Melinda French-Gates shares Warren Buffett's life-changing professional advice.
Melinda French-Gates commented on a critical piece of career advice from
Warren Buffett that shifted her outlook. Speaking on LinkedIn Hello Monday podcast,
the 60-year-old American billionaire stated that Warren advised her and her ex-husband,
Bill Gates, when they founded the Gates Foundation in 2000.
Melinda noted,
Warren Buffett once told us,
Find your bullseye of what you are focusing on and let the rest fall away.
You will feel better if you keep your abilities in that bullseye and keep working on those
challenges. And you will feel less awful about giving up on those things. And I think that's
true, she joked. Notably, Warren, the 94-year-old chairperson of Berkshire Hathaway, served as
trustee for the Gates Foundation from 2006 to 2021. According to the foundation's website,
he has pledged $36 billion to the organization by 2022.
For those who don't know, the author of Moment of Life, How Empowering Women Changes the World,
has three children with Bill Gates, Jennifer, Phoebe and Rory. It is important to note that
Melinda is no longer a member of the Gates Foundation.
