the world eagerly awaits flight 7's
launch but behind the scenes progress is
anything but idle at Star base and to
some extent in Florida efforts are
advancing rapidly from enhanced
production systems and fueling
infrastructure to Rocket testing
facility expansions and the new
protection system for Launchpad B every
element is moving full steam ahead how
are these developments shaping the
future of space exploration meanwhile
Falcon 9 continues to set records in
reliability and reuse and on Mars NASA's
Ingenuity helicopter embarks on a new
Mission proving its value as a
Trailblazer on the red planet stick
around as we'll explore all this and
More in today's episode of great SpaceX
activities at Starbase are reaching a
fever pitch as the year draws to a close
all in preparation for what promises to
be an explosive 2025 for the starship
project every corner of the facility is
buzzing with activity from construction
and testing to upgrades and expansions
laying the groundwork for what could be
a pivotal year in spacex's Journey to
make space travel more routine and
sustainable one of the most critical
projects nearing completion is Launchpad
B with a Target completion date early
next year work on this system has been
ramped up significantly the stacking of
the tower is complete and the basic
structure of the orbital launch Mount
has been built now attention has turned
to the installation of the flame trench
system a critical component designed to
handle the incredible thrust and heat of
a Starship launch recently the first
images of the flame trench system
surfaced showing it at the Sanchez site
what appears to be the first section
referred to as the the water cooled
flame deflector pipe including the new
water manifold and Flame bucket was
captured in photos this component has a
curved structure with six se shaped
beams and three vertical steel bars its
design Bears similarities to the flame
trench system tested earlier this year
at Massie the Dual flame trench design
featuring two buckets promises to double
the efficiency of the original system
the manifold is attached to the flame
bucket which will then probably be
connected to several other large pipe
systems to spray water during testing or
launching once ready the flame trench
components are expected to be
transported to the launch site for
installation beneath the new olm
assembly of remaining parts and
manifolds is likely to follow swiftly
meanwhile the tower itself still
requires the installation of the
Chopstick and quick disconnect systems
with a November 28th deadline looming
SpaceX has just over a month to finalize
these upgrades the flame trench's
Effectiveness has already been
demonstrated during tests at Massie but
adjustments will be necessary to handle
the much greater liftoff thrust of the
super heavy booster once complete the
system is expected to outperform the
water dagee system currently in use at
pad a bringing increased efficiency and
reliability the completion of pad B also
ties into another ambitious goal for
SpaceX which is catching both Starship
stages this plan targeted for early next
year aligns with the development
schedule of Launchpad B and signals a
major Leap Forward in spacex's quest to
reduce turnaround times and operational
costs beyond the Launchpad the tank farm
at the launch site is undergoing
significant upgrades over the past year
large vertical tanks have been replaced
with more reliable horizontal tanks
creating space for new installations
recent activity includes the arrival and
installation of multiple tanks on
December 9th a horizontal tank was moved
into the tank farm followed by the
addition of a liquid oxygen tank and a
methane tank on December 10th by the
11th the methane tank was in place and
another was installed the following day
most recently on December 13th the
second liquid oxygen tank was added
these upgrades are essential as SpaceX
plans to increase its flight frequency
dramatically in the coming years
starting with 25 flights next year
SpaceX aims to ramp up to an astonishing
400 flights within the next 4 years
translating to nearly a 100 flights per
year this increased demand combined with
the transition from Starship V1 to V2
and eventually to V3 will require
significantly larger fuel supplies Elon
Musk has already revealed that the fuel
capacity for each stage will increase by
hundreds of tons necessitating further
expansion of the tank farm to keep Pace
the upgrades aren't limited to the
launch site at the production site work
is accelerating on the stacking of
future flight Hardware attention is
focused on the flight 9 prototype which
includes booster 16 or B16 and and ship
35 or S35 the final ring of b16s methane
tank was recently moved into Mega Bay
while S35 complete with its nose cone
and payload has been transported to Star
Factory and is expected to head to Mega
Bay 2 for stacking soon in the meantime
flight 7's booster 14 remains in mega
Bay for post static fire inspections
while ship 33 is undergoing testing at
Massie the hardware for flight 8
including B15 and s34 is currently in
mega Bay and mega Bay 2 respectively
Massie continues to serve as a hub for
testing most recently hosting s33 while
there haven't been significant changes
to the site itself its role in ensuring
the Readiness of Starship Hardware
remains crucial in Florida progress at
lc-39a has been steady with the old olm
dismantled and plans underway for a new
design possibly modeled after star bases
pad B meanwhile significant development
are unfolding at Robert's Road a newly
revealed project Hinton outlines plans
for a high volume production facility
High B and related infrastructure the
northern expansion of Roberts Road could
establish a Starship Hub even larger
than Starbase supporting manufacturing
testing and launches for the Starship
Florida project and spacex's ambitious
flight Cadence goals NASA has also
opened High Bay one of the Vehicle
Assembly Building to private companies
for Rocket operation ations creating
another opportunity for SpaceX to
enhance its Florida operations these
advancements signal the Starship

SpaceX continues to shatter records and
break new ground in the world of space
exploration most Rec recently their work
in California marked yet another
Milestone showcasing the company's
unrelenting momentum on December 13th at
4:55 p.m. Eastern a falcon9 rocket
launched from SLC 4E in California
carrying 22 Starling satellites into
orbit this mission was yet another
Testament to spacex's incredible
reliability and Innovation the booster
b1082 landed on the of course I still
love you drone ship achieving its ninth
successful Landing more significantly
this touchdown marked the Falcon 99's
100th drone ship Landing in 2024 this
incredible Milestone sets SpaceX apart
from every other Aerospace company no
other rocket system in the world has
achieved 100 launches in a year let
alone with the Precision and consistency
demonstrated by Falcon 9 the Drone ship
system plays a critical role in this
success enabling SpaceX to recover
boosters from missions that wouldn't
allow for a return to a landing pad this
accomplished also reflects the
scalability of spacex's infrastructure
the Drone ship system itself has been
enhanced over time most recently with
the addition of a water Deluge system to
the east coast Fleet this upgrade
ensures the system can handle the
demands of increased flight frequencies
in the future supporting spacex's vision
for Rapid reusable space flight speaking
of flights the December 13th launch
represented another major milestone for
Falcon 9 on X SpaceX announced Falcon 9
lifts off from pad 4 e in California
completing our
125th mission of 2024 while the company
originally aimed for 148 launches this
year reaching 125 missions is still an
extraordinary achievement with half a
month remaining in 2024 SpaceX May yet
push this record even higher further
solidifying Falcon D's Legacy as the
Workhorse of modern space exploration
but it's not just about numbers spacex's
achievements this year underline the
impact of their reusable rocket
technology a a GameChanger in reducing
costs and increasing access to space
it's clear that SpaceX is not only
outpacing competitors but it's also
setting the pace for the entire
Aerospace industry at the same time
there is exciting news from Mars NASA's
Ingenuity helicopter which originally
accompanied the perseverance Rover as a
technology demonstration is now entering
a new chapter of its mission on December
11th during the 2024 annual meeting of
the American geophysical Union or agu
scientists from NASA's jet propulsion
laboratory shared an unexpected update
Teddy zenos Ingenuity project manager at
JPL announced we are very proud to
system uh to detect the uh the damage um
but we are very proud to report that
even after the hard Landing in flight 72
um avionics battery sensors uh have all
been functional and she still has one
final gift for us which is that she's
now going to continue on uh as a weather
station of sorts uh recording Telemetry
taking images every single soul and
storing them on board Ingenuity Mission
has far surpassed expectations initially
designed for five flights in 2021 the
helicopter has completed 72 flights over
3 years providing critical data on the
Martian surface and atmosphere although
a hard Landing back in January of 2024
damaged its blades and grounded it the
rest of the system remains operational
Ingenuity now serves as a stationary
weather station recording Telemetry and
capturing images its future usefulness
depends on solving communication
challenges possibly with help from NASA
or SpaceX with starship's rapid
development musk's vision of crude Mars
missions grows increasingly achievable
such missions could recover or upgrade
Ingenuity adding to its Legacy Ingenuity
embodies the resilience of human
exploration proving that even small
tools can make elastic impact as SpaceX
pushes Humanity closer to Mars
