*Camper Cares note to you all: Thank you for watching, subscribing, sharing liking and donating, we could not have made it this far and to have fulfilled our dream of helping so many animals , families and fosters in need without all of you! FROM THE BOTTOM OF CAMPER & MY HEART, THANK YOU, we love you!!!
Hi everybody, I'm Nikki and this cute little squirrel hunter right here, this is Camper
and this episode is super super special to myself and Camper. Six weeks ago I started a project that
was Camper-inspired called Camper Care, a project to help animals, families, and fosters in need
who can't pay their own medical and vet bills. We did it! So this is the start of my series
Camper Cares, car camping for a cause. You know my whole mission is to live frugally and live simply,
be passionate, and be kind. So because we can have such low expenses while living in a car,
we can help others and I'm like so emotional and excited to finally be able to do that
and share that with you guys. I'm going to introduce you to Brittany and Nova along with
a few other animals we were able to help. Brittany is a wonderful human, she's been
fostering dogs for years and I put up a Facebook post the day I decided to start Camper Cares and
it was like it was meant to be a girlfriend I knew from high school. She tagged me in Brittany's post
and I immediately like knew I was like this is it, this is the one. You know it was like super
emotional at one point is I didn't think Nova was gonna make it. So I got on a phone call with her
and this is how it went. My heart is beating out of my chest. I'm about to call Brittany
and sign on my first Camper Cares give back. I'm so excited.
I really gotta keep it together for this. I hope this is the first of so many. Okay.
Hello? Hi Brittany, it's Nikki. Hi Nikki, nice to meet you via phone. So I was calling because I
would like to know a little bit more about you and Nova. Yeah of course. So I am a foster through
Louise Legacy Animal Rescue. So we just saw a picture of this dog who was dumped by her owner
and she had to leave the shelter ASAP for medical reasons. Oh wow. So I saw her sweet face. I was
like drop her off. Yep. So that's why I have this sweet girl. You're such a sweetheart. I mean I felt
in love. Like Nova is so beautiful. Isn't she cute? You are so beautiful for what you're doing. I mean
so do you know about her past and what her life was before she was with you guys? She was with
her owner who dropped her off at the shelter. Yeah he had to get rid of her. Like her life
has just been turned upside down. Oh my goodness. So she was dropped off by a previous owner but
yet she has so many medical issues. That's really scary. Yeah so um honestly I think it's like a
I know you saw pictures of her on my Facebook but like Nikki this dog is like like raw in flames.
She's missing hair. Definitely has like a raging skin infection. She definitely has something going
on with her ears whether it's like severe inner ear infections. She's like kind of walking and
tilting towards one side always shaking her head falling to the ground. Oh my gosh. It's definitely
She's so lucky to have you. So did they give you any estimated costs? What you're looking at?
Anywhere from probably three thousand dollars give or take.
I would love to support you and Nova and cover all of her vet bills if you'll have us.
Covered what? Uh camper and I are more than happy to assist with all of the payments.
I don't know I'm like speechless. I don't even know what to say. I'm so happy. Yeah I mean
yeah me and Nova definitely thank you. She's with me right now like snuggling up and trying
to listen to her phone call so. Little nosy girl. That's okay. That's your little that's your
Let's connect again after the appointment on Monday. Thank you Nikki. I'll talk to you Monday.
All right I'll talk to you later. All right have a good night. Bye-bye.
Camper. Camper you slept through all that excitement. We're doing it. We're doing oh
my god we're doing it. We're doing this. Camper we're doing this. So Nova had her first visit to
the vet and started on her treatments and her road to recovery. At first it seemed like
everything would be getting better but then things took a turn. We had to go back to the vet. We had
a bad night huh? We're back for round two. Brittany had texted me and said that Nova was urinating
herself and needed more scans and of course I was like I'll I will cover it. Do whatever you can
make this dog better and um I couldn't sleep for like two nights like just thinking about how Nova
had been so abused by her previous owner. You should not be allowed to treat an animal that way.
You know Nova years of abuse and neglect like how could you go like five years letting your dog have
a full body yeast infection and ear infection so she couldn't even she couldn't even walk and she
was falling over because just like breaks my heart people like that should be put away for life.
That poor dog. I'm so we're so lucky that Brittany found Nova.
With the worries of severe brain trauma a brain scan was ordered.
Another week went by and you won't believe what happened.
So Brittany texted me this morning and told me that they got the results back and she said good news.
Hi! Your text this morning I didn't even read the details all I saw was
Nova is gonna be okay and I literally I like cried my eyes out. I was so
pumped up you have to tell me everything. So we brought her Sunday night to the neurologist.
I think that she's the best girl because everyone has like nothing but like amazing things to say
about her um but yeah I got the results. They were even like so confused they're like um
she's normal. I'm like what? They're like yeah her back brain her middle brain everything's normal
so yeah nothing major showed at all at all and if there was something major it would show
obviously he's like but she's normal treat her as a normal dog. I'm like so relieved and just so
happy like I couldn't believe that I'm like what she's normal okay honestly Nick I'm gonna um
probably put her off by the end of the week. Oh oh my god like it's very sweet because she's
come a long way already. I've had her for like I don't know maybe it's been like five six weeks
now and just hopefully we'll find a family or somebody that is like understanding that you
know she kind of has these weird things but there's nothing wrong so you know just keep it
monitor it for probably the rest of her life honestly and just make sure she lives a happy
healthy comfy life and someone to keep up with her you know skin tissues um yeah I'm just gonna
okay super excited for her future and super excited that she's in finally in a good place
I'm so happy for her I really really can't. A couple weeks went by and we touched base with
Brittany again to see how Nova was doing. Nova's ears got better her skin was clearing up she came
out of her shell a little bit more and is just so happy but most of all she's safe and loved
and now for the best news ever Nova found a new loving home and now she's sleeping better than
ever. We wish Nova and her new owners nothing but the best. Alongside Nova here are some of
the other animals we were able to donate to this month. This is Dottie in Illinois who suffered
very very intense skin and gut issues after severe neglect. I'm happy to say Dottie was
recently adopted. We also have Blackie in Pennsylvania who honestly we weren't sure if
she was even going to make it through the evening but with lots of love care and feeding tubes
she made it through and now also has a loving home. And then we have Tucker who was severely
injured trapped with a horrible abusive farmer who would not surrender him. Too graphic to tell
our show but he was so abused. I immediately donated a thousand dollars to get Tucker out of
there as he was making us pay to do so. I'm so happy to share with you Tucker now has a home
with two vets and their kids. And last but not least for the camper cares give back this month
we have Sweet Ginger from Kentucky. She had x-rays showing a diaphragm hernia cutting off her airway
and needed to be fixed immediately. The owner couldn't pay for the bill and we wanted to help
to make sure Ginger could stay alive and well and happy in her loving home. Thank you so much for
tuning in you guys. If you do want to help grow camper cares there will be a donation link in the
description where all the proceeds will go to helping animals families and fosters in need.
If you happen to be one of those people who does need help there's also a place to apply for
tell me your story. Do know I do get a lot of requests so if you don't get an immediate answer
truly I want to help everyone I can but obviously I can only work with what I have and I hope that
I can help you or that we could grow this fund so much that we don't have to say no to anyone.
I want to help every animal family and foster I can. If you want to help there will be some
links in the description that will tell you how to do that otherwise honestly just by watching
these videos you're helping. My external ad revenue from many of my videos goes straight
to animals families and fosters in need so don't forget like subscribe turn on notifications share
with your friends and let's change the world. And lastly adopt don't shop there are so many animals
out there that don't have homes and I promise you your dog no matter what the breed is out there
at a shelter waiting to be saved. I love you all thanks for watching see you next time
