Videos were posted online showing the gang members being taken from the planes and sent to the country's Terrorism Confinement Center. The deportation follows a recent action from President Donald Trump to invoke the Alien Enemies Act, where he declared an invasion of the United States by Tren de Aragua, a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization. Now, a legal battle is beginning as well, after a federal judge blocked Trump's invocation of the act and also ordered the deportation of gang members to stop.

President Donald Trump has officially invoked the Alien Enemies Act and now over 200 gang
members from Tren de Aragua and MS-13 have been deported from the U.S.
And they've now arrived at their brand new home, a prison in El Salvador.
The Alien Enemies Act.
This is an 18th century law already in place for most of America's history.
It allows the Trump administration to use very broad powers to carry out mass deportations.
Donald Trump designated the Tren de Aragua gang as a foreign terrorist organization with
thousands of members, many of whom have unlawfully infiltrated the United States and are conducting
irregular warfare and undertaking hostile actions against the United States.
And he notes that Tren de Aragua, quote, operates in conjunction with the Cartel de las Sols,
the Nicolas Maduro regime-sponsored narco-terrorism enterprise based in Venezuela.
Now look, this designation is important.
In order for Trump to invoke the Alien Enemies Act, legal arguments have said
there needs to be a war or there has to be an invasion from a specific country.
It seems that Trump is using the terror designation of Tren de Aragua alongside
the group's ties to Venezuela to make this designation.
A terror war and a foreign invasion by Venezuela.
Under this order, Trump says all individuals described are now subject to immediate apprehension,
detention and removal from the United States and also notes they will not be permitted
residence in the United States.
However, a federal judge has now temporarily blocked the order and has ordered the deportation
flights carrying Tren de Aragua gang members to El Salvador that they have to turn around
and bring those gang members right back to the U.S.
But the first flight of Tren de Aragua gang members and MS-13, they already arrived in
El Salvador.
They were immediately transferred to the Terrorism Confinement Center.
We'll have to see what happens to these deportation flights,
but we could soon see a reduction of gangs in the United States.
