Andy we know the FAA just put a ground
stop there bring us up to speed on what
you're
learning yeah gray that ground stop now
in effect specifically because of what
happened because of that plane crash
like you said we're just learning
details about what type of plane we know
that this is a Lear jet that this was a
service Miss Mission rather it is a
medical jet if you will so what we're
hearing now though is we're starting to
learn that there were more people on
board I am now hearing from mult
multiple sources that it's up to six
people that were on that plane now when
you look at a number of those apps that
they have those flight tracker there's a
couple different types you can actually
see the plane when it took off and how
short of a time that it was actually in
the air it looks like it maybe was only
in the air for about 6 minutes and you
know when you're in the air Cotman and
the boulevard is not too far away from
where the Northeast Airport is so at
this point I can tell you too and some
of the people we're talking to here is
that the conditions for flying seem
foggy and rainy even just before 6:00
p.m. it appears that this flight took
off around 6:06 from Northeast Airport I
can tell you that Philadelphia police
are here detectives right now are in the
tower talking to air traffic controllers
up there trying to get all of those
details and there is a small police
presence here of course a number of the
uh air of the the private uh airlines
that or private uh airports here that
take off right now they right now they
uh have people that were waiting for
flights that have gone home because of
the ground stop as well so at this point
it is quiet at Northeast Airport eerily
quiet but again we're still learning
more about that information when you
talk about those medic Jets they could
be for a variety of reasons it could be
because they're transporting something
important such as organs uh if somebody
needs a transplant or it could be to
actually transport a patient and taking
that patient to get um medical care that
maybe they couldn't get in this area and
like you said it appears that this plane
was headed for Springfield Missouri
again the nuts and bolts that we're
getting at this point is that the flight
took off at 606 here from Northeast
Airport it looks like it was only in the
air for a matter of minutes before
crashing around Cotman and the boulevard
which of course is incredibly busy area
you're seeing those images come in
there's so much at that intersection
between the mall uh between the
boulevard there's just so much going on
it's probably one of the worst places in
Philadelphia that a plane could crash
because the amount of vehicles the
amount of traffic and because of the
amount of residential areas as well so
here at the airport they're gathering
information police are detectives like
we said are in the tower right now
they're Gathering more information about
who exactly was on that FL flight we're
hoping to learn more information but
what I'm getting now is I'm hearing from
multiple sources it was possibly up to
six people that were on that flight
which makes this even more even more
tragic and even more tragic when you
think if they were going somewhere to be
treated medically as well uh that just
makes us all the more sad so at this
point that's what we're seeing at
Northeast Airport again the ground stop
still continues here and at this point
employees inside aren't saying much but
um they're still gathering information
too and staying a breast to what the FAA
is telling them right now yeah any great
information and also some new
information from Annie McCormick there
outside the Northeast Philadelphia
Airport uh hearing from her sources that
possibly up to six people were on that
plane there that plane being described
from the FAA as a Learjet 55 crashing
about 6:30 Annie saying that the flight
took off around
