Hiking and Camping at Kyrgyzstan FairyTale Canyon Skazka

► ABOUT THIS HIKE

The FairyTale Canyon Skazka at Krygystan sits at the southen part of Issyk-kul lake. This canyon is called 'Skazka' Canyon (Каньон “Сказка”), it means 'Fairy Tale Canyon' in Russian. It got its name because of the unique shapes in the red sandstone, formed by wind and water over centuries. You might see dragons, snakes, castles, or anything else your imagination creates.


How to get there from Karakol :
You need go to this bus station which is “South Bus Station” and take bus (Marshrutka) or taxi to Skakza.
It cost me 250Som (August 2024) It's robably one of the most isolated place I've explored.
