Tamar Lakes are located near the coastal resort of Bude, straddling the border between Cornwall and Devon in the South West of England12. This beautiful area comprises two lakes: the Upper Tamar Lake and the Lower Tamar Lake. The Upper Tamar Lake offers a variety of water activities and a three-mile circular path that is suitable for walkers, cyclists, and families1. The Lower Tamar Lake, constructed in the 1820s, is a designated Nature Reserve, providing a tranquil setting for bird watching.
Interestingly, the boundary between Devon and Cornwall runs right up the middle of Upper Tamar Lake1. The lakes are rich in flora and fauna, with a special population of willow tits, which are increasingly rare and on the brink of extinction in the UK1.

As we start our walk, you'll notice the tranquil beauty of the **Upper Tamar Lake**. It's a haven for wildlife, and lucky, you might spot some rare bird species. Next, we're heading to the **Lower Tamar Lake**. This lake is popular for its water activities. From sailing to windsurfing, there's something for every adventure enthusiast here.
