. I don't know whatever you guys want to call it, but like there's like fencing all the way around. Like he's totally safe, guys. Nothing's going to happen to him. But anyways, so I said all that to say that that's why I put him on the on the ground. And well, not the ground, but like the veranda floor, whatever. Anyways, I'm sorry. I'm like over explaining. Yeah, so I put him on the floor. I don't know why I keep doing this. Like you guys don't know what a floor is. I'm sorry, guys. I'm sorry, guys. I'm really tired. So I put him on the floor so that he can be like at his normal level. You know what I'm saying? So he can feel like more safe, I feel like. So that's when it's been going really well. But the only thing is like when I try to do anything like clean his pen or like like the brother and hold him or whatever from up high, because obviously I'm going to be up high on the floor. He just kind of gets a little freaked out. But again, we're working on it. I'm going to start just like literally sitting by his pen every single morning, just going out there, sitting, being on my phone or like reading a book or something, not even paying attention to him because I heard that's something that's really good for you to do for like bonding. So I think I'm going to try that out. And then also, I think what I want to start doing is I'm trying to do hand feeding. You guys saw, I think a couple of days ago, I tried to feed him some grapefruit. I don't think he's a fan. I really don't think he's a fan, guys. Like I gave it to all my other bunnies. They loved it. It was great. It was a hit. And that's totally OK. Literally, that doesn't mean anything's wrong. It's just sometimes like just like humans, bunnies can also be picky. And so he might like other fruits. He just he's not a fan of grapefruit. I know that for sure. So I think the next thing I want to try with him is bananas. I feel like that's going to be a hit. He just looks like a banana bunny. He looks like it. So I think that is the one we're going to try next, but probably not in this vlog. I'm probably going to end up wrapping this vlog up at some point. But I just wanted to kind of come on here and have like a little chatty moment to where I can explain a little bit more. I also really, really need to paint his pen because I think it'd be like super cute. I want to paint it like a gray and then do like green paws or whatever. So that's another project for this summer that I have to do. But it's going to be great. It's going to be great. I honestly, I feel it. I feel it in the air. It's going to be an awesome summer. And it's even more awesome because I have so many bunnies that like are literally still in my heart. So, yeah, I hope you guys are enjoying this vlog. Or it might be a wrap. I don't really know.
