The leaves, roots, and flowers have been used for millennia as food, and they also have been revered for healing properties. They are especially beneficial for digestive health.
Another ancient plant that has been revered since ancient times is the olive tree. Its oil, fruit, and even wood have long been prized. There are remains of olive trees in the Mediterranean region which are believed to be thousands of years old. One grove of sixteen olive trees in Lebanon is known as Noah’s Sisters because the trees are believed to have been around since before the Flood.
