Tens of thousands are protesting after the mysterious fall of a 17-year-old student
named Deng Changxin on January 3rd.
People are angry.
And as of today, thousands have clashed with police forces.
In the process of demanding the truth about the boy.
This happened at the Pucheng Vocational School in Shanxi Province.
According to the official notice, there is no criminal investigation.
The suspicious way in which the school treated the parents and relatives, and the way that
the people, the local residents, are reacting to the situation, tells us that something
is fishy is going on here.
According to internet information, he was bullied in school and his fall is quite suspicious,
and there's also a rumor circulating that he was actually pushed instead of a self-inflicted
one.
Here's the background story.
Dong's mother arrived at the school in the early morning of January 2nd after receiving
a call from a teacher saying that something urgent had happened to her son at the school.
And this is all according to the post that was released by the uncle of the mother of
this child.
When she arrived at the school, the teacher took her to a classroom and wouldn't tell
her or let her go somewhere to find out what was happening.
And she tried to ask other students at the time, but they all frantically ran away saying
we don't know what's going on.
And it wasn't until 7am that morning when the school authorities finally came and told
her that her son had passed.
In the subsequent days, they continued to demand answers, and on January 5th, the school
teachers put them into a hotel room and took turns guarding them on rotation.
All this time, the boy's phone and watch were confiscated, the pictures inside his phones
were deleted.
If this all sounds familiar, it's because exactly about a year ago, there was another
case with a student, 14-year-old in that case, who also his life was ended, and the parents
tried to seek answers, and the school authorities didn't say anything was happening.
Finally, they were forced to take a compensation of a lump sum amount, and that was the end
of the story.
That also triggered a massive protest.
Now we see videos showing Deng's family, the mother holding the portrait of the child,
and crying, protesting outside of the school.
In the days following January 2nd, when this initially took place, local residents have
come out in troves, trying to find answers as to what happened to her son, but also just
to seek justice for the lack of answers.
It culminated on January 5th, the night of, to the morning of January 6th, which is today
as you see this video, pushing down barricades, clashing with the police.
And that's the biggest news in China right now.
As we speak, the extended clash likely will continue in the following days, and police
have locked down traffic-controlled areas close to it.
They've formed human lines trying to block the path for people to enter the school, and
at about 12am local time, which is our day, around noon, there were still people gathering,
trying to protest the situation.
Now as we speak, Deng's mother has posted a video on Chinese social media, telling people
to listen to the authorities, the official statements, and in the comments, it seems
like she has accepted the compensation, a total amount of about 3 million yuan, or about
400 US dollars, in settlement.
Now it's unclear if she voluntarily took this amount, or she was forced to, but to be frank
with you, the only way that this story would end is the local authorities going to force
the parents or the family to take that money, otherwise they're not getting anything, because
they're not winning a lawsuit against the school, because you know, those people are
the ones really backed by the government.
So in any case where there's injustice in China, the compensation really is the only
way.
And obviously it's not going to be worth the value of having her son be alive, but that
unfortunately is the only thing that she's getting.
So why always a cover up?
Well, according to available information, Deng was likely bullied, and the fact that
there's now rumors circulating that the boy who did this, pushed, probably has a strong
background, and was allowed to do anything, whether that is the son of a local official,
or you know, somebody has power, right?
And the school is willing to side with the abuser, or the person that's done this, and
to cover up.
This is very typical in the power dynamics among people, different classes in China.
So the cover up is sort of like the natural way.
In trying to keep stability in the situation, they create instability, as we've seen multiple
times, that protest, and the inevitable, people wanting to find answers, right?
The injustice, it's what leads people to come out, to try to, you know, despite knowing
that they might be clashing with the police.
And I think people are fed up to a certain extent.
And all of this is never going to get confirmed, right?
You're never going to hear the officials admit that yes, the person who's done this, or whatever
the real truth is, because that's just not how the CCP operates.
Now in this video, when the boy's uncle is trying to seek justice, this is now January
5th, and the coming video footage that I'm going to be showing for the nighttime happened
on January 5th.
When he was asking people around to continue to seek answers, in the next video here, we
see that the security guards at the school are essentially surrounding him and roughing
him up.
So it further amplifies the guess that this is a cover up, right?
Why would you do this to the victim's family?
According to the official police notice, that they're not pursuing criminal charges, but
they did mention that there was prior a physical and verbal conflict between the victim and
another student, a first-year student.
And that after they had this verbal confrontation, physical confrontation, they had gone back
to the dorm rooms, and then afterwards, it was found that the boy had fell.
But that really answers no question as to why the school is covering that up.
If it was really a simple case of he voluntarily chose to end it, versus what was happening,
why don't you interview that student that he was having a conflict with?
None of that is being revealed.
And the lack of transparency is why people continue to protest and continue to try to
seek answers.
So since January 5th, the night of, they've been coming to the schools, going into, trying
to find reasons with the administrators, obviously there were nowhere to be found at the time.
And around the same time, social media platforms in China have been deleting videos regarding
the situation.
Once they're uploaded, if they contain anything mentioning Pucheng, the school, or the area,
it can quickly be scrubbed from their platform, as well as live streams throughout this whole
event, if it's even in the local area.
If it's somebody that's doing their live stream, but they're not even doing the topic related
to this incident, as long as somebody commented in the live stream comments, that live stream
could get shut down.
So people are saying, you know, don't talk about this case, because they don't want their
live streams to be shut down.
And so fast forward to today, more people showed up to try to find answers.
Now we're talking about tens of thousands.
They've started in the early morning, they've rushed down the gates, the police have been
dispatched, they came with riot shields and batons, the people were fighting back.
So now all the footage that I'm going to be showing are from today.
They did find the vice principal of the school and surrounded him demanding answers.
And many made their ways inside the school, they smashed a window, they went into the
cafeteria, they went into the school teacher's office, and they just started to smash things
out because they're so angry.
And this clash extended till the early morning of the local time, which is now the following
day for China.
And people were still out on the street, they're still protesting.
And because they've overpowered the police, we're now seeing streets filled with people.
And they're really just trying to keep this flame ignited and alive.
And I think this is something that really needs to happen if they're trying to find
answers.
Now, we're going to likely see the next step is the higher level, the higher tier of government,
so it could be the city level or the township level, or even the provincial level government
step in to do their independent quote unquote investigation, which obviously is not going
to be independent.
But that's the idea.
They escalate this until it reaches a certain point where the official says, let's end here.
But it seems like in this case, because the mother had already released a video, it seems
like the case is going to get shut down fairly quickly.
And unfortunately, it might just end up being another of those miserable, unanswered experience
in China.
And that's just how it is.
It'll end with the victim's family receiving a little bit of compensation, not enough to
be worth of the life that they just lost.
But that's unfortunately the reality.
So like I mentioned, there was the exact same sort of playbook used exactly one year ago
This is the biggest story in China right now.
A 14-year-old boy was murdered after he stumbled upon two of his teachers having an affair.
They tortured him to death, and the family didn't learn about this until nine hours after.
This has led to massive protests since December 27th.
But the local government across three levels have deemed this as a suicide case.
They've stepped in.
They've called in police to suppress the protesters, despite injuries suggesting there's puncture
wounds and bruises and a broken ankle.
The CCP typically covers up this type of event, forces the family to take a lump sum payment,
and no further justice can be sought out.
This story made it to state media, and they continually repeated the suicide narrative.
But all the comments are satirical.
Like our 90-year-old village man had twins the other day.
I'm a guy, had my period today, and I am 518 years old.
Hi, is today the 32nd?
Or hi, my 100-plus-year-old girlfriend is pregnant, what do I do?
Yeah, this is the reality of China today.
Reality is what the CCP deems it to be, to bend and twist in whichever way that suits
stability and the regime's power.
As we are nearing the Chinese New Year, which is at the end of this month, we're going to
see more and more of these tragedies pop up, because with the lack of pay from many of
the workers who are unable to get paid, we might see more rampages, we might see a lot
of these revenge against society cases.
In schools, everybody, every level of society is having this pressurized reaction to the
world.
And unfortunately, a lot of that ends in misery.
So hopefully you understood the situation.
Let me know in the comments if you have any questions about this case and what you might
have found online regarding the Pucheng incident that just happened in recent days.
