The fox and the cat

One day, a cat met a clever fox in the forest. The fox bragged, “I know a hundred tricks! I can escape anything!”

The cat smiled and said, “I only know one trick: when hounds chase me, I climb a tree.”

Suddenly, a hunter and his dogs appeared. The cat quickly sprang up a tree and hid. The fox tried to use his many tricks but was caught by the dogs.

The cat called down, “Your hundred tricks didn’t save you! My one skill did.”

Moral: It’s better to master one useful skill than to boast about many you can’t use.
