this is a 22 News Storm Team weather
alert good Tuesday afternoon the flood
watch is up from the National Weather
Service and also the 20day Storm Team
weather alert is up as well we are going
to continue to weather alert through the
rest of today and into the day tomorrow
because of all the rain that is on the
way for tomorrow again the flood watch
up from the National Weather Service
starting at 1:00 tomorrow afternoon
until 7:00 a.m. on Thursday uh this is
because of a lot of rain of course that
we're going to be getting and also
there's a little bit of a snow pack back
in the burkers and also in Vermont and
New Hampshire there's some snow on the
ground and all that's going to likely
Mel or most of it and it's going to go
down into the Creeks the rivers and
stream so we're going to see water
levels rise in our creeks and rivers and
streams here also some localized Street
flooding possible and there's also the
chance if you have problems with your
basement even you might want to keep an
eye on that heading into the day
tomorrow and also tomorrow night but
Springfield for now very cloudy as we
look off to the uh Southwest here over
the Connecticut River you can see just
nothing but clouds but we're dry for now
same for Westfield looking off to the
West you can see just a complete cloudy
Sky no sun uh we we haven't seen any sun
today and we don't expect to see any sun
the rest of the afternoon so the breeze
is starting to come a little bit more
out of the East for now it's fairly
light around 5 to 10 miles hour the wind
will be directly out of the South as we
go through later tonight and into the
day tomorrow and with that southerly
breeze we're going to see these
temperatures really take off well above
above average near 60° tomorrow for
right now we're in the 30s and
temperatures really haven't moved all
day because of that onshore breeze
really off the Atlantic keeping us a
little on the cooler side but watch as
temperatures move over the next 24 hours
so here we are 1:00 this afternoon we're
in the 30s out there for everyone come
later this afternoon going into the
evening 6 p.m. you notice the
temperatures really don't move by much
as we go through the remainder of the
day going into tonight 10:00 still in
the 30s some 40s starting to develop
there in the burkers and here comes the
breze out of the South by tomorrow
morning 6:00 a.m. we're in the 40s even
some low 50s there in the birk shears by
tomorrow afternoon at this time 55 in
Springfield 57 in Orange and here come
the 60s 300 p.m. tomorrow afternoon 63
in Springfield 62 the temperature in
Northampton with rain that will be heavy
as we go through much of the evening and
then we see the cold air move in
tomorrow night on the back side of that
storm so high temperature right around
60 for tomorrow but that warm weather
doesn't last too long we see the
temperatures crash back below average in
the 30s for Thursday and Friday got to
watch also for a flash freeze
potentially heading into Thursday as
temperatures will fall back into the 30s
and some spots below freezing so any
water and a lot of it that falls for
tomorrow could create some ice and slick
spots on the road so we'll keep an eye
on that but right now it is dry taking a
wider view on clouds radar you can see
nothing but cloud cover across the
region as we go through the rest of the
day we'll stay mostly dry and cloudy 300
p.m. nothing but clouds maybe a spot
sprinkle in a few spots but that's just
about it 600 p.m. looking fine heading
into the overnight 10:00 rain showers
start to develop and here comes the
steadier rain 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday you
can see light to moderate rain
developing through the morning tomorrow
into the afternoon it's really tomorrow
late afternoon into the evening here
comes the really heavy rain this is what
could create some of that uh flooding
especially 5:00 p.m. you can see right
around the evening Rush Hour some of
that dark orange and dark Reds
indicating heavy downpours even some
rumbles of Thunder camp rolled out and
still holding on to moderate the heavy
rain around 8:00 p.m. tomorrow and on
the back side of this colder air comes
in could see a flip back to some wet
snow in the Burk shears uh and then this
is gone heading into the day on Thursday
and it's a cold day on Thursday so how
much rain are we expecting for most of
us around 2 to 3 in but there could be
some spots that see a little more 4 in
amounts can't be ruled out in some
isolated areas that do get some heavier
downpours in terms of the wind most of
the morning tomorrow is fine even at
noon tomorrow 12:00 not much wind here
in the valley but as we go into the
evening as those heavier downpours come
in associated with that front here comes
some of the stronger wind gusts around
20 to 40 m hour so if you do have any of
those outdoor Christmas decorations that
are the blowup ones you might want to
bring them inside or anything that can
just be blown around uh in terms of your
Christmas decorations you might want to
again take those down because of some of
the S you don't want to lose those of
course with 20 to 30 mph winds so here's
what to expect rain for Wednesday heavy
is 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 2 to 3 in
localized 4 in amounts possible but I
think a lot of us around 2 or 3 in Wing
US 20 to 40 mph and again localized
Street and River flooding is also
possible and that's why the National
Weather Service does have that flood
watch up so for the rest of the day
temperatures really don't move by much
30s to near 40° we stay in the 30s to
near 40 heading into the overnight and
temperatures really rise for tomorrow
around 60° with rain heavy at times and
windy for the day on Wednesday and then
we fall right back below average in the
30s for Thursday Friday and Saturday we
could even see a few passing rain or
snow showers on Sunday if you want to
