Ingredients for Honey Butter Chicken Recipe:
(Tsp-Teaspoon; Tbsp-Tablespoon)
Boneless Chicken - 450 gms (1 lb) cut into bite sized pieces
For Marination:
Salt-1/2 tsp
White pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
Light soy sauce -1 tsp
Egg-1 (one small egg)
Corn flour -1 US cup (100 gms)
Tempering :
Garlic fine chopped- 4 cloves ( 1.5 tsp)
To Make the Sauce:
Honey-4 tsp
Light Soy Sauce-2 tsp
Brown Sugar- 1 tbsp
Salt- a pinch
Red Chilli flakes-1 tsp
Sesame oil-1 tbsp
Other ingredients:
Corn slurry- 1 tsp corn starch mixed in 4 tbsp water
Butter- 4 tbsp
Oil-1 tsp
White sesame seeds- 1 tsp
Preparation:
Cut the chicken breast fillets into 1 inch cubes. Set aside.
Add all the items for the sauce, mix it well.
Finely chop the garlic cloves and chop the spring onion greens for garnish later.
To marinate the chicken pieces, add salt and white pepper, soy sauce & one small egg. Mix it well.
Don’t add too much egg, it should just coat the chicken pieces. There shouldn’t be extra liquid.
Now add the corn flour and mix it to coat the chicken pieces well.
Process:
Heat oil in a pan to deep fry the chicken pieces.
Drop the coated chicken pieces side by side to not crowd the pan. Do not stir for a minute. Continue to stir and fry for another 5 mins and remove from oil. Fry in batches if required.
Now take a flat pan and heat 1 tsp oil. Add the butter and stir it till it melts.
Now add the chopped garlic and stir and fry for around 30 secs.
Add the sauce mix and mix and cook on medium heat for around a minute.
Add the corn slurry and mix and cook on low heat for 30 secs.
Now add the fried chicken pieces, a tbsp of butter and stir fry on medium heat for around 1-2 mins till it coats the chicken.
Lastly add the sesame seeds and mix and stir fry on medium heat for around 30 secs.
Remove and garnish with spring onion greens.
