Report:

On December 4, 2024, while on patrol, I was informed by dispatch that Sebastian County deputies were in pursuit of a vehicle
in Fort Smith, specifically around the 2900 block of Grand Avenue. Upon my arrival in the area, I caught up to the pursuit at the
intersection of North O Street and North Greenwood Avenue, where I took over as the primary unit, traveling south. As the
suspect vehicle and I passed through a green light at the intersection of North Greenwood Avenue and Grand Avenue, I
noticed a break in traffic. I performed a tactical vehicle intervention, which caused the suspect vehicle to collide with a concrete
barrier and an electrical control box, ultimately disabling it at the location of North Greenwood Avenue and Kinkead Avenue.
The driver then quickly exited the vehicle, surrendered, and was taken into custody. The driver was identified as Yardley Leonard.

Leonard was transported to Baptist Hospital upon his request but was released shortly after and was ultimately transported to
SCADC without further incident.
Leonard was charged with:

5-54-125(d)(3) 2023: FLEEING - FELONY - VEHICLE OR CONVEYANCE - SUBSTANTIAL DANGER OF DEATH
16-93-705: PAROLE REVOCATION
5-54-131: ABSCONDING
5-54-120(b) (2015): FAIL TO APPEAR ON FELONY (FTA)
5-54-120(c)(1) (2011): FAIL TO APPEAR ON CLASS A MISDEMEANOR (FTA)
5-38-203(b)(3): CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 1ST DEGREE (DAMAGE $5,000 - $25,000)
