📸 Equipment (*Note that I value lightweight, compact and budget friendly options because of the type of travels I normally do)
iPhone 15 Pro Max - https://amzn.to/3SKEOPR I have moved over to the iPhone for most of the ground footage - it actually takes amazing videos and my phone is always close by.
DJI Mini 4 Pro - https://amzn.to/3W8MVI5 I absolutely love this drone - its small, compact and provides amazing footage.
GoPro - https://amzn.to/3W88ok9 I still use the GoPro for the ‘on the go’ shots. It has great stablization, battery life and quality.

After months of lockdown, stuck indoors, dreaming of open skies,
we were itching for an adventure. The moment the restrictions lifted, we grabbed our hiking boots,
called up some close friends and set out to explore Cape Town's magical trails.
The rain had been relentless, leaving the forest drenched and alive.
Perfect conditions for an epic hunt through waterfalls.
The stormy skies overhead and the promise of hidden gems in Cecilia Falls,
this hike was exactly what we needed.
The day started bright and early with Karin and I meeting up with our friends,
ready to escape into the forest.
The trail began gently, winding through the lush green canopy of Cecilia Forest.
It felt surreal, breathing the crisp fresh air,
reconnecting with friends and just being out in nature after many months cooped up.
Cape Town's trails aren't known for being easy, but this walk started off quite relaxed,
a rarity we were all happy to enjoy.
Of course we managed to get turned around a couple of times, but that only added to it.
The weather was cold and windy, with storm clouds hanging low, but it didn't bother us.
The forest was buzzing with hikers, but no one seemed in a rush.
As we climbed higher, the trail began to change. Smooth paths that gave way to rocky sections,
and soon we were hopping across streams, laughing as we carefully chose our steps.
The higher we climbed, the more Cape Town began to reveal its beauty.
Sunlight occasionally broke through the clouds,
illuminating patches of forest and teasing us with glimpses of breathtaking views.
Every corner of the trail seemed alive,
missed the air, towering trees and the sound of water somewhere in the distance.
Beautiful, gorgeous, wish you were here.
We're walking down into the jungle, trying to find this magnificent waterfall.
We've been hiking for many, many minutes, potentially an hour.
Hopefully, one day, over the next couple of days, we will find it.
We like to have it up in the road, crawl through the wild to discover this oasis.
We found it. We found the waterfall. Magnificent. Let's see how magnificent it is.
Then we reached our first waterfall. It wasn't massive, not ice in the stands by any stretch,
but it had its own charm. The way it tumbled over the rocks,
framed by the forest, made it feel magical.
We spent a little time taking it in, snapping photos and just appreciating the moment.
Into the jungle we go. We're in the mood for an adventure.
It looks like going down, but we're actually going to go up.
But we weren't done yet. Energized by our first find, we pushed on eager to discover more.
The sun started peeking through, warming us as we walked further,
crossing more streams and feeling closer to nature with every step.
We found the waterfall. There it is. Oh wait, it's not it. It's not it. It's not it.
Otherwise I would have been very disappointed. Okay, on we go. You can do it. You can do it.
High five. Bam. Okay, I'm going to try to climb and record at the same time.
This is difficult, but we do it because we can.
Soon we heard it. The faint but unmistakable roar of water nearby.
Climbing up a short steep section of trail, we found it.
Second waterfall tucked away and off the beaten path.
It felt like stumbling into a hidden oasis.
This one was special, quiet, serene and ours to enjoy.
We paused here for a while, soaking all in,
letting the sound of rushing water and the stillness of the forest fill the moment.
Eventually it was time to head back.
The trail led us across more streams and winding paths.
Our hunt for waterfalls has been successful.
One more to go. One more to go. Uno, dos, tres.
The search for waterfall continues. We found two out of three.
Will we find the main one, the third one that has evaded us for so long?
From 322 meters, apparently 100 meters are left.
Is this it? Is this the waterfall or is this just a river?
As the day began to wind down.
Tired but content, we made our way back to where we started, grateful for the adventure,
the views and the chance to share this incredible day with friends.
As we made our way back to the car, there was this quiet sense of fulfillment in the air.
It wasn't just the beauty of the trail, the waterfalls or the views,
it was the joy of sharing it all with friends after so long apart.
This hike reminded me of how much my soul craves moments like these,
surrounded by nature and moving through the world instead of watching it from a window.
One thing is certain, this won't be the last.
There are countless trails, hidden waterfalls and adventures waiting for us
and we can't wait to lace up our boots and chase them.
