Arcangelo Corelli's 12 concerti grossi were published by Estienne Roger of Amsterdam in 1714 as opus 6. The musician dedicated the work to Duke Johann Wilhelm von der Pfalz.
The twelve concertos are divided into church concertos (I-VIII) and chamber concertos (IX-XII).
Although published posthumously, they existed as early as 1709.
The concerts are divided into 4, 5 or even 6 movements; the chamber concerts use dances such as gavotte, sarabande, corrente, minuet, allemande and jig.
The orchestral ensemble consists of the concertino (2 violins and 1 concertante cello) and the grosso of the orchestra (filling violins, viola, cello and double bass). The basso continuo is formed by the harpsichord, to which the portative organ and lute can be added.
Corelli's 12 concerti are the masterful model for the concerto grosso form that would later inspire Georg Friedrich Händel, Francesco Geminiani, Antonio Vivaldi, Giovanni Battista Somis (Corelli's pupil) and others.
The disappearing fog was filmed by Christian Schlegel near the Brünig Pass in Switzerland and edited by Wenjing Ma.
