Everywhere you turn right now, Zillow has their opinion on what's going to happen in 2025. Redfin, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, in addition to thousands of real estate agents telling you exactly what to expect for the housing market 2025. Here are our bold housing market 2025 predictions. Number one is all the housing market predictions for 2025 will be wrong. And I'm sure you remember all those videos at the end of 2021 that were predicting the massive over double interest rate increase we had through 2022. Yeah, that's right. Nobody predicted that would happen. Now, it doesn't necessarily mean that people get it dramatically wrong. Look, mortgage interest rates are either going to go up, go down, or stay the same. And you can say the same thing about house values. You can say the same thing about rent. Some may get some of the pieces right. As we've seen in at least the past five years, you really couldn't have guessed where the year was headed when it started out. Nobody knew what was going to happen with COVID. Nobody saw what was going to happen with home values. Nobody saw what was going to happen with interest rates on moving up that quickly. We thought we knew that things would trend in a general direction, but nobody knew exactly where it would go and how fast it would go. Bear that in mind with the 2025 housing market predictions you're seeing out there. Nobody knows for sure. Like William Goldman said, nobody knows anything. Prediction number two, it will be scary to buy in 2025. Not because we feel like there's any particularly negative thing happening with the real estate market, because it always is. I've helped hundreds of people buy and sell real estate. Every buyer will say, is the timing right? Am I buying at the top of the market? I bought a home in July of 2021, and it was scary then. We didn't know for sure what was going to happen to the market. Buyers are always worried that they're buying at the wrong time. The economy could tank. The values of homes could drop. At the end of the day, we can't predict what's going to happen in a given year to real estate values, mortgage interest rates. But when you're ready to jump in, jump in with both feet, knowing it will be scary no matter what. Number three prediction, it will be scary to sell real estate in 2025. Not because we expect any sort of market crash or anything crazy to happen, though it could. It's always scary to sell real estate, no matter how long you've been doing it and how many deals you've done. I'm selling my own home right now, and I'm wondering these things. Is the timing right? Am I leaving money on the table? Where will I go next? Those are important questions that make it difficult to sell at any point in time. 2025 is not going to be a particularly scary year as of right now. Who knows? But in general, it is always going to be scary to sell.
