HIGHLIGHTS | Valencia CF vs. FC Barcelona (Liga F 2024-25 Matchday 13)

There is a very, very strong likelihood that Barcelona will run over the top of Valencia today. If looking at the form guide and the squad lists, it seems a bit daft to suggest anything otherwise, but you never know. Reached by Martí and Brown stays on her feet, oh and fired over by Marina Martí. Oh Valencia, how many more opportunities will they get like that? And perhaps Gemma Font and her club are off the hook that Fenicia Brown chose not to take the hits from the goalkeeper. The deflection will be easy for Gemma Font, just her third appearance of the season. Even when she plays a stray pass, she can make a one-two and she loses out second time of asking and Brown tries to take this in her path. Oh that's loose and Gemma Font has to scurry to get there ahead of Alguacil. Will chase this, has she got any help at all? It's a lovely shift, oh and it's not far away. Valencia have a bit about them on the counter here, that's twice they've caused unrest in the Barca ranks, the pace and the power of Brown and the explosive strike. Flipped on wonderfully by Kikan Azarith for Bonmati, here's Vicky López. Barca snuffed out again, they're being made to work for this. Hanging for López and for Bonmati, Pena's shot and it fizzes wide. Bonmati sort of poking it towards goal. Kikan Azarith supposed to be playing up front, or should they be all the way back there? Here's Vicky López, lovely clip through for Yana Fernández Wonderfully stopped. Canales finally forced to spring into action, an unusually quiet first half against Barcelona for any goalkeeper. Can they keep the champions out before the halftime whistle? Leon to deliver and blazed, big chance. Pena reflects. Vicky López, there's one step ahead, here's Eva Piyot, likewise a heavy touch. López down and it's the opportunity Barcelona have needed. They've struggled to break Valencia down in open play. Vicky López is sparked, draws the fill. Young Canales in goal with the chance to make the home fans roar. Rolfo wants to silence them. It's an inch perfect penalty. Barcelona haven't been at their best, stuttering and stumbling their way into Valencia's third time after time. But from 12 yards, Fridolina Rolfo will not miss. Very short strikes, a tricky harrow. Great ball, great clearance from Canales who has taken a hit here. Kika Nazareth is also catching her breath. That looks pretty serious for Antonio Canales. Bruch, it's a lovely ball dropped in behind and Canales smothers on a battle. In behind, taken down well by Mascarell. She's looked lively. Are Valencia capable? Oh, there's the answer. Kika Nazareth, the harrow again. Piyot in unusually quiet today. She's on a hot streak as well. Hard work, that's for Barcelona. The goal that settled it, put on a plate for them. But it comes as no surprise that they leave the Mestalla with all three points. Disappointment at the end for Valencia who were superb in their shape and open play. Restricted Barca to half chances here and there. Wasted a few of their own but remain rooted at the bottom. Rolfo giving MVP, the easy choice I would suggest, given she scored the winning goal in a game in which Barcelona didn't click. It's job done for Piri Rameu. They've stretched their leads at the top of the table again.
