GREECE TRAVEL VLOG | SANTORINI & ATHENS (during the off season!!) 🇬🇷🤍

We are at our Airbnb in Athens and the view is absolutely insane. So this is the porch I'm standing on and then this is our view. How stunning is this? You can also see Acropolis perfectly right over there. We have an incredible view of it. We also have a view of this over here. And then on this side, we have a view of this alleyway. But yeah, I just wanted to start off the vlog. I'm so happy to be here in Greece. Greece has definitely been a bucket list destination for me for a really long time. So it's just crazy that I'm actually here. And also like shout out to my parents for like planning this whole thing for me and my sister. It's been really fun so far. And I don't know what we're gonna do tonight. We actually like literally just got to the Airbnb. So we'll probably like chill for a little bit and then probably go out for dinner or something. Oh my gosh, you guys, the sun is almost fully set and the sky is pink, but look at the Acropolis like all lit up with the pink background. Oh my gosh. Hey guys, I just got out of the shower. That's why my hair is all wet. But my mom made us a little homemade dinner. We got some pasta and some Parmesan on top. And then we're eating outside because obviously we want to enjoy this lovely view. Oh, also I saw this thing over here. So there's like a rooftop restaurant right there. And then on the wall right here, they're like projecting a movie and having a little movie night. How cool is that? It's like one of those older movies cause it's like in all black and white and stuff, but that's so cool. It's also my mom's first time here in Greece. How are you feeling, mom? I love it. Yeah? Yeah. It's so cool. Good morning, you guys. It is a beautiful sunny day here in Athens. The sun is out. It's actually quite warm, which is honestly really nice. I think we're going to go up and see the Acropolis today and explore the Athens ruins. And yeah, I'm not sure what else we're going to get up to today. Probably just explore around and see what we can find. ♪♪♪ Mom and dad are getting some cute pics. Haha! You are so cute! Guys, we are exploring Plaka right now and it is gorgeous. Everywhere you turn, so many beautiful like alleyways and colorful buildings. I'm obsessed. There's also a ton of really cute cats here, which I feel like Greece is known for just having a bunch of random cute cats everywhere. Now we are on our way to the street with the most popular cafes. Oh wow, wait, this is gorge. Look at this. That's gorgeous. Look how pretty. Oh my gosh, you guys, it is the nicest day out today. Oh wow. Oh my gosh. This is so sick. ♪♪♪ Mmm. Oh, that looks so good. Yes, five corners in the corner. Yeah. We're currently taking a little food break. We stopped at this restaurant. I don't know how to pronounce the name at all, but I'll try to put it on the screen. And apparently my dad saw in a YouTube video. You saw in a YouTube video? I did, yeah. He saw that apparently this place has the best calamari in all of Athens, and me and my family are very much calamari people, so we will be the judge of that. I'm sure it's really good. Oh my gosh. Thank you. Wow, that looks delicious. Oh my God, it looks so good. It smells so good. Squeeze some lemon on there. Okay, cheers. Wow. That's like fresh from the ocean. Very oceany. I like it. We are now on our way to check out to the Acropolis. We just walked up a very steep hill for this, and we were kind of out of breath, but it'll be worth it. Made it in, you guys. We got a little bit of a hike to go, all the way up there. About to work off all that calamari and fries that we just ate for lunch. This is sick. Whoa. This is crazy. This view is insane. You can see all of Athens from here. With this view, you can even see the ocean over there. Such a pretty day. This place is so cool, you guys. You need to come here. If you come to Athens. I mean, obviously, it's the number one thing to do here, but literally, it's so worth it. Oh my gosh. There it is. Guys, we made it to the Partheon, and it is so sick. Kitty at the Partheon. I feel like it's so crazy, because this is the stuff you see in your history books in high school and elementary school, and I'm literally here. Insane. Absolutely insane. Also, it's so stunning here. It's a stunning, beautiful day. Wow. Absolutely breathtaking. This is so cool. I'm currently sitting on the bench taking a little break-sies. Press the button three. Made it. Home sweet home. So, we took a little break at our Airbnb after getting gelato, but now we are back out on the town, and we are trying to find this new town. I forgot the name of it here. I'll probably plop it on the screen so I don't mispronounce it, but we're trying to find that right now. Look at this kitty. Hello. Hello, buddy. You are so cute. My dad just told me the town we're trying to find is called Anamfeotica. Dad, do you wanna give my vlog that little history lesson you told me about Anamfeotica, the neighborhood? Sure, so about 200 years ago, people from the Greek islands were famous for the white buildings and whatnot. They moved here. Yeah, like Santorini. Yeah, like Santorini. So, they moved here, and they wanted a neighborhood within this neighborhood to feel like home, so they built an area with the white buildings and everything, like the islands, the Greek islands. So, that's where we're headed. That's where we're headed. It's up, up, up at the top. So, maybe if you can't make it to Santorini while you're in Greece, and you're in Athens, you go to Anamfeotica. Okay, we're currently on the way, but I did wanna mention, if you wanna get to this place, it's kind of a hassle. Not a hassle, but you just have to know where you're going. I will link a video down below of how you can get here, because it's basically how my dad knows how to get here. We're here, and it's so pretty. Wow, these red little accent windows are so nice. Wow, this really looks like Santorini right here. Currently going up these stairs, because there's a really nice view at the top over here. ♪♪♪ So, we are currently out doing some shopping, and we stumbled upon this store called Finky Greece. It's really cute. I couldn't record anything in there. There weren't photos or videos allowed, but if you guys are ever in the area, I would highly recommend going, because they have a lot of really cute and aesthetic and Greece-themed souvenirs. I got these cute little magnets. So, they're like little boarding passes slash flight tickets. This one says, F it, let's go to Athens. And then I got two more of the same ones to possibly give to my friends. This one says, F it, let's go to Mykonos. I just thought these were so cute, and they had so much more cute stuff in there. So, you guys should definitely go stop on by, because I loved it. I just literally stumbled upon it while walking on this street of shops. Oh my gosh, you guys, I'm dead. That's so funny. They even have different sizes. Oh my goodness, you guys, look what I just stumbled upon. The frickin' fish foot spa thing from that episode of Victorious. Oh my gosh, I didn't think you could actually do this in real life. That's so insane. These fish will just eat the dead skin off of your feet. In case you're wondering, it's called Dr. Fish. This is just too funny to me. We are currently in a Starbucks. We popped in because my family likes to collect the little Starbucks We Are Here collection mugs. And the Athens one is just super cute. I love the colors on it, so we're gonna get one of these. Good morning, guys. It is our last morning in Athens. My mom and I have just been kind of walking around aimlessly because a bunch of stuff is closed today. It's Saturday, so stuff opens later. So we just spent some time walking around the city slash neighborhood of Plaka because the views and everything there is just so beautiful. So we spent our morning walking around there for the past hour. And then I do wanna get something to eat this morning before we head to the airport. So I saw the Starbucks opens around 8.30, which is in about like 10 minutes. So we're gonna head there. We got out here at like 7.30. And we also don't have to be at the airport till like 10. So we just wanted to like go out and do something while we wait. There's a doggie. There's a doggie over there. Look at this cute little doggie. All right, guys, we are all packed up to go to Santorini. I'm so excited because our Airbnb is going to be actually insane. I don't know if I mentioned this in the vlog already, but our Airbnb kind of got upgraded because our original Airbnb, which was like pretty sick on its own, something like happened, like we can't stay there. And the host said we could stay at this other Airbnb, which is honestly like 10 times better because it has like a hot tub and like this really cool balcony. You guys will see once we get there, but it's gonna be so sick. So let's go to Santorini. This is insane. We're going down to the Airbnb now. The lady ahead, that's Christina. She's our host. She's so nice, lugging my luggage down these stairs. This is actually so insane, you guys. It's one of the very rarest because the owner, he's an architect and he decided to leave it as it was. And he's doing the renovation, but still this is handmade. I don't know. It's done by hand. Exactly, totally. Oh my gosh, what the heck? Guys, we made it to our Airbnb and it is absolutely insane, unreal. Do you guys see? I've only seen that in pictures on Pinterest. Like that's insane. And we have this sick hot tub. We are for sure hanging out in here today. Oh my gosh. And then this view is just absolutely insane. And there's like nobody here, you guys. We're here during the off season and we came here on purpose so that no one else would be here. And clearly we are here during a beautiful time. And we got really lucky with the weather. Our Airbnb host, Christina, was just telling us how there was really bad weather last week and it was like pouring rain. But now it's beautiful and I'm so happy. This is the view from this side, you guys. This weather and this honestly is like a once in a lifetime thing. And I'm gonna savor every moment of it. We also need to note the history behind this specific house. Dad, do you wanna share with the vlog the history? Our host told us this was the very first true cave built home in Santorini. Built by hand with volcanic rock on the inside. She gave us a whole history lesson so we feel very blessed and lucky that we're staying here. I love the history behind it, it's so cool. Oh my gosh, this view. Mom, come here. Look at this. This is crazy. Oh my God. Everyone say Santorini. Santorini. You guys, we made it to Santorini and more specifically the city of Ia. We made it to our Airbnb and it's actually insane. Hello kitty. Wait, you wanna be in the vlog? Look at this cat. It's pulling up. Hello buddy, hi. You wanna be in my vlog? Hello. Can you stay there, you can't go in the house. Anyways, as I was saying before that cat showed up, I need to do an Airbnb tour immediately because it's unreal, absolutely unreal. So let's get started. So right here is obviously the front entryway that goes up to the porch, but I'm gonna start inside. Right, so here we got the front door. It's a cute little like Dutch door situation where you have this top part of the door and then you can also just obviously open the bottom part to go in. And then this is what you see when you first walk in. It's like the main living room, a little kitchen area. And our host, Cristina, is actually telling us more about the history of the place. And it's really cool because this used to be like their oven situation. So this house is like the original house. It was all hand-built and whoever used to live here, they literally would cook their food in here. And then this is the bathroom. It's gorgeous. She said they just redid it. I'm definitely gonna be taking some mirror selfies in here. And then going out of the bathroom, we have my sister chilling on like the living room bench right here. And then over here, it's like the main bedroom. We have my mom over here. She's all ready. We're about to go out to the grocery store. So we're getting ready, but I wanted to do the house tour before this. So here is the main bed. It's really, really nicely decorated. And then going back out, if we go down more into the cave, we have this area and then we have like a skylight window up here. So this is actually to get like fresh air and everything. And obviously lights into the house because obviously when you go down here, it's more like cave-like. So then we go down here and then just ignore me and my sister's luggages. But this is where we're staying. It's so cool because it's like an actual cave. And then on this side, there's just like a dresser and some extra stuff over here. Okay, now we're gonna move on to the outside part, which is obviously the best part of it all. Right, so we have these stairs over here and then obviously there's this insane view. But if we go up these stairs first, this is our terrace. We have some lounging chairs over here. We have like a little bench with cushions. The best part is this hot tub. We will absolutely be using this as soon as possible. And then the most incredible thing of all, this insane view, absolutely breathtaking. It's literally straight out of a Pinterest board. And yeah, that's the end of the Airbnb tour. Now we're gonna go out and get some groceries. My mom really wants to get some wine so we can just chill out here, chill in the hot tub and just drink and relax and soak it all in because we are only here for one day and two nights. So we've got to make the most of it. I already know where I'm going for one of these. Oh my goodness, hello, hi. A lot of groceries stocked up on Powerade, clearly. Ina's got the bag full of our ingredients that my mom will make for Adobo tonight. All right guys, we're back at the Airbnb. My sister is gonna help me take some pics. Also, there's this cat here. Let me show you guys. Literally keeps following me around and she, she or he, I don't know which one you are, but she or he made an appearance in my pics I just took downstairs by the door. I will never get over this insane view. You guys, I can't. I did a little outfit change and we're gonna take some more photos because I'm like, I need to take advantage of this opportunity. It's golden hour and it's just absolutely sunny out here. And I don't know. I'm just so happy. All right, you guys, just finished the shoots. We got the shots and I'm very happy with how the pictures turned out. Also, I just realized we came here straight from the airport, so I don't have any makeup on, but I still really like how the photos turned out and I felt really pretty. So that's a self-confidence win in my book. But yeah, we're just gonna probably end the night watching the sunset, chilling. My mom made Filipino chicken adobo for dinner tonight. So I'm so excited to eat that. Her adobo is my favorite. And yeah, we'll see what else we get up to tonight. All right, guys, the sun just went down. It was such a pretty sunset. I also wanted to show Kitty again because she's just been chilling with us this whole time. We took some more photos and she wanted to be in the photos again. So I will insert those here because they're just like too cute. All right, guys, we got our robes on. We found the robes in the Airbnb. Literally, me and all my family put on robes. Oh, it's dark. But we're about to go hop in the hot tub right now. Ooh, it's kind of cold outside. Oh. Cheers. Oh. Guys, as you can tell, it is just the most gorgeous morning out here today in Ia. And I feel so lucky and blessed with this weather. We are up early to get our day started because we only have this one full day here. We actually have to leave at like 5 a.m. tomorrow. So we really got to make the most of our day today. So plan for right now, we're going to go to this cafe that I saw yesterday. It's called Lona. It's literally like a five minute walk from my Airbnb, which is super easy. And then we're going to head into the town of Pira where there's more like shops and restaurants open than here in Ia during the off season. And then we'll probably just head back here to our Airbnb because honestly, like, I just want to soak it all in and stay here as long as possible because staying at this insane Airbnb is like a once in a lifetime opportunity. Like we weren't even supposed to stay here originally. So like, we got to, we got to make the most of it. All right guys, we stopped at Luna. I got a fresh orange juice. Me and my family have been obsessed with fresh squeezed orange juice this entire trip. But now we are walking through Ia to find like the famous Instagram Pinterest spots. There's this guy that has this video on YouTube and he shows you exactly how to get there with like directions and everything. So we just watched that and we're going to follow those directions and yeah, we're going to try to find them. I'll link the video down below. Left dad? Okay. Yeah, so I'll link the video down below in case you guys ever come here and you need directions on how to find the same places. We found it. Oh my gosh, that's so cool. All right, you guys, we made it to the first famous Instagram spot. The one with the three blue domes of the church. There's literally no one here, you guys. We didn't have to wait any turns. We could take as long as we wanted taking our pictures. And then also on the other side of this area, over there where my family is, it's also a really nice area for taking pictures. So I think we're going to go there next. Honestly, you guys coming during the off season is kind of the move because there's genuinely nobody here and you can get all the photos that you want with the caveat that the weather could be bad. We just got really lucky when we came. There's my sister taking some photos with this gorgeous view. My turn to take pics now. I have to put some gloss on first. This is the Summer Fridays Lip Oil. It's my absolute favorite right now. All right, location number two, done. It's getting freaking hot. All right, guys, we made it to this second location. It's just a different view of the blue dome churches. I don't think we're going to do any pictures here because the lighting is kind of like eh, but it's still a beautiful view. I definitely prefer the first one though. All right, we are off to the next location now, which is by the castle, the ruins of the castle of Iga. Guys, as we're walking around right now, it's like actually insane. There's no one here. I've come across like maybe five people and they're probably locals that live here. If you guys have the chance to come during the off season, I definitely recommend. Hopefully, whoa, look at this view. Sorry, I got distracted by this view, but I would definitely recommend because it's so much nicer with not a ton of people here. I can't imagine how busy it is in the summer. All right, we made it to the castle area. Whoa, look at that view. Do you guys see that view behind me? That is actually insanity. Look at that, you guys. It's such a pretty day today too. All right, guys, we just got done on our little tour of picturesque places. Honestly, even if you don't like taking pictures, I would just recommend following that because you come across so many beautiful parts of Iga even when you're just walking around in the streets and in the alleyways. But yeah, we literally just spent the whole morning taking pictures and just exploring and walking around. Now we're just gonna go and catch the bus to Fira because they have a ton more shops, restaurants, and markets open. And then also we just wanna explore that city as well. So we made it into Fira. We were gonna eat at this restaurant right here, but it doesn't open till 12 and I think it's around 10.30, but we're really hungry and we saw that there's a McDonald's here randomly. So we wanna check it out and get a little snack from there. No, the McDonald's is closed until April. Okay, this is a con of coming during the off season. Lots of things are closed. Okay, there is this cute little cafe next door that's open. So we're gonna pop in here. We just got our food. Look at this huge Asiago. Okay, you don't really eat half her Asiago bagel, but it's huge. It's like the size of her head. And I got an iced oat latte. It's actually really, really good. And then I got a nice little chocolate croissant. Mom's first in line for this lunch place. First customer of the day. All right, the lunch place is finally open. You guys, this place is so cheap and I heard it's really good. My mom's friend went here and she recommended it because one, it's cheap. Two, it's really good. That's all you can ask for in life, to be honest. I will put the menu on the screen right now so you can see all the prices and what they offer. But yeah, I'm so excited to eat, you guys. I got a chicken gyro and then we also got the spicy meatballs. Cheers. This meatball is bomb. All right, I'm gonna give the gyro a try. That's just beautiful. All right, Ina just pulled up to the gelato place, got her gelato. How is it? What would you rate it? Well, I didn't really want the vanilla one, so I'm waiting to erase the coffee. Okay. But the vanilla's pretty good. This is the gelato place. It's called Solo Gelato. And then the lunch place is just right over there. All right, Ina got into the coffee portion of her gelato. She's gonna rate it. Wow, really rich. It's giving like Vietnamese coffee. Ooh, okay. We love that. What would you rate it out of 10? Eight out of 10. All right. We just got to this really beautiful restaurant. This is the name of it. I don't wanna butcher it, but yeah, we're just here to grab a drink. Ina's gonna get a pasta. I'm gonna get a white wine. And we're just gonna chill. Also, something to note about this place, the staff and waiters here are super nice and super accommodating. Like we're currently sitting at this table that's like meant just for three people and there's four of us. And they're like, oh, you can sit here first and then we'll move you. But it ended up being like big enough for all of us. So we told them that it's fine, but it was like very nice and considerate that they're like, oh, you sit here first and then we'll move you when we're done. So yeah. Nice staff here. Thank you. Cheers. Thank you. Mm, that's good. All right, our order came. Ina got this seafood linguine. Looks really good. Mom and I got some wine. And then dad got this fruit waffle. Incredible, huh? I think we just got a complimentary dessert. You think? Well, we didn't order it. She said on the house. Oh, she said on the house. You didn't hear her? I didn't hear her. Wow. They're so nice here. We're gonna try. Is it honey? That's really good. It tastes like that Filipino dessert. The Filipino, yeah, karaoke. It's rice. It tastes like that. All right, guys, we are back at the Airbnb. I got my robe on. And you know what that means? We're heading to the jacuzzi. Gonna enjoy the jacuzzi during the daytime now. My mom's already up here. I'm gonna join her. How's the jacuzzi, mom? Pretty good. Good? With this insane view. Last night we couldn't see the view because it was dark. But now we obviously see all of it. Thank you. Hey guys, we just got out of the hot tub. Just took a quick body shower. And now I have to pack up all of my stuff because we gotta leave at 5 a.m. tomorrow. So I gotta wake up at like 4.30. It's currently around 10 p.m. But I'm gonna miss our little cave room. It's a literal cave, you guys. It's been so cool to stay here. But we gotta leave tomorrow. So I'm gonna pack up my stuff and I think I might end the vlog here because all we're doing tomorrow is flying back to Barcelona. I literally have had the best time and I'm so grateful that we got to stay in this sick-ass Airbnb. Like, again, we weren't even originally supposed to stay here. It was truly such a blessing and just really good timing with the weather and everything. Everything has just been so perfect. It's kind of incomprehensible and I hope I just didn't jinx that. Anyways, I just wanna say I'm so grateful and so blessed and feel so lucky to have gone on a trip like this with my family and shout out to my mom and dad again for arranging this whole trip for me and my sister. I am so grateful for them, that they take the time, the energy, the money to do all this for us. So yeah, thank you, mom and dad, if you're watching this, I love you.
