Community rallies against hate after teens charged in racist, antisemitic graffiti

Community members gathered at Weldon Playground in Glenside on Thursday night in a strong show of support after Abington police said three teenage boys were charged in connection with racist and antisemitic graffiti found at the park.

Community members said hatred does not define their community, but how they respond to it together does.

"This is our community. We choose unity and reject hate," said Michele Cooper, chair of the Abington Township Human Relations Commission.

"For the people who wrote these things, be clear, you have not dented our armor; you have polished our steel," said Marshall Mitchell, pastor of Salem Baptist Church.
