"I WON'T BE SILENCED!!" PETER FURY RESPONDS! MARSHALL SPLIT RUMOUR,CHISORA,NELSON/ OLYMPIC CEREMONY

INCREDIBLE BOXING
40 followers
Aki Karima for BoxingNow, formerly known as BBTV. I'm joined by Peter Fury. Thanks for
making some time, Peter. In a minute, by the way, it's going to go like this, just so you
know. It's going to go like that, so don't get confused. It's just because no one wants
to see my mug on there. But yeah, we're going to have a little catch-up about everything
that's gone on boxing-wise and MMA-wise in the weekend, and a few other bits and bobs.
So firstly, Peter, I'm going to ask you about Joyce and Chizora at the weekend, last night.
Going into the fight, a lot of people felt like Joyce would have the edge, be too big,
you know. He's at that point where he's the prospect and Chizora's kind of been on the road.
Were you surprised by the outcome?
Listen, I've got respect for both of them fighters. They're both very nice people.
As putting a boxing hat on, I don't know what's happened to Joe, I think, since he's lost to
Zhang. We're seeing a different following there altogether.
It is what it is. Let's not pick anything else out of it. It was an entertaining fight where
both are at the stages of their careers. So at the latter end of their careers,
they need maximum credit. If they put it on the line, then it was entertaining.
I mean, going into it, Peter, a lot of people were saying, well, does a division really need
this fight, etc.? But everyone tuned in because we knew it was going to be entertaining and it
didn't disappoint, actually. They both stood there and they both swung in chops at each other. So
it was good. It was entertainment, for sure. You can't knock it when it's entertaining.
Plus, he gives it his all, Derek, every time. So you've got to give the man maximum credit
for the heart he shows. He's not a quitter, that's for sure. He tries,
he's up most best. So you've got to give him max respect for that. And big Joe as well.
It was a good entertaining fight. I was on the edge of my seat watching it anyway.
Yeah, and you know what? Just when Cesaro looked out on his feet, he landed that little short
right hand off the ropes. It reminded me of when Yui stopped Sexton, actually. A little short shot,
and he flawed Joyce, the big man. I mean, I was jumping up when I seen that.
It's boxing, you know, you can flail away all day long and then one punch connects and that's it.
You've only got the big men, aren't they? So one of them shots connects properly and that's the
result. But he got up and yeah, like I say, it was entertaining. So it was good. It was a good
evening of boxing. I was very impressed with McCann. Dennis McCann and him and his team got
the job done right. You can see the dedication he's put in. And that was a tough fight as well
and he made it. I liked the way he was in the pocket. He was catching the shots and responding.
You know, it was a brilliant performance from him. So I think him and his team, you know,
done a magnificent job. You know, it showed with night and day from his last fight with him.
And he's really come on in his physique. He looked very good. So I definitely predict big
things for McCann in the future. Yeah, because his opponent Balut is obviously a tough guy.
We all know that. We've seen him in the British ring before giving everyone fits. And Dennis
McCann, he seems to be maturing a lot as well. He's always had the skill, but he seems to be
maturing a lot as a fighter, doesn't he? Yeah, definitely. You couldn't fault his performance.
I thought his performance was perfect. He never put a foot wrong. His jab was working perfect.
He wasn't falling short with any of his shots. He was stepping back as well, giving himself a bit
of space, landing, you know, catching them hooks as well and responding on the inside.
It was a pleasure to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed it. What do you make of this young Moses Atoma?
Because he's doing good things, especially against Wack, who obviously you know well.
Yeah, definitely. Listen, he's so far so good for him. I think he's a phenomenal young heavyweight.
I've had him in the gym. I've seen him up close. He's a good fight kid.
Let's see how long he can continue while he's doing big things. It's shocking to think he can
do what he can do at 19 years of age. Big future for him, for sure. Just going back very briefly
to Chisora and Joyce, Peter. Obviously, the discussion straight afterwards was about where
careers go from now. We'll start off with Joyce. Obviously, he's a tough man and he's still a
massive heavyweight and everything. What would you be advising him to
have a look at the career now or do you think he can carry on?
Well, there's a big downside, isn't there, from the times before he got beat with Zank.
Looking at night and day and inability of what he was and what he is today.
That's clear for everybody to see. You want to go to look when he boxed Parker,
the performance he was putting on and early on in his career. I think maybe them two fights
took a hell of a lot out of him. Who knows? He's had to come back from them two devastating defeats.
Maybe that confidence of going forward, that invincibility, your second thoughts with it.
It could be. Listen, it's a hard game in there. You're taking shots. You're getting it right here.
This is it. We just don't know. I wish him all the best whatever he decides to do in the future.
There's a lot of shots being taken. The thing is, you need to look at his health because he's a nice
big fellow, Joe. He's clever as well. He's a career outside of boxing. He's an artist as well.
He's got a good life, good family. I'm sure they'll have a look and consider what's doing
for him. Ultimately, that's a call for Big Joe. He's a big, strong heavyweight. He's a nightmare,
isn't he? They've got to consider what's best for them and best for his health in the future.
Keeps going on and on. A lot of people were saying before the fight, he's got to win or he's got to
retire, but he was having none of it. He's won. Can he get in line for another big shot? Could
it be the Rocky story, Peter? What do you think? The same for Big Joe, isn't it? There's been times
when Derek Storer and people said, oh, this guy needs to pack it up, but he keeps going. If there's
interest out there and they want to box and they get paid to do it, then who are we to say they're
not to do it? They all have an opinion, but they're the fighters and they do what they want to do.
But the main thing is, they both give good entertainment last night. It was very entertaining
and it was assault wrestling. One more can you ask for? Are either of these potential
opponents for Hughie down the line or at this stage, do you think? We're just going to crack
on with Hughie. He's boxing on the 27th of September and he'll be out again
October, November, so that's what we're looking at for Hughie. He'll be making some big moves this year.
Okay, fair enough. Fair enough, Peter. The other thing, well, there's a couple of other things I
wanted to ask you about Tom Aspinall. Obviously, someone who you know very well, Tom and Andy
Aspinall, two top guys flying the flag in Manchester for this UFC. Another knockout,
and people are talking about him as being the number one dog in the heavyweight division.
I think he is. He's a phenomenal talent. Him and his father,
if nobody deserves this success more than they do. His dad's a proper old school fella,
serious about his game, he's passionate, he loves his training, he puts everything into the fighters,
what a reward. It's his son as well. I know the family very, very well, obviously, so
it's fabulous. Tom, he's reaching his potential that we all knew was there anyway,
because you've only got to look at him, the build of him, the speed of him, the way he moves,
the power he delivers his shots, the speed of it. For a heavyweight, he's a gifted athlete.
He deserves all of his success. I take him to reign at the top of that MMA for a long time.
I'm over the moon for Tom, but I'm definitely over the moon for his dad as well.
Having to use his skills in MMA, which obviously we all know he's brilliant,
but is that nice for you to see, the fact that he's using the boxing as well?
Yeah, he's learnt his trade well. Him and his father, they've been dedicated for years,
side by side, doing it, honing his skills up. I've got a lot of respect for Andy,
he's a very shrewd operator. He knows his fight game as good as anybody.
Him and his son, they've been dedicated for years. I think he's been wrestling with his father
probably at six years of age, similar to myself and Yui. He's doing to get the rewards, and also
with his fight as well. We know he had the injury last time where he put a kick up and his leg broke
or whatever it was. It was a nice bit of justice to get the rematch and end it in such a devastating
fashion. Make no mistake, Tom, I know he's very good with his hands and he can box, but he's
probably even better on the floor. It's an amazing journey for young Tom Aspinall, and I couldn't be
more pleased for Tom. People are talking about this unification of the decider with John Jones.
If I've got any of this wrong, UFC fans, I apologise. This man who's supposed to be
a legend in the game, do you think Tom can square up and actually do this and take him on? Because
a lot of people are talking, saying maybe they think he can now. Definitely. He's a young man
on the block, so he's totally dedicated. He's a world-level operator, and he proved that last
night again. He's doing these in serious fashion in quick time. It just goes to show where he's
talented. I'm excited. I think he will reign, and I think we can never predict fights or how they're
going to end. Anything can happen, but I do predict Tom doing big, big things in the sport.
Yeah, brilliant. Well, congratulations to the Aspinall family there. Peter, whilst we're on
that actually, because Savannah's been training with them, and she trained with them to do the
MMA performance, where she was very excited herself in that PFL, or I think I've got that
right, Premier League. Well, I think it's called PFL, the Europe League. There was some speculation,
because obviously you've done that interview with Carl Froch, and at the beginning he mentioned
about Savannah amically partying with you or something like that, and it was a bit ambiguous,
because people were messaging afterwards saying, has Savannah left Peter and all that,
and obviously we had a brief chat about it. Do you want to clear that up for everyone
who's been asking? Well, Carl just asked me before the interview, he said, what's Savannah
doing these days? I said, she's doing MMA, I said, with Andy Aspinall, and he just took
him on board to just come out with that himself, so I never got a chance to answer it. But no,
me and Savannah's, we're absolutely cool together. There's no problem at all. I wish her all the best.
Andy's a very good friend of mine, so I'm absolutely over the moon with the move there.
She wants to do it, so I'm not an MMA person. No point. What am I going to do? So it's a
dedicated sport, they know what they're doing, Savannah loves it, and I'm happy for her to do
it, so I've got no issues with her doing that, Andy Aspinall, and no, so we haven't fell out,
there's no issues. Well, not as far as I'm aware, there's no issues. I don't know of any, anyway.
So, but no, it's not correct that we've partied ways at the moment. Not on my side anyway,
certainly not. I just wanted to clear it up, because a few people have messaged, well quite
a few people actually, after seeing that, and so assuming that when she does the boxing camp,
everything's back to normal, if she does a boxing camp, etc, people are back.
Sure, you know, listen, I ain't taking no more fighters, to be honest.
But yeah, Savannah, you know, any, if it's a world title fight and a serious fight,
of course I would, for those that I've seen. You know, she's been with me a long time,
you know, all of her career, so of course I'm going to re-look at it, and if the opportunity
comes, who knows, it might get her on in the cage, and if that happens, so be it, brilliant,
I'll support her, whatever she does, no issue. Fair enough, fair enough. The podcast, Peter,
we're talking about the podcast, it's going really well so far. I mean, the feedback has
been phenomenal of the Straight Talk with Peter Fury and guest podcast. Are you enjoying them,
are you enjoying watching them back? You know, I've got to be honest, you know,
because obviously I haven't watched them back. I haven't got the time. They go on for a couple of
hours, or an hour, or whatever, and I do them, and we just do them off the cuff, and we speak
about a lot of stuff, so, you know, I know I was gone, because obviously I'm involved in it, so
I rarely watch them, I rarely watch the interviews back, to be honest, because of
the commitments, the schedules and stuff, so I never get time, but I do watch some of them back
when I get the time. Well, we've got, we've had some really good ones so far.
The feedback's brilliant. As you say, we just sit down and have a chat, really. The next one,
on Sunday, is Johnny Nelson and Graham King, and I think this is probably the most eye-opening one,
because we're discussing things that you and I have never really looked into the field, so
ayahuasca, DMT, that stuff that we've never really, but me and you haven't done anyway,
so it's really interesting, isn't it, coming up this on Sunday? Some very interesting conversations.
I was very intrigued with what Graham King had to say, and he said a lot of useful things,
interesting stuff, so I think that interview will go down very well. We've all got a strong
connection, because obviously Johnny's close to Graham, I'm close to Graham, they're very good
friends of me and Johnny, so it gels for a perfect interview, because we all know each other,
obviously I know Johnny anyway, but like I say, it was a good interview,
and good from Johnny as well, some interesting stuff. Yeah, I really enjoyed that interview,
and I think that will be very interesting. Well, when is it coming out?
So it's going to be out on Sunday, so a week today, basically, if this goes out tonight,
if I put this out tonight, if I put this out tomorrow on Monday, it's that week coming up,
so it's going to be the Sunday. It's good, yeah, all these podcasts, I like listening to people's
lives, the point of views on stuff, it's very interesting, and I'm always interested in the
afterlife, because that's my faith, so anybody who speaks to me about that, I've got the time
of day for, because that's more or less my passion, I'm into all of that, so I find it
very, very interesting, especially when you get people like Graham King on, Johnny Nelson
and his experiences and stuff, it's very interesting, isn't it? Yeah, so for people
who are watching this and are interested in the podcast, and are loving it so far,
Sunday night, 7pm, Johnny Nelson, who really opens up about his life in boxing,
and Graham King, who beat cancer just through diet, and we talk about some interesting stuff,
including, like I said, Hiawaska, so anyone who's interested, make sure you tune in.
You've only got to look at the man that Graham is, because when you look at it now,
he got diagnosed with throat cancer, if I remember correctly, and he said to him,
look, you need to have this chemo, and this is a man that decided not to have no chemo at all,
and he said, look, if you don't have this chemo, there's a good chance you will die,
because there's only this chemo that can put him in remission. Anyway, he went another route,
he said, I'm not having the chemo, I've made a decision, and he said, look, he faked, he said,
I've had a premonition or something, he said not to have this, he said, I'm not going to have,
but that's how strong his faith is, you know, when you're told that you can be dying,
and if you don't have the chemo, you will die, and this can save your life,
and for this man to say, I'm not having it, is testament to the man that we're talking about,
but this is a man that I ultimately deeply respect, and I think he's a fabulous human
being, and he's got a heart of gold there, and I hope he's a very high standing man.
Yeah, brilliant. I'm looking forward to watching it back myself, to be honest.
Two little topics.
I think I'll definitely be watching his back.
I'm definitely watching that one, CB.
I wonder what you're going to say again.
Two final topics, Peter.
Well, Clarissa Shields, she is the heavyweight champion now, so she's quite a remarkable woman,
this Clarissa Shields.
She does the, in the cage, in the ring, she's the, you know, champion at multiweights,
and now she's the heavyweight champ.
What do you make of it?
Listen, you've got to give Max credit, maximum credit where it's due.
She's a hell of a fighter, you know, that sheer self-belief she's got as well.
Yeah, so heavyweight world champion.
We all take beating, you know, so it's another tick in the box,
so there'll be another like her, I doubt it.
So she's doing a fabulous thing, making history all the time,
and that's what this game's about, you know.
It's a short career, and yeah, she's doing very, very well,
and I congratulate her and all of the team for the great success that she's had.
Yeah, absolutely, and Peter, there's something we talked about just a little bit
before we started doing this, and I know it's very important to you to mention,
and also a lot of people.
It's regarding the Olympic opening ceremony, if that's right.
It's the opening ceremony for the Olympics, which has caused, well,
some controversy in particular, and you've got some views about it.
You believe it's your duty to speak out on it, so the floor is open to you, Peter.
Who am I?
Former drug dealer, former criminal, what I say doesn't matter, but
I believe solely in Jesus Christ, so all Christians, when they speak,
have to speak out, stand up for what they believe in,
whether you're Christian, Muslim, or whatever.
You can't have your faith, you know, like mocked like that,
you know, whatever they are, so, you know,
not that I'm interested in these people's opinions, because they don't matter to me,
but anything that's derogatory against my faith is my duty to speak out,
and I will speak out.
I will not be watching any part of the Olympics, I'll tell you that now,
so that's my view on it, so my faith is in your life,
and without Jesus Christ in it, I'd have no life at all.
Life wouldn't be worth living.
I'd be an empty shell, I'd be a lover of a piece of furniture, a car,
a piece of tin, and that's not the man I am,
so my faith is everything, so, and Jesus Christ is everything in my life,
and, you know, and we'll look at a lot of things,
not just that one thing of the day, I don't know what they are,
or it's a misfit show, but basically,
you've got people who profess to be God's people,
but yet, they're slaughtering people every day.
When you look at these Palestinians, as I was saying,
they're loving, you know, we're God's people.
The blessed Lord is not about murder.
The blessed Lord is not about killing women and children,
and, you know, splash them on the floor like a car running over a march or something,
you know, blowing people to pieces.
The blessed Lord isn't about that at all,
so I don't know what faith these people say to follow him,
because I don't care what nationality, what faith you are,
if you've got a good soul and you believe in helping people
you can't do that, you know,
so I'm at a loss with the modern times, to be honest with you,
with all of the things,
but there's a lot of good people out there,
and I will say, you know,
there's a lot of good arty people out there
that doesn't mean any badness to a lot of people,
and that's the kind of, you know,
without each other, we've got nothing.
No man's a one-man island, but faith to me is everything.
I want to see it being criticised in any way,
sure, mocked or anything,
it's my duty, because when I pass over,
yeah, believe me, we're all passing,
could be tomorrow, could be the next day,
it's tomorrow anyway,
so whether you're 20 or whether you're 80,
you've only got a short time here,
so when the blessed Lord comes to ask me,
you know, you've seen all these things,
you didn't like it, you didn't say anything, did you?
You didn't speak up.
I don't care if I offend the world,
I've got to say what I believe in,
and I think that, that there was scandalous.
The Olympics, go and take a jump from me.
Yes, since you mentioned it to me, Peter,
I've just got it on, because I didn't see this,
I've just been Googling it
whilst you've been speaking there about it,
and having a look at these pictures,
and it looks like, basically,
making a parody of The Last Supper,
which is highly disrespectful,
and I just can't understand why they would do that
in a sporting arena.
No human can imitate The Last Supper,
never mind them.
God is above everything,
and above everything, God's our existence,
so, you know, look,
I don't want to judge anybody,
but when the time comes,
we're all going to be judged,
I'll be judged for what I've done,
I'm sure they'll be judged for what they've done,
so what their personal opinion is doesn't matter,
but anything that comes out to me
or criticises my faith,
I'm going to speak out about it,
you know, all of our work is free speech all the time.
Yeah, yeah.
We're liberal to the core of unbelievable stuff,
well, people will get married to a goat next,
they'll have a Dickiebert eye on them,
so anything that's perverse,
and anything that's insanely vile,
yeah, seems to be all the craze today,
so I think the values is going up shit's rate,
and that's the way I see the world going,
so I'm certainly no part of that,
call me a dinosaur, call me whatever,
I don't care,
my faith is in the blessed Lord,
the Bible, Jesus Christ,
that's it,
nobody can sway me off that.
I think, big, big respect for saying it,
because I think you know what it is nowadays, Peter,
as well,
I don't know if you've noticed this,
but really, people talk about freedom of speech,
but only certain views are really allowed.
Well, people are afraid to speak,
because you might not get on the telly,
your boxer might not get a result,
or whatever,
well I'm not boxing,
I really don't give a flying fuck,
to be honest,
so it is what it is,
so I'm going to speak out,
I could be dead tomorrow,
I'm in my fifties,
I'll say what I'm going to say anyway,
I've always have done,
it's landed me in hot water in the past many a time.
It's too late to change now, isn't it?
We say what we say,
but look,
don't mean anybody any harm,
everybody's got a free will
to do whatever they want to do,
we're given that choice,
it says that in scripture,
we are given a free will to choose
how we want to choose,
you know,
I drifted away from the blessed lord
when I was a young man,
paid the price,
biggest mistake I've ever done in my life,
as soon as I got the blessed lord back,
my life changed,
you know,
I grew up believing in the blessed lord,
lost me away completely,
had to have lost me away to get involved in the shit
I got involved in,
but look,
we live,
we learn,
you know,
and my faith now is everything,
because I realise,
without that,
I've got nothing,
and the blessed lord has been everything to me,
so,
to see somebody,
to see them actions going on,
it's my duty as a man,
and my belief to speak out about it,
so I disagree with all of it,
not what I believe.
Fair enough Peter,
you know what,
I'm just looking at it now,
I mean,
this is really,
yeah,
I can completely understand where you're positioned.
I wonder why don't they do that with Islam?
You're a Muslim,
are you?
Yeah,
yes.
What would you be like if they done things like that to you then?
but it'd be exactly,
I'd have exactly the same reaction Peter,
because it's deeply offensive isn't it?
There's no hatred there,
but it's not the nice thing to do,
so what are we trying to promote here anyway?
Yeah,
yeah.
Like I said,
you know,
vile bullshit to me,
is that what it is,
like I said,
marrying a goat and a cow next year,
or maybe pedophilia will come along somewhere in the future,
like I said,
today,
there's all,
anything seems to be going,
you know,
let's hope it doesn't get there,
let's hope,
I'm totally afraid of God we are,
but what I see happening today is,
honestly,
if my time comes to,
and I'm dying tomorrow,
I'll put my hands together and say,
Jesus Christ,
this is my time,
tick,
let me see my family who's gone,
or whatever,
I'll be sorry for my wife and my kids,
but honestly,
I won't miss any of this shit to say anything,
and them poor kids,
and all the people in wars around the world,
I mean,
you know,
you can say to yourself,
you know,
we're living with Ukrainians,
with Russians,
wars kill people,
that's for sure,
you know,
so,
God ain't to blame for that,
that's,
that's human race,
that's human nature,
that's a human nature,
why all these people are dying,
for sure,
and it comes back to what I've said,
if you question your,
your beliefs with these people,
where really are the beliefs,
because,
certainly,
as a man of the blessed law,
I couldn't care less,
you know,
I'm,
definitely,
not sorry for my wife and kids,
if somebody tried to harm my wife and my kids,
or somebody run in this room with a knife or something,
and attacked my family,
that'd be a different,
that'd be a different performance,
I'm not going to stand there and tell you,
the chief wants me not,
I'm going to protect my family with my life,
that's what I,
that's what I'm here to do,
as a,
as a husband,
a father,
and as a man,
we are meant to do what,
to protect your family,
you know,
yeah,
that's all,
that's,
that's where it starts,
I mean,
you,
you know,
don't,
um,
do bad things to other people,
we're all human,
so,
we all believe the same,
we've got a heart in the wrong way,
we've got,
it is,
you know what I'm trying to say,
I think,
no,
absolutely,
yeah,
completely,
people,
you've got to question the face of these leaders as well,
yeah,
well said,
Peter,
well said,
um,
yeah,
I mean,
as always,
it's been,
it's been great,
I know you don't like it,
but this is how we do it,
so,
because no one wants to see me,
no one wants to see me,
I'm looking at your face there,
but I'm looking,
I'm trying to talk,
and I'm looking at the picture in the background,
I can try talking,
looking at yourself while you're doing it,
yeah,
it's a bit awkward,
I know,
I get,
I get it is,
but I've got to ask you something,
Peter,
I've got to ask you something,
because people have commented about your cough,
and they said you need to get it checked out,
and for about the last five years,
you've had that cough,
so we're gonna get it checked out,
I'm glad you've mentioned it,
because years ago,
in Belgium,
I got pleurisy of the lungs,
ah,
okay,
I didn't know that,
I was in the fighters,
in the gym,
yeah,
and walking back,
well,
getting in,
getting in the vehicle,
and going back home,
and then obviously,
the wet clothes,
because there was no showers there,
and drying on your body,
but give me pleurisy of the lungs,
so every time,
every time like damp weather comes,
or something like this,
I can get it,
or coming off a cold,
I'll get it,
the good news is for me,
I had a full body checkup,
I've had scans,
I've had checkups,
it cost me about seven and a half thousand quid,
I went private,
and I had everything from head to foot,
so no,
I've got no lung issues,
and you know,
so far,
so good,
today I'm healthy,
tomorrow,
who knows,
but no,
the cough is nothing,
okay,
that's good to hear,
because people have actually asked,
in fact,
my mom,
who's your biggest fan,
by the way,
said,
said about it,
asked Peter about the cough,
and asked if he's okay,
because he always coughs in the interview,
so there we go,
no,
I appreciate it,
and I know it can be a bit annoying for people,
to hear me cough and splutter everywhere,
but it's one of those things,
as long as you're all right,
that's the main thing,
you're away this week,
is that right,
you're busy this week,
doing something,
so are you up to anything interesting,
you know,
I've had a mad week,
I've been busy,
I went to a friend of mine's wedding,
you know,
would have liked to stop there longer,
but obviously that commitments,
had to leave there,
and now,
yeah,
I went to,
I went from,
went from Southport to a wedding,
then I went to North Wales,
it's a good friend of mine,
he's bought a hotel down there,
so went down,
spent a bit of time with him,
he's a lifelong friend of mine,
and where else,
and then I went home yesterday,
and now I'm in Cambridge today,
so I'm meeting one of my partners down here,
and to discuss some business,
tomorrow I'm in London all day,
and then,
and then back up,
and I'll meet you each Tuesday morning,
and then we're back in the gym,
back in there,
so busy,
it's always,
it's always busy,
you're always flying about somewhere,
aren't you,
yeah,
always,
there's always things to do,
but it's nice as well,
it's nice to get out,
you know,
see people,
we had a lovely walk around this Cambridge,
I'll tell you what,
the buildings here,
we went to King's College,
and I've seen it inside,
because one of the people on the doors,
recognised one of the people I work with,
he's a guy I work with,
he's pretty prominent here in this town,
so I recognised him,
in this place,
and I was very impressed with it,
the old things,
I like old things,
yeah,
you don't want to look at it,
you know,
and they got a,
they got streets here named after Jesus Christ,
and stuff like that,
so a lot of religious stuff here,
nice to see,
so beautiful actually,
so I fully enjoyed my day,
I had a walk along the river,
you can see all these boats going up and down,
where they got these poles in the water,
and these couples are in there,
that was a nice,
it's called punting I think,
they call it punting,
punting,
that's correct,
it is,
yeah,
so yeah,
it sounds great,
yeah,
I've just come back from North Wales myself Peter,
it's beautiful,
I was up in the mountains,
where did you go then?
I couldn't tell you the name,
because the missus actually booked it,
we went away with the family,
but we went to the Welsh Mountain Zoo up there,
we went to some beautiful,
scenic spots out there,
and we saw this amazing church,
we went to an amazing church,
we've seen up there as well,
beautiful,
it is,
hey pal,
he's just bought a place down there,
it's out of this world,
it's called Palais Hall,
it's in Ballagh,
it's a five-star facility,
and it's another old building,
beautiful,
and it's home ground,
and the views are phenomenal,
you know,
unbelievable,
I've been there a few times now,
when he keeps asking me to come down,
he's my drinky partner isn't he,
we get there,
he says,
are you coming down?
I say no,
no,
I can't get down,
he's like,
well listen,
I've got a nice bottle of ready,
and he said,
I've maybe got three or four,
and he tells me what they are,
and I go,
oh well,
go on then,
we go down,
and we have a drink and stuff,
it's nice,
I fully recommend it
for people who want to go there,
outstanding,
lovely walks,
rivers,
beautiful scenery there.
Well a few people have commented
about the beautiful scenery
at where we filmed the podcast,
the building that you've
doing a project on,
as well,
it's great isn't it,
the history of these buildings,
the way they're built,
and if you actually look at
the way they're built,
they stand the test of time
in modern times,
don't they as well?
Yeah,
well you know,
there's a few kids
coming there now,
so it's getting busy
with the children,
they have special care
and what not,
it's the children
with special needs basically,
so that's moving along,
but the old building's old,
it's a lovely scenery as well,
it's in a lot of land,
and yeah it's nice,
it's a nice countryside,
very nice countryside.
I hope you enjoy
the rest of the week
then and get to take in
a bit of the sun
if it's out for you,
where you are down there.
Lovely day here today,
I'm just looking out the window here
and there's picnics going on,
if I could show you,
oh hang on a minute.
Yeah, do it,
just spin your,
are you on a laptop or a phone
or something like that?
I'm on a laptop,
but I'll just spin it around.
Yeah, let's have a look.
What can you see out there,
can you see anything?
Yeah,
I can see a big ferris wheel there
or I can see people
having a bit of a picnic,
I'm enjoying the day
and that's what it's all about,
isn't it,
the simple things,
they're the most enjoyable sometimes.
Exactly,
with me not being a sunbather
and me talking to you.
You've got the short straw,
yeah,
sat inside talking to me.
All right,
so how are you getting on
with your emceeing?
Oh, are you interviewing me now Peter,
yeah.
You're in Dubai,
everywhere.
Yeah,
well I enjoyed that one in Dubai
because Stephen Ward was on it,
he took a late replacement
and the show was run by
some Albanian people,
good people
and it was a really good show,
I enjoyed it,
I enjoyed it.
Yeah,
I'm getting about,
hopefully I'll be,
well I don't know,
but I haven't been asked yet
but I've got a feeling
I might be emceeing
Hughie's next fight
which would be great.
27th of September
and GBM will announce Hughie
very soon,
so yeah,
it's exciting.
So I don't think that
they'll announce where it is anyway
but I believe it's a nice venue as well.
I think they have announced it Peter,
I think they've said
Cannon Medical Arena in Sheffield.
Okay,
well what's it like,
is it nice?
Yeah, it's nice,
I've emceed there before,
it's nice,
it's everywhere's got a good view,
it's a bit like,
let's say like a bit like York Hall
but obviously it's a modern building,
I'm just talking about the view,
there's no bad seats,
everyone gets a view.
Oh that's good,
so you'll be doing the emceeing there won't you?
I'd assume,
well I haven't been asked yet
but I'm probably
because I've done all the rest of them,
so we'll see.
I think you will be for sure,
I'll have to have a word with Izzy,
innit Mia?
I'm not saying anything but you know.
You listen as it is,
get my man Aki on for the good job.
Well we're hoping to get Izzy and Adam Smith
on the podcast aren't we as well?
Yeah,
it'd be nice to get them on
and I think now's the time to get them on
because I think
the last time I spoke to Izzy
he was going to speak to Adam
because Adam's coming up from London isn't he?
So he's just finding the right time
and he's also coming on.
We've got a good one booked in next week,
we've got John Pegg
who has been around the circuit for years,
going to tell us some interesting stories
about Birmingham and all that area
and he's been in every corner,
he's been in like more corners
and him and Kerry have been in all the corners
haven't they?
So we're going to get a good insight from him.
I'll speak to Jamie Moore on the train as well.
He's coming on with another prominent colour
isn't he John Pegg?
Yeah, Al Stephens.
Yeah, he done a lot in the doors didn't he
back in the day.
That'll be interesting to speak to him as well.
I love it because I get to meet people
that I've not met Al before
and I love talking to new people
like with Graham King.
It's fantastic to learn about people
and their lives.
I do know friends of mine
that know this Al Stephens isn't it?
Yeah.
You know, he's very well thought of in his area
so the good friends of mine as well
that is very good friends with him.
So I've heard lots of good things about the guy
so it'll be good to meet him
and he's done a book I believe.
Okay, I'll definitely do the research then.
Yeah, I'll do the research.
You told me about a book about his life.
Yeah, it's going to be launched
but I believe it is.
It'll be interesting so maybe
he can bring his book along
and we'll talk about it and what's in it.
100% and we had a good chat
with Glyn Rhodes recently as well.
We did.
It was nice to meet Glyn.
Obviously I've known the guy for many, many years
but I can't remember.
Maybe we have met before
but to have him on the show
and just listening to the man speak
and also just to keep him as well
listening to him.
It was good.
It was a good podcast.
I enjoy them.
Yeah.
So who else is in line to come on?
Well, I spoke to Jamie Moore
because I was on the same flight back to him from Dubai
because his fight was there.
So he said he'd come on, Jamie Moore
and we're hoping to ask Martin Murray, John Murray.
There's loads of people that we want to ask.
We'd love anyone to come on, wouldn't we, Peter?
You know, we've got a good story.
We'd love it.
Yeah, all them people you mentioned.
All good people.
All good boxing people as well.
They've been in it all their lives.
So it'd be good to get them on the show.
And we're trying to get hold of the fortune teller
that you mentioned from the Trafford Centre
but I've been in the Trafford Centre about five times
looking for this fortune teller
but she's not there anymore.
So we're going to have to get to the bottom of this.
Maybe, maybe she took a TARDIS box
and gone somewhere else.
Maybe, yeah.
You make me laugh, Mikey, honestly.
You've been to the Trafford Centre.
I have.
You can ask the missus, I said to her.
We need to try and find where it used to be
but instead of that box there,
there's an ice cream box instead.
So I said, this can't be right.
You wouldn't have thought so, would you?
It'd be very interesting though.
I met her years ago.
Very interesting woman.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, we love having the chats, Peter.
We love it.
And people love hearing from you.
So the one way to continue.
God bless everybody.
God bless.
And keep speaking out about Jesus and God
because without God,
this is a soulless world we're living in.
Trust me on that.
Yeah.
Well said, Peter.
And have a good week
and hopefully see you,
hopefully see you the week after for the podcast.
Pass my regards to Chris as well.
Will do.
God bless all the good people.
Take care.
See you later.
Bye.
