is having a scarcity mindset versus an
abundance mindset the reason why a lot
of Chinese communities globally have The
Stereotype of Being Greedy or selfish is
this even true not true where does it
come from and what can be done about it
let me just run real quick the clip from
Chinese Australian YouTuber
KES it's likely you saw videos such as
these circulating online a while ago nor
is Costco going to run out of stock so
why do they seem so desperate to grab
everything they can despite the fact
that there's plenty for everyone to
share well this is because there's a
culture of scarcity within China boom
listen I'm telling you this is a Chinese
Australian kid he's covering fake food
in China the brain damage from video
games in East Asia the Mental Health
crisis the Chinese in student
international student influx and the
Chinese love of gambling but for this
video he was talking about how the
scarcity mindset caused by a lot of
poverty famine the cultural revolution
uh cause this selfish greed greedy
stereotype that you see um you know I
wouldn't say that all Chinese people
have this but certainly a certain subset
of Chinese do and that certain subset go
viral for their behavior at various
Costco openings or perhaps even Costco
in America so anyway guys we are going
to get into it make sure you like
subscribe turn your notifications we've
definitely talked about this topic
before um it's specifically like a
Chinese American topic but you know CH
being Chinese is so complicated you
could be from Mainland you could be from
Hong Kong you could be from Taiwan you
could be from Singapore you could be
from Malaysia you could be from Thailand
even and be ethnically Chinese but I
believe this is uh you know referring to
people with lineages or family
backgrounds and and having gone through
the history of mainland China so anyway
guys real quick I want to Define greed
greed in this case is talked about
interpersonal micro behaviors because
there was a lot of people saying yeah if
you think China is greedy think about
the American Western Green trying to
take over the world and carve it up
cause a military CP displace the world
you know everybody have to speak English
so yeah that is actually a valid point
but it's not necessarily valid to these
inpersonal like more human behaviors at
the supermarket or Costco and I guess
that you can look at things within a
total uh you know geopolitical Spectrum
but sometimes you got to just keep the
micro fish bowls the micro fish bowls so
anyway guys let's just you know like I
said I'm going to go through Point by
point of his video I'm going to leave a
link below but basically this was the
main comments it says the main reaction
to his 20-minute video which was very
well researched even though I don't
fully necessarily agree with the tone or
all of his explanations is mainland
Chinese people are just disappointing
people it's China what do you expect but
then a Chinese person said yeah they
will CH through the generations perhaps
you could do another episode on us later
on us Chinese again I think this
behavior is worth studying so what beh
Behavior are we referring to let's go to
his video it opens with clips from a
opening of a Costco I don't know if this
is a first tier City second tier City
third tier city in China Costco chickens
let's run the
clip boom of course there was a viral
clip of bwan making fun of this on JK
let's run that clip too for a little bit
Chinese people ruin they ruin it you
know dude everything you hate about
Chinese people imagine time 10 in a
supermarket so like imagine like you
look at it yeah I'll be Chinese look at
it you know what I don't like about
Chinese people oh excuse me or
something's on
sale they're box it out yeah it's like
and then there also like Haw and lugies
at you and no one can drive the parking
lot's a mess bro the aisles like the
shopping think about Chinese people on
plane aisles second that [ __ ] lands you
know Chinese people with crab legs at
the buffet
like that free samples want to try this
new hot dog no everyone's like oh this
is pretty good yeah hey every everybody
come here long story short man this is a
global sterp so clearly there's evidence
of it being true enough do I think this
is true for all Chinese people 100 out
of 100 absolutely not but obviously it's
true enough and then he talks about this
uh anecdote whereas grandparents in
China walk two hours just to save $10
USD I think $10 USD I I I don't think I
think it's $10 R and be but who knows um
he talks about the secondhand
embarrassment I think that this is the
more Point that's more Salient or more
relevant to ABCs or whether you say ABCs
is Australian BCS or cbc's or ABC you
know American or Canadian it's like if
you're watching this video your family
probably isn't directly like this or
maybe even if they are a little bit like
this you're not like this but maybe you
have an auntie or uncle or a grandparent
that may somebody at your church
somebody within your community somebody
that's Loosely related to you that more
exhibits these behaviors at a higher
extremity level but it May trickle down
even to your own self-image and
potentially so that's what you see in
the mirror but even how people treat you
once they hear they're Chinese you're
Chinese because they're like oh you're
from that group that does those even
though you guys are powerful you guys
are super cheap and uncool so that may
change your interpersonal pings with
even other Asians I I don't even think
non-asians really make the distinction
as much unless they're Asian files but
it's more like within Asians anyway he
talks about how this mindset of scarcity
which is like just never feeling like
there's enough and it's a very fixed pie
so instead of growing the pie which is
an abundance mindset you have a fixed
pie so you got to eat the biggest slice
of the pie which causes this like self
self whether it's the outcome is
essentially selfish or greedy whether or
not it's like actually was the initial
intention so he talks about how it could
be a real mindset or perceived mindset
and I think the biggest thing is like
sometimes when Chinese go overseas and
it varies family to family by the way
I've seen it both ways it's like some
people are not adapting to their new
Fishbowl if their new Fishbowl like
America it does better when you have an
abundance mindset but if you come in
with the scarcity mindset it could
actually like be the wrong schematic
it's almost like in Europe feba
basketball pass pass pass pass is better
but in the NBA the way they've
structured it you know a shot going up
in seven seconds is a better scheme even
though technically playing real
basketball is a better scheme it has to
do with like the how the scheme fits the
context of whatever you're trying to
operate into so sometimes when you go in
with a scarcity mindset that's driven
from real trauma or real situations you
went through in China and you take it to
an abundance culture mindset you may
have behaviors that seem really
unappealing or just simply really uncool
right anyway moving on his video he
talks about tangible resource scarcity
versus intangible resource scarcity
there's so many ways to do it and the
framing of tangible resource scarcity
and the schematics and the mindsets that
emerge from it can vary so much because
I would say the Jewish and Japanese
people are very frugal value-minded they
get their money's worth they make sure
the juice is worth the squeeze they get
good Roi they're not wasteful they take
a conservative approach to value
proposition they would negotiate at a
car dealership pretty hard too Japanese
and Jewish people specifically but the
thing is why do Chinese and Indian
people get put in the like you guys are
like too cheap category right and what's
the truth in it what's the not truth in
it because there's a lot of super rich
Chinese and Indians too right these are
just gigantic swads of people that just
have embody every stereotype at some
sort of large volume to be honest when
you look at the scalability of the
sample size anyway um he talk about
intangible resource scary scarcity which
is time and energy using your time and
energy wisely so it's like uh you know
that's a whole another thing too cuz
sometimes when you have two scarcity of
a mindset it's like your mom's like
maybe if she's like thinking about
saving money she's driving to three
different supermarkets to get the best
price on oranges but if you look at
opportunity cost you would have just
been better getting the more expensive
oranges Saving Time banking the time at
something more profitable um it's about
like um you know cost of opportunities
and things like that anyway um he talks
about insufficient financial literacy
I do think that a lot of Village Chinese
specifically that's the ones he's
referring to second tier cities are the
ones that are in these Costco videos I'm
I'm just keeping it real save save save
is a better technical Baseline than
spend spend spend when you don't come
from a high Capital High cash flow um
High you know um asset value background
however it is a little bit too basic
because sometimes you do need to invest
sometimes you need to keep the flow up
in The Vibes up and the Ambiance and the
environment and the environment like the
the US economy runs on a certain flow
where people make a lot but they spend a
lot and obviously he basically was
referring to like China right now is
like even saving so much money it might
be killing the economy because there's
like 1.6 to 2.6 trillion dollars in
China that are chilling in bank accounts
or like non-moving non-circulating
assets and that can like kind of
constrict a provide a choke point for
economic flow and um domestic
consumption at least and then uh yeah he
basically talks about how being overly
scarce in your mindset it leads you to
being cheap jumpy anxious not confident
and I would say to be honest this he
didn't talk about this not cool but um
I've seen people that did get stuck
between the you know the fight to
survive and not feeling like they had
enough it's not a good mental space to
be in but he also talks about how that's
driven from possibly the cultural
revolution and poverty and famine and
who know who caused it was it the
Japanese and blah blah blah blah blah to
be honest it doesn't really matter
because we are where we are now he also
talks about it's a combination of
financial illiteracy poor money
management bad bad financial choices and
no saving techniques I would say this
man like a lot of poor Chinese is like
you have to understand different
environments cause for you to hold the
dove differently sometimes like with
money you can't be too loose all the
money goes away right you go too tight
you suffocate the Dove and the push and
pull of what type of Dove that is and
how tight to hold it it just varies per
situation but a lot of people they can't
even make a read on every situation that
they're in so they just like stick with
one plan and that plan is just
suboptimal ultimately um moving on he
talks about how many people in China
feel like they're living a hyper
overwork life in exchange for very
little Leisure or dopamine
I would agree with that too honestly
some Chinese Americans they end up
replicating it and the reason they
replicated because that's the
programming the iOS programming the
Android programming whatever you want to
call it the architecture that they got
from their parents so even if there a
slight evolution of a flawed
architecture sometimes it doesn't
mitigate all the downside effects it's
not like they're a completely different
architecture right um he talks about it
also leads to feeling undeserving a
successor abundance man to be honest
I'll say this in the most extreme cases
of what he's referring to some Chinese
immigrants or even people in China they
feel the opposite of what I think
Mexicans or Latinos feel cuz often times
I'm not saying all but like when I grew
up around a lot of Latinos they always
operated from an abundance growth I mean
not growth but like just grateful
mindset whereas like Chinese sometimes
even the ones that are have money are
still not even grateful for the money
that they have because it a lot of life
is dependent on how you perceive certain
stimuluses and when you your perception
releases certain androgens and chemicals
in your body you can actually control
your serotonin endorphin dopamine and
cortisol like depression chemical
release to some extent by through your
perception right because there's a gap
in happiness between uh reality and
expectation and etc etc you set some of
those you know you you set some of these
markers that create disparities or you
know uh the other way too would create
uh surpassing your expectations now
you're elated right anyway Point number
four part number four your video he
talks about behavior and programming
being passed down basically he asked has
some questions that you should ask
yourself uh is what you're feeling
actually valid you need exposure therapy
being grateful for what you have here's
the thing a lot of Chinese people even
if you tell them this if they're from
like a certain old way of living or
they're from the village or some sort of
like
almost
dogmatic they think they're being
pragmatic but they're not being
pragmatic and not adjusting to the new
Fishbowl that they've entered it's like
it's it's really difficult I'm not
saying it's impossible but it's really
really difficult for them to really get
it into their brain from what I've seen
um just over rap after r after rep
anyway here's my quick thoughts before
we get into the comment section um I do
think that there's a lack of a
self-correcting or like shame based
system in China because uh it's
different tribal Dynamics than Japanese
and Koreans for sure they tend to more
like really um how do you say it like
self-correct within themselves Chinese
is such a big group we speak different
languages we eat different food we're
mixed with different tribes of people
even in an ancient sense we're less
ethnically homogenous so I just think
that it's like weird
I'm not saying it's impossible and
that's why you need to sign up for Tiger
Club in the comment section below but
it's almost
like it's it's crazy and it's funny
because there's like those like white
guys who run channels just pointing out
bad Chinese Behavior or like flawed
Chinese thinking but it's like they do
it from like a place of superiority
superiority or NE not necessarily with
the most Compassion or the most like I
don't know you know what I mean like but
and what they say is not fully wrong
either there's some truthfulness to it
even though it may be exaggerated anyway
moving on my thought number two um I
think that people really need to live in
abundance before they can feel abundant
and when you feel abundant that's when
you break out of the scarcity mindset so
how do people feel abundant they may
need to shift their mindset they may may
need to get around new people they need
to get in a situation where they're not
always like dude you can meet even if
your family has $20 million USD net
worth it's it's enough to live I don't
care even if you're talking about
London really expensive places to live
that's enough for generational wealth
and then you look and then you all of a
sudden you're feeling bad because you
meet somebody who has $200 million
family net worth it's ridiculous but
literally that goes back to what I'm
saying you control your own Androgen
release chemically within your own body
based off expectation uh so Point number
three I think a lot of things are like a
muscle in life and the reason why
culture is so hard to break is because
you have to atrophy the prior muscle
then double down on creating a new
muscle to replace it and perhaps it's a
little bit more like bone calcium
because I think maybe when I use the
muscle analogy people are just oh yeah
all muscle good muscle it's like yeah I
mean I'm trying to think of like it's
like a I don't know if it's a toxic
muscle but it's just like you just need
to reshape you know what I mean like
yeah maybe it's uh the muscle thing is a
little confusing for people but you need
to let certain muscles atrophy before
you can build up new thinking muscles
that's how shifting your culture works
it's a a just like oh I'm from yeah I'm
from here and then I go to like abundant
country and then all a sudden boom you
just switch it's just not like that and
then point number four man I'm a big fan
of uh to be honest you know religion
spirituality some something more
ethereal I do think that that helps a
lot and uh I'm not going to get into
that too much but uh you know I was
raised uh in a church and it did help me
to to be honest to be free from some of
this stuff obviously you see it some
replicate itself too but it's like it's
all about relatability too you need
somebody relatability with with
relatability to you to to provide you um
opposite coaching because often times uh
in America it's not
that non scarcity mindset coaches is not
available it is Tony Robbins or like um
Damon John or whatever but it doesn't
mean necessarily you're going to relate
to it because you need somebody who's
come from where you come from and got
out of it versus somebody who never was
there to begin with right that's the
whole point of the messenger matters and
tone and relatability of story and blah
blah blah blah blah anyway and point
number five the Chinese mindset of uh
the Chinese version of a scarcity
mindset and the American version of a
scarcity mindset are often times quite
different because I noticed that people
in um poverty in America they tend to
spend more and people in poverty in in
China they may spend so little that
they're even hurting their ability to
earn more cash flow by investing in
themselves or something like that so
it's just uh it's almost like back to my
analogy of like often times bad Asian
drivers are too defensive and cautious
and being wimpy it's messing up the Flow
versus I think other groups sometimes
they they may get drunk and be so
reckless in the traffic they're being
too aggressive both are messing up the
flow of the schools of fish that need to
go through the
in the in the general Vibe but in
different ways one is being hyper
defensive one is being hyper offensive
anyway let's get into the comments
section guys like I said this is a crazy
video but hey man I'm just letting these
go off the top of my head the scarcity
mindset this is this is the first
section of comments the scarcity mindset
caused a lot of trauma in my life with
various stories I can't even read these
stories there's more on Reddit that are
five pages long basically it's people
saying that you know it did like you
know mess with them and somebody said
you know the scarcity mindset makes
people make uh my parents are mad at my
wife cuz she's overweight but scarcity
mindset also made her overweight yes and
no I don't want to overly blame it that
could be just nutrition education too
but yes I don't want to say that that's
not correlated at all I don't want to
take that away from anybody because they
would know better than me I don't know
anybody about anybody's life on the
internet and what causes them to tick
right I just know about my own life and
what I've seen and even when people
around me that I've seen and I can make
a guess but I don't really know
sometimes you don't even know for
yourself uh Point number two the second
one someone said it's embarrassing
infuriating what I have to watch my
people do this is back to the ABC CBC
when whether ABC refers to American Born
Chinese or Australian Born Chinese CBC
was that BBC even British Born Chinese I
know that's crazy because BBC BBC BBC
anyway um but I'm saying it's like yeah
man to me I'm like I'm over it I'm just
like I don't even like I know we come
from a big culture where the richest
people in the world some of the richest
people in America are Chinese some of
the poorest people in America are
Chinese and in New York City it's like
Chinese own a lot of the billion um
hundred million dollar apartments on
like a Park Avenue and they're also
Chinese persons picking up cans on the
street to recycle for a nickel each you
know what I mean and and and even
ripping open bags of trash to get that
nickel too so it's like to me I think a
lot of people they might not be raising
is in a situation to um to understand
that like the do the the the the
Spectrum range that I've seen so to the
point now I'm almost like just jaded
this person said I live in Vancouver I
think it's a white guy I live in
Vancouver and I was uh surrounded by
older Chinese ladies I stand back so I
won't get trampled but then um I also
don't want to fight with a person over a
10-cent deposit because they're always
asking me if I'm done with my drink but
then more often than not young Asians
will offer me the seat I am a older I
believe this is an older white person he
says age matters age matters immigration
wave matters socioeconomic status
matters Province even that you come from
potentially matters level of Shame
matters buying in or not buying into
some larger societal like eyeball of
like Behavior normative Behavior matters
so yeah but yeah of course there's
patterns that you see so it's like
that's my whole thing is like my only
thing about this is like a lot of people
they just blanket all try you can't
blanket 1.4 billion people but I
understand why they do too because maybe
you're just not seeing enough or you're
just only seeing the internet things but
it is what it is I can't you know I
could just tell CH these people or like
ABCs how to deal with it we can't change
how people process things that they see
on the internet or like viral videos or
blah blah blah anyway Point number three
someone said it just beets more and more
like a Snowball Effect it's called The
Tragedy of the commons this is actually
uh I just pop this up right here it has
to do with like overfishing air
pollution climate change how everybody
acts out of self-interest somebody said
in Hong Kong that's why they called
mainlanders locusts
um man it's like I said yes there is
tensions between overseas diaspora
communities for sure some TI Chinese
don't like the new Mainland Chinese com
in but some do business with them and
make a lot of money with them they're so
like man it's so complicated to be
Chinese because there's so much Chinese
blood in Southeast Asia and it's been
here for hundreds of years and then it's
all in these different countries uh you
know what I mean Taiwan and Hong Kong
and Singapore and like parts of Malaysia
Pang is like almost completely chines
and it's like you know what I mean it's
like dude get so complicated but yes of
course like the more well behaved people
are going to judge the people who are
less well behaved on a probability basis
that's just a fact I agree with that
somebody said please don't 100%
generalize even though there's some
truth to this stereotype so of course
people are arguing back and forth
arguing back and forth and um like I
said to me what I've come to the
conclusion of is like if whether you own
that Mainland Chinese Identity or not
I'm half you know whatever I could own
it or not own it or I don't care do I
care do I just identify somebody from
Seattle New York or LA or whatever it is
or whatever cultures I affluency been
but it's like I would say this it's
really more about how you deal with it
because you can actually not tell
anybody else to like you're not getting
the stats right out of a 100 it's only
60 out of 100 it's not 80 or 90 out of
100 you're just like cannot it just
doesn't work you can understand the way
people's minds work but you cannot
actually go into their machinery and
like Tinker with it and go yeah give us
more Nuance because you like us more
because people have vested interest in
not liking you so they're going to give
you less Nuance so even if only 45 out
of 100 Chinese people which is already
still a sizable pie chart if you look at
pie charts the way they're split amongst
different different Graphics but they
even if they assess it at 90 and they
give it a 2X because they want to have a
negative connotation what can you do
right anyway moving on somebody said
it's like getting bullied in developing
High aggression forever um it's like
being a bullied victim becoming a state
of hyper sensitivity and high aggression
and Never Letting Go of that rage and
somebody said no it's just bad habits
it's not even bullied I mean dude it's
all like I said like everything is
caused by something whether or not
people want to look into the reasons of
something there's always reasons and
layers and layers of a onion but like
you know what I mean it just you people
only tend to peel back the hyper layers
of a onion and try to understand
somebody who did something bad when they
like or agree with them like Luigi
mangion everybody's trying to everybody
empathizes with him you me or like a lot
of people on the internet do and you
know was the right and the wrong and
that of what obviously what he did
anyway moving on somebody said my
Australian Chinese parents there are
fobs from China obviously are mad that I
didn't grow up to make 400k a year in
NYC like my family friend even though I
got a PhD and work a government job in
Australia she flies first class and I
never do and my parents can't believe
that I don't even consider uh compare
myself to her for a moment yeah like I
said some stereotypes of people are more
true than others like um but it's like
it's not true for everybody but
everybody knows somebody that it's true
for so how do you assess quantitatively
how true a stereotype is I would say
that thing of comparison like my parents
would Pro my dad would value the fact
that he has a PHD but I could see you
know some people at my church that were
very business-minded and not as academic
minded value in the 400k in the first
class more so so I see it both ways cuz
I see enough reps um somebody said but
but but to be fair that anecdote that
she just said is like maybe more
standout like that's more like a like a
of course everybody every Community is
gonna have a variance of opinion but
maybe the more standout one would be the
more money Centric one maybe but I don't
know it really depends if you come from
scholar class too in in a dynastic
Imperial uh Redux anyway uh there's
nothing we can do to change them
fundamentally but just change ourselves
this is a comment from a genz Chinese
person who was just like yeah whether my
uncles or aunties is like that we can
just learn it and change ourselves yeah
honestly I just operate within it at
this point like I I'm lucky enough that
I feel like not everybody in my family
is really like I'm not saying at a zero
out of 10 but like whatever the scarcity
mindset is probably nobody in my family
and I'm trying to think of the most is
most like this I probably have some
family members extended if we extended
out to the second ring that is like a
five out of 10 you know what I mean but
uh obviously at my church I saw people
who were eight nine 10 out of 10 but I
also saw people that were so
sufficiently westernized through uh Hong
Kong or something like that that was
like a two out of 10 maybe even a one
out of usually it's above a zero but
though let's keep it real anyway still
Chinese in a way Hey listen guys don't
take that the moment anyway um why are
other even poor countries not like this
and then this sort of spiral in the
Chinese are evil etc etc some form of
like Chinese are just inherently evil or
greedy that's always been that way
throughout history I mean I just think
that they're the most like traditional
like a lot of traditional Asiatic like
Oriental Concepts or just culture came
from China to be honest and I'm not even
saying that's like good or bad it just
is right and I just think that sometimes
when you created something you like just
mix it with the modern and it just
doesn't like it's harder to let go of it
than other groups where smaller groups
like their surviv is more dependent on
adaptation but when you're a big group
there's like a less ability to adapt or
the adaptation takes a like maybe a one
generation more a whole rotation
Generations like 20 years and I think
that that's just something like I said
it has to be like all these comments you
know from wherever they are from East
Asia southeast Asia dipor Chinese saying
it about Mainland Chinese or even
Mainland Chinese who left saying it
about whatever whatever from Western
people like I said man it's like it's
just something that is going to be that
way for the rest of my life so I don't
really even like like think about it in
the way that somebody who hasn't thought
a lot about it would think about it I'm
just like past my arc of thinking about
it to be honest and it's just like um
this next one says uh you know it there
must be more to it yeah Etc all right so
this is one this is a good comment
somebody said in just my observation in
the Philippines the people develop the
opposite of the scarcity mindset which
is the peda mindset which is just
because they have enough to survive they
don't do things to improve their lives
long term they stay lazy stagnant and
uneducated they always promote it in the
churches that be contented on what you
have and people takeing it as an excuse
to be lazy so I guess like that's the
reverse of it like I guess like like we
said it's almost like um somebody who's
so defensive in basketball other people
shooting the ball in like 3 seconds with
like 21 seconds left on the shot clock
there's pros and cons to every mindset
right everybody wants to be like the
Boston Celtics where it's such a
balanced attack they could go fast they
could go slow they could go half court
they could go out lit but it's like not
everybody has the Personnel or the
coaching or the franchise or the players
or the like everything is like
everything Everything is Everything
related so yeah like we said there's
always pros and cons to everything like
this person from the Philippines is
basically like saying well but at least
the Chinese they try to make their life
better but yes they're probably a little
bit greedy and maybe a little bit
selfish and at least in our terms so
it's just like pros and cons man life
life is like that man it's like there's
a lot more gray area than people have
somebody say this mentality is even
worse I hate that if I can't have it you
can't have mentality and then someone
posted this Kevin changen it's not
enough that I should succeed others
should fail and then someone said yo man
it takes an elite mindset to wake up and
immediately start hating that's
hilarious by the way that quote was
actually originally attributed to genas
Khan I do not think genas Khan actually
said that it just like fits with how
history played out or as Nar you know
like The Narrative of history but like I
don't think genas KH was much of a
philosopher I think you know he had
tangry and he played to pre to the sky
and he just felt something um somebody
said I don't enjoy spending time around
people who are so scarcity minded about
everything so I don't like hanging out
sometimes with my Chinese family or my
Chinese friends I heard this a lot and
um like I said bro everybody comes from
a different type of Chinese family even
that is Chinese like I said on a scale
of 0 to 10 you're probably at least a
one on the scarcity mindset because it
is such a cultural thing right and it
bleeds over even into diaspora
communities or overseas Chinese City
countries or whatever and it's like um
uh I I feel bad for the people who got
it at a six and up I think at a five and
below you know it just like depends on
how far you give how strong your jet
boosters are away from the tractor beam
but if you're at a 6 seven eight or
nine and um you you you probably at
least got half so like if your mom was a
nine you probably at least going to be a
4.5 at the at the very base minimum
because of that uh analogy the doesn't
roll too far from the tree it is what it
is man I seen it in the Chinese I
operated in the Chinese Community a lot
obviously I did a lot of Western brand
deals with just you know white people
marketing middleman agencies too though
but anyway moving on uh somebody said uh
what about the Chinese who spend
obscenely just like Middle Eastern
people that what about that group that
is hyper flashy that doesn't care about
money at all obviously that is probably
referring to the Remy Z or the Chinese
Rich international student stere type
that you see Bobby suputra doing that
playing off that crazy Rich Asians
archetype like you know almost like
billionaire flashy wasteful billionaire
mentality yeah I mean that's just not
what this video is talking about but
absolutely that archetype exists too but
it's like you would have to say people
people pay attention to that tribe a lot
but that tribe doesn't make up more than
1% right but it's just 1% of a very
large population just seems like a lot
too when you have 1.4 billion people 1%
almost makes International School Kids
feel like almost their own City or
something like that like I said has to
do with like uh economies of scale
anyway um somebody said it's the very
whack behaviors that are KES is
referring to get passed down due to
philiopiety because philal piety makes
you feel like you need to pass on what
your parents taught you so yeah this guy
went into a whole uh dissertation about
it um yeah yeah fop piy I would say that
the biggest issue that I see with some
asian-americans and like I said some
people are able to do it some people
need to take I don't even know you know
what I mean they need to completely
rewire their brain but other people it's
just like a gradual process to break
down the old muscles and build up new
muscles but it it depends it's a
consistent everyday thing and it also
really depends on how much you think it
impacts your life and um what image you
want to put forth and how you see
yourself what you look at in the mirror
what you see as your aspirational
identity moving forward right some
people they don't they don't feel like
some people inherited a scarcity mindset
from their parents and they don't even
feel like it's an issue right but then
you could say that's not cool but it
really just depends on like how cool do
you want to be who do you want to Define
that cross reference that group with so
anyway um somebody this is the last
point and I sort of get into this as
about to take away it's like this is why
I never reveal I am Chinese because I am
ashamed of this identity and you know
there's two ways to do it listen guys I
saw I dated a girl from chandu who was
like this she was from a more upper
middle class light Rich family
in China went to Art School here in the
US was working and she did look I guess
look Korean so she was like you know
when she went to the Korean restaurant
she was always speaking Korean and stuff
like that and she was like if they never
know that I'm Chinese I'm okay with that
and uh I always like felt some slight
type of way about it but obviously I
understood too which is the what all
these negative stereotypes that we've
been talking about but I always uh I
said I disagree with that but but I've
seen it a lot I've seen a lot of
especially girls they more want to fit
into society what's cool cool was swaggy
was not unappealing was not too cheap or
not messing up the Flow by being too
awkward or cautious or cheap or overly
cheap to just constrict just like the
flow of everything right um like I said
it's it's everybody is sensitive to
these downside negative stereotypes of
any group at different points right like
you see every I don't even want to you
know I can't even say but like you see a
lot of people right now address the
stereotypes of their group and um
obviously anybody who's honest has to
say that there's some baseline
acknowledgement that the stereotypes
came from somewhere right I you guys
tell me what you think it is saying
stereotypes are earned not given you
tell me I don't
know um but anyway let's just get into
my final
takeaways I I really thought it was
summed up in this comment saying this
guy said Chinese people are the worst
people I've ever met which I think is
actually a really crazy statement but I
can see why people would say that
because it's like it's the group that
you can say that about and get away with
it and still like nobody's really like
you're not going to lose your job over
it and then somebody said uh the best
person I met was Chinese the worst
person I met was also Chinese the
population was so large that there are
all kinds of people and I think that
that's really the real truth behind it
but yeah in terms of the cheap sort of
like grabbing the Costco chicken
stereotype in China that's real you know
what I mean um I do think it was
overplayed you know by some of the
jokesters and things like that like
talking about it but I'm not going to
deny that there's not truth to what they
said or truthiness is the you know
stepen coar way of saying it and that's
why it's so important I don't want to
plug my thing too hard but it's like you
that's why it's so important for the for
for Asian
males you know you don't have to sign up
for my program in the email uh form
Google form below but you got to
reprogram you got to break down the old
atropy muscles if you feel like that's
sort of like some programming that was
given to you and then you got to build
up the new muscles and you got to change
it and I think a lot of it is relating
to other races like I can relate to
other races and I can learn from that
but if you have to learn from somebody
who looks like you who went through the
same things you might not get all the
reverse coaching you need to like coach
away from like scarcity mindset or even
if you go oh I like my scarcity mindset
causes me to be frugal yeah well don't
lose the frugality or the value
Consciousness but don't be so cheap that
it's offputting right like there's such
like a push and pull and it's very like
holding the dove right like you you you
let the dove go or you hold it too tight
and then the dove dies and you're
suffocating it now right it's hard to
know where the right push and pull like
equilibrium main zone is and um man at
the end of the day like I said
stereotypes do come from somewhere but
all we can do is understand where they
come from and that's what KES is I guess
helping everybody do we can accept the
criticism and a lot of the criticism
sometimes it is emotionally tinged and
it's not fair or it's like you know they
they they they they they they take a
foot of CR legit criticism and turn it
into a 10 feet of criticism it is what
it is like because all I can do is just
try to change it and I would never
really like deny being Chinese I would
more rather like try to make it cooler
by putting forth a likable cool image
but at the same time I'm not going to be
I have some Chinese friends like I said
like my ex or like I'm not even going to
name him who are high up in the industry
that is almost obsessed with trying to
go against this like cheap uncool
Chinese stereotype um that you know what
I mean so I I don't want to make my life
obsessed with it either way but uh you
you it does take a lot of time to arrive
to this point so anyway sign up you know
at the Google form below for Tiger Club
it's going to be a lot of addressing
these topics let me know what you think
watch K's video watch all 20 minutes let
me know what you think in the comment
section below what you think of my
comments I think that it's really
important what CL I'm not saying I even
fully agree with everything he said or
how he said it but just I think it's
important he's doing what he's doing
because I always noticed that Chinese
Americans and Anglo countries were
always like had the most disarray and
just the least United narrative and I
guess that's understandable when you
look at the history to his to the point
of his video let me know what you guys
think in the comments section below
until next time hop hop boys live from
Bok I'm out peace
