Home is a Journey Ep 6 - Dualism

“Dualism,” a double-story home in South Perth, is its owner’s home away from home. Bathed in light and organic textures and surrounded by a lush garden, the home blends contemporary architecture with a bucolic setting.

A sense of space, height, and volume is apparent when entering through a vast timber pivot front door. Crisp white walls and a timber herringbone floor define the area, with vibrant art imbuing dynamic colour and detail. Beyond are three kitchens, vast open-plan living, and tranquil gardens with a wooden platform for meditation.

A large void rises to the second level, and the generous entry hall lined with French doors discreetly leads to guest quarters, powder room, office, and lift entry.

This episode of “Home is a Journey” highlights the challenge where the project commenced as the pandemic did. Adaptation and utilization of available technological tools, such as Zoom, to communicate and build during lockdown was vital. The client went to top builders in Perth, but Urbane stood out with their approach to listening and making it the client’s home above their design/construction work.
