Jesus Walks on Water: A Lesson in Faith & Trust

Hello my Bible Buddies. My name is Aubrey. Today I'm going to read you a story from the Bible. But first I want to ask you a question. Did you know that Jesus loves you? He loves you more than you could possibly imagine. He wants to be your friend too. Did you know that? One of the ways we can be Jesus' friend is by getting to know him better. Did you know he helped write the whole Bible? Well he did. You can get to know him better by listening to this Bible story. If you want to read what it says in the actual Bible you can read it in Matthew chapter 14 verses 22 through 33. Mark chapter 6 verses 45 through 52. John chapter 6 verses 16 through 21. Now sit back and listen as I read to you about Jesus walks on water a stormy adventure. Hello friends. Welcome to story hour. Today we're sharing a story about Jesus and his disciples on a wild wavy adventure. One day Jesus fed 5,000 people with just five loaves and two fish. Picture a big picnic. Kids, parents, everyone eating happily. After the meal Jesus spoke to his disciples. Take the boat and row across the lake. I'll stay to pray. Here we go. Time to row. Jesus watched them go then walked up a hill as the sun set. The disciples rode across the lake then a big wind started. Waves hit the boat rocking it side to side. The wind is strong. The waves are growing. Keep rowing. We can do this together. The sky turned dark. The stars hid behind clouds but Jesus saw them from the hill. He knew they needed him. He stepped onto the lake and walked on the water. The waves splashed but Jesus kept walking toward the boat. The disciples saw something moving on the water. Look out there. What is it? It's me Jesus. Don't be afraid. Lord if it's you tell me to come out there. Come Peter walk to me. Peter stepped out and walked on the water toward Jesus. Peter walked step by step with the wind blowing. Then he looked at the big waves around him. The waves are huge. The wind is loud. Peter started to sink into the water. Lord save me. I'm going down. Peter why did you doubt? I'm here. They walked back to the boat. The wind stopped. You are the Son of God. That's the story of Jesus walking on water. Peter walked when he looked at Jesus but he sank when he looked at the storm. Jesus is stronger than any storm in life. He wants us to trust him when things get tough. Thanks for joining me friends.
